1 Therefore having been justified on the principle of faith, we have peace towards God through our Lord Jesus Christ; 2 by whom we have also access by faith into this favour in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also boast in tribulations, knowing that tribulation works endurance; 4 and endurance, experience; and experience, hope; 5 and hope does not make ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which has been given to us:

6 for we being still without strength, in the due time Christ has died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for the just man will one die, for perhaps for the good man some one might also dare to die; 8 but God commends his love to us, in that, we being still sinners, Christ has died for us. 9 Much rather therefore, having been now justified in the power of his blood, we shall be saved by him from wrath. 10 For if, being enemies, we have been reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much rather, having been reconciled, we shall be saved in the power of his life. 11 And not only that, but we are making our boast in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom now we have received the reconciliation. 12 For this cause, even as by one man sin entered into the world, and by sin death; and thus death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 13 (for until law sin was in the world; but sin is not put to account when there is no law; 14 but death reigned from Adam until Moses, even upon those who had not sinned in the likeness of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him to come. 15 But shall not the act of favour be as the offence? For if by the offence of one the many have died, much rather has the grace of God, and the free gift in grace, which isby the one man Jesus Christ, abounded unto the many. 16 And shall not as by one that has sinned be the gift? For the judgment was of one to condemnation, but the act of favour, of many offences unto justification. 17 For if by the offence of the one death reigned by the one, much rather shall those who receive the abundance of grace, and of the free gift of righteousness, reign in life by the one Jesus Christ:) 18 so then as it was by one offence towards all men to condemnation, so by one righteousness towards all men for justification of life. 19 For as indeed by the disobedience of the one man the many have been constituted sinners, so also by the obedience of the one the many will be constituted righteous. 20 But law came in, in order that the offence might abound; but where sin abounded grace has overabounded, 21 in order that, even as sin has reigned in the power of death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Domnul nostru Isus Hristos. 2 Lui Îi datorăm faptul că, prin credință, am intrat în această stare de har în*1 Cor. 15:1. care suntem și ne bucurăm*Evr. 3:6. în nădejdea slavei lui Dumnezeu. 3 Ba mai mult, ne*Mat. 5:11,12.Fapte 5:41.2 Cor. 12:10.Filip. 2:17.Iac. 1:2,12.1 Pet. 3:14. bucurăm chiar și în necazurile noastre, căci știm*Iac. 1:3. că necazul aduce răbdare, 4 răbdarea*Iac. 1:12. aduce biruință în încercare, iar biruința aceasta aduce nădejdea. 5 Însă nădejdea*Filip. 1:20. aceasta nu înșală, pentru că*2 Cor. 1:22.Gal. 4:6.Efes. 1:13,14. dragostea lui Dumnezeu a fost turnată în inimile noastre prin Duhul Sfânt, care ne-a fost dat. 6 Căci, pe când eram noi încă fără putere, Hristos, la vremea cuvenită, a*Cap. 4:25. Vers. 8. murit pentru cei nelegiuiți. 7 Pentru un om neprihănit cu greu ar muri cineva, dar pentru binefăcătorul lui poate că s-ar găsi cineva să moară. 8 Dar Dumnezeu*Ioan 15:13.1 Pet. 3:18.1 Ioan 3:16;4:9,10. Își arată dragostea față de noi prin faptul că, pe când eram noi încă păcătoși, Hristos a murit pentru noi. 9 Deci, cu atât mai mult acum, când suntem socotiți neprihăniți prin*Cap. 3:25.Efes. 2:13.Evr. 9:14.1 Ioan 1:7. sângele Lui, vom fi mântuiți prin El de mânia lui Dumnezeu*Cap. 1:18.1 Tes. 1:10.. 10 Căci, dacă*Cap. 8:32. atunci când eram vrăjmași, am fost împăcați*2 Cor. 5:18,19.Efes. 2:16.Col. 1:20,21. cu Dumnezeu, prin moartea Fiului Său, cu mult mai mult acum, când suntem împăcați cu El, vom fi mântuiți prin*Ioan 5:26;14:19.2 Cor. 4:10,11. viața Lui. 11 Și nu numai atât, dar ne*Cap. 2:17;3:29,30.Gal. 4:9. și bucurăm în Dumnezeu, prin Domnul nostru Isus Hristos, prin care am căpătat împăcarea.

12 De aceea, după cum printr-un*Gen. 3:6.1 Cor. 15:21. singur om a intrat păcatul în lume și prin*Gen. 2:17. Cap. 6:23.1 Cor. 15:21. păcat a intrat moartea, și astfel moartea a trecut asupra tuturor oamenilor, din pricină că toți au păcătuit… 13 (Căci înainte de Lege păcatul era în lume. Dar păcatul*Cap. 4:15.1 Ioan 3:4. nu este ținut în seamă câtă vreme nu este o lege. 14 Totuși moartea a domnit, de la Adam până la Moise, chiar peste cei ce nu păcătuiseră printr-o călcare de lege asemănătoare cu a lui Adam, care*1 Cor. 15:21,22,45. este o icoană preînchipuitoare a Celui ce avea să vină. 15 Dar cu darul fără plată nu este ca și cu greșeala, căci, dacă prin greșeala unuia singur, cei mulți au fost loviți cu moartea, apoi cu mult mai mult harul lui Dumnezeu și darul pe care ni l-a făcut harul acesta într-un singur om, adică în Isus Hristos, s-au dat din belșug celor*Is. 53:11.Mat. 20:28;26:28. mulți. 16 Și darul fără plată nu vine ca printr-acel unul care a păcătuit, căci judecata venită de la unul a adus osânda, dar darul fără plată venit în urma multor greșeli a adus o hotărâre de iertare. 17 Dacă deci, prin greșeala unuia singur, moartea a domnit prin el singur, cu mult mai mult cei ce primesc, în toată plinătatea, harul și darul neprihănirii vor domni în viață prin Acel Unul singur, care este Isus Hristos!) 18 …Astfel dar, după cum printr-o singură greșeală a venit o osândă care a lovit pe*Ioan 12:32.Evr. 2:9. toți oamenii, tot așa, printr-o singură hotărâre de iertare a venit pentru toți oamenii o hotărâre de neprihănire care dă viața. 19 Căci, după cum, prin neascultarea unui singur om, cei mulți au fost făcuți păcătoși, tot așa, prin ascultarea unui singur om, cei mulți vor fi făcuți neprihăniți. 20 Ba încă și Legea*Ioan 15:22. Cap. 3:20;4:15;7:8.Gal. 3:19,23. a venit pentru ca să se înmulțească greșeala, dar unde s-a înmulțit păcatul, acolo harul s-a înmulțit*Luca 7:47.1 Tim. 1:14. și mai mult, 21 pentru ca, după cum păcatul a stăpânit dând moartea, tot așa și harul să stăpânească dând neprihănirea, ca să dea viața veșnică, prin Isus Hristos, Domnul nostru.
