1 Esta é a bênção com a qual Moisés, homem de Deus, abençoou os israelitas antes da sua morte.2 Ele disse: "O Senhor veio do Sinai e alvoreceu sobre eles desde o Seir, resplandeceu desde o monte Parã. Veio com miríades de santos desde o sul, desde as encostas de suas montanhas.3 Certamente és tu que amas o povo; todos os santos estão em tuas mãos. A teus pés todos eles se prostram e de ti recebem instrução,4 a lei que Moisés nos deu, a herança da assembléia de Jacó.5 Ele era rei sobre Jesurum, quando os chefes do povo se reuniam, juntamente com as tribos de Israel.6 "Que Rúben viva e não morra, mesmo sendo poucos os seus homens".7 E disse a respeito de Judá: "Ouve, ó Senhor, o grito de Judá; traze-o para o seu povo. Que as suas próprias mãos sejam suficientes, e que haja auxílio contra os seus adversários! "8 A respeito de Levi disse: "O teu Urim e o teu Tumim pertencem ao homem a quem favoreceste. Tu o provaste em Massá; disputaste com ele junto às águas de Meribá.9 Levi disse do seu pai e da sua mãe: ‘Não tenho consideração por eles’. Não reconheceu os seus irmãos, Nem conheceu os próprios filhos, apesar de que guardaram a tua palavra e observaram a tua aliança.10 Ele ensina as tuas ordenanças a Jacó e a tua lei a Israel. Ele te oferece incenso e holocaustos completos no teu altar.11 Abençoa todos os seus esforços, ó Senhor, e aprova a obra das suas mãos. Despedaça os lombos dos seus adversários, dos que o odeiam, sejam quem forem".12 A respeito de Benjamim disse: "Que o amado do Senhor descanse nele em segurança, pois ele o protege o tempo inteiro, e aquele a quem o Senhor ama descansa nos seus braços".  13 A respeito de José disse: "Que o Senhor abençoe a sua terra com o precioso orvalho que vem de cima, do céu, e com as águas das profundezas;14 com o melhor que o sol amadurece e com o melhor que a lua possa dar;15 com as dádivas mais bem escolhidas dos montes antigos e com a fertilidade das colinas eternas;16 com os melhores frutos da terra e a sua plenitude, e o favor daquele que apareceu na sarça ardente. Que tudo isso repouse sobre a cabeça de José, sobre a fronte do escolhido entre os seus irmãos.17 É majestoso como a primeira cria de um touro; seus chifres são os chifres de um boi selvagem, com os quais ferirá as nações, até os confins da terra. Assim são as dezenas de milhares de Efraim; assim são os milhares de Manassés".18 A respeito de Zebulom disse: "Alegre-se, Zebulom, em suas viagens, e você, Issacar, em suas tendas.19 Eles convocarão povos para o monte e ali oferecerão sacrifícios de justiça; farão um banquete com a riqueza dos mares, com os tesouros ocultos das praias".20 A respeito de Gade disse: "Bendito é aquele que amplia os domínios de Gade! Gade fica à espreita como um leão; despedaça um braço e também a cabeça.21 Escolheu para si o melhor; a porção do líder lhe foi reservada. Tornou-se o chefe do povo e executou a justa vontade do Senhor e os seus juízos sobre Israel".22 A respeito de Dã disse: "Dã é um filhote de leão, que vem saltando desde Basã".23 A respeito de Naftali disse: "Naftali tem fartura do favor do Senhor e está repleto de suas bênçãos; suas posses estendem-se para o sul, em direção ao mar".24 A respeito de Aser disse: "Bendito é Aser entre os filhos; seja ele favorecido por seus irmãos, e banhe os seus pés no azeite!25 Sejam de ferro e bronze as trancas das suas portas, e dure a sua força como os seus dias.26 "Não há ninguém como o Deus de Jesurum, que cavalga os céus para ajudá-lo, e cavalga as nuvens em sua majestade!27 O Deus eterno é o seu refúgio, e para segurá-lo estão os braços eternos. Ele expulsará os inimigos da sua presença, dizendo: ‘Destrua-os! ’28 Somente Israel viverá em segurança; a fonte de Jacó está segura numa terra de trigo e de vinho novo, onde os céus gotejam orvalho.29 Como você é feliz, Israel! Quem é como você, povo salvo pelo Senhor? Ele é o seu abrigo, o seu ajudador e a sua espada gloriosa. Os seus inimigos se encolherão diante de você, mas você pisará os seus altos".

1 And this is the blessing, with which Moses the man of God blessed the sons of Israel before his death.2 And he said, Yahweh came from Sinai, And rose from Seir to them; He shined forth from mount Paran, And with him [were some] from the ten thousands of holy ones: At his right hand was a fiery law for them.3 Yes, he loves the people; All his saints are in your hand: And they sat down at your feet; [Everyone] will receive of your words.4 Moses commanded us a law, An inheritance for the assembly of Jacob.5 And he was king in Jeshurun, When the heads of the people were gathered, All the tribes of Israel together.6 Let Reuben live, and not die; Nor let his men be few.7 And this is [the blessing] of Judah: and he said, Hear, Yahweh, the voice of Judah, And bring him in to his people. With his hands he contended for him; And you will be a help against his adversaries.8 And of Levi he said, Bring to Levi your Thummim, and your Urim to your godly one, Whom you proved at Massah, With whom you strove at the waters of Meribah;9 Who said of his father, and of his mother, I haven't seen him; Neither did he acknowledge his brothers, Nor knew he his own sons: For they have observed your word, And keep your covenant.10 They will teach Jacob your ordinances, And Israel your law: They will put incense before you, And whole burnt-offering on your altar.11 Bless, Yahweh, his substance, And accept the work of his hands: Strike through the loins of those who rise up against him, And of those who hate him, that they may not rise again.12 Of Benjamin he said, The beloved of Yahweh will stay in safety. The Most High covers him all the day long, And he stays between his shoulders.13 And of Joseph he said, Blessed of Yahweh be his land, For the precious things of heaven, for the dew, And for the deep that crouches beneath,14 And for the precious things of the fruits of the sun, And for the precious things of the growth of the moons,15 And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, And for the precious things of the everlasting hills,16 And for the precious things of the earth and the fullness of it, And the good will of him who stayed in the bush. Let [the blessing] come upon the head of Joseph, And on the top of the head of him who was separate from his brothers.17 The firstborn of his herd, majesty is his; And his horns are the horns of the wild-ox: With them he will push the peoples all of them, [even] the ends of the earth: And they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, And they are the thousands of Manasseh.18 And of Zebulun he said, Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out; And, Issachar, in your tents.19 They will call the peoples to the mountain; There they will offer sacrifices of righteousness: For they will suck the abundance of the seas, And the hidden treasures of the sand.20 And of Gad he said, Blessed be he who enlarges Gad: Like a lion he stays, And tears the arm, yes, the top of the head.21 And he provided the first part for himself, For where the lawgiver's portion was, There the chiefs of the people assembled together; He executed the righteousness of Yahweh, And his ordinances with Israel.22 And of Dan he said, Dan is a lion's whelp, That leaps forth from Bashan.23 And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favor, And full with the blessing of Yahweh, Possess the west and the south.24 And of Asher he said, Blessed be Asher with sons; Let him be acceptable to his brothers, And let him dip his foot in oil.25 Your bars will be iron and bronze; And as your days, so will your strength be.26 There is none like God, O Jeshurun, Who rides on the heavens for your help, And in his excellency on the skies.27 The eternal God is [your] dwelling-place, And underneath are the everlasting arms. And he thrusts out the enemy from before you, And said, Destroy.28 And Israel stays in safety, The fountain of Jacob alone, In a land of grain and new wine; Yes, his heavens drop down dew.29 Happy are you, O Israel: Who is like you, a people saved by Yahweh, The shield of your help, And the sword of your excellency! And your enemies will submit themselves to you; And you will tread on their high places.
