14 Jesus continuou:

— O Reino do Céu será como um homem que ia fazer uma viagem. Ele chamou os seus empregados e os pôs para tomarem conta da sua propriedade. 15 E lhes deu dinheiro de acordo com a capacidade de cada um: ao primeiro deu quinhentas moedas de ouro; ao segundo deu duzentas; e ao terceiro deu cem. Então foi viajar. 16 O empregado que tinha recebido quinhentas moedas saiu logo, fez negócios com o dinheiro e conseguiu outras quinhentas. 17 Do mesmo modo, o que havia recebido duzentas moedas conseguiu outras duzentas. 18 Mas o que tinha recebido cem moedas saiu, fez um buraco na terra e escondeu o dinheiro do patrão.

19 — Depois de muito tempo, o patrão voltou e fez um acerto de contas com eles. 20 O empregado que havia recebido quinhentas moedas chegou e entregou mais quinhentas, dizendo: "O senhor me deu quinhentas moedas. Veja! Aqui estão mais quinhentas que consegui ganhar."

21 — "Muito bem, empregado bom e fiel", disse o patrão. "Você foi fiel negociando com pouco dinheiro, e por isso vou pôr você para negociar com muito. Venha festejar comigo!"

22 — Então o empregado que havia recebido duzentas moedas chegou e disse: "O senhor me deu duzentas moedas. Veja! Aqui estão mais duzentas que consegui ganhar."

23 — "Muito bem, empregado bom e fiel", disse o patrão. "Você foi fiel negociando com pouco dinheiro, e por isso vou pôr você para negociar com muito. Venha festejar comigo!"

24 — Aí o empregado que havia recebido cem moedas chegou e disse: "Eu sei que o senhor é um homem duro, que colhe onde não plantou e junta onde não semeou. 25 Fiquei com medo e por isso escondi o seu dinheiro na terra. Veja! Aqui está o seu dinheiro."

26 — "Empregado mau e preguiçoso!", disse o patrão. "Você sabia que colho onde não plantei e junto onde não semeei. 27 Por isso você devia ter depositado o meu dinheiro no banco, e, quando eu voltasse, o receberia com juros."

— Depois virou-se para os outros empregados e disse: 28 "Tirem dele o dinheiro e deem ao que tem mil moedas. 29 Porque aquele que tem muito receberá mais e assim terá mais ainda; mas quem não tem, até o pouco que tem será tirado dele. 30 E joguem fora, na escuridão, o empregado inútil. Ali ele vai chorar e ranger os dentes de desespero."

14 For it is, just as a man, who, going from home, called his own servants, and delivered up to them his substance;

15 And, to one, indeed, gave he five talents, and, to another, two, and, to another, one,to each according to his particular ability, and went from home.

16 Straightway, he who, the five talents, had received, went and traded with them, and gained other five:

17 Likewise, he of the two, gained other two:

18 But, he who the one had received, went away, and digged up ground, and hid the silver of his lord.

19 And, after a long time, cometh the lord of those servants, and reckoneth with them.

20 And he who the five talents had received, coming forward, brought other five talents, saying,Lord! five talents, to me, thou didst deliver up: See! other five talents, I gained.

21 His lord said unto himWell-done! good and faithful servant,Over a few things wast thou faithful, over many things, will I appoint thee: Enter into the joy of thy lord.

22 He also of the two talents, coming forward, saidLord! two talents, to me, didst thou deliver up: See! other two talents, I gained.

24 But he also who, the one talent, had received, coming forward, saidLord I knew thee, that thou art a, hard, man, reaping, where thou hast not sown,and gathering, whence thou hast not winnowed;

25 And, overcome with fear, I went away, and hid thy talent in the ground: See! thou hast what is thine!

26 And his lord, answering, said unto himO wicked servant, and cowardly, knewest thou that I reap, where I have not sown, and gather, whence I have not winnowed?

27 It was binding on thee, therefore, to cast my silver into the money-changers,and, I, when I, came, might have obtained what was mine, with interest.

28 Therefore take away, from him, the talent, and give unto him that hath the ten talents;

29 For, to every one that hath, shall be given, and he shall be made to abound; but, from him that hath not, even what he hath, shall be taken away from him:

30 And, the unprofitable servant, cast ye forth into the darkness, outside: There, shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
