1 O Senhor disse a Moisés: 2 "Estas são as instruções a respeito da purificação da pessoa com lepra. Ela deverá comparecer perante o sacerdote, 3 que a levará para fora do acampamento e examinará a infecção. Se o sacerdote constatar que a lepra foi curada, 4 realizará uma cerimônia de purificação usando duas aves vivas cerimonialmente puras, um pedaço de madeira de cedro, um pano vermelho e um ramo de hissopo. 5 O sacerdote mandará matar uma das aves sobre uma vasilha de barro cheia de água limpa. 6 Em seguida, pegará a ave viva, o pedaço de madeira de cedro, o pano vermelho e o ramo de hissopo e os molhará no sangue da ave que foi morta sobre a água limpa. 7 Depois disso, o sacerdote aspergirá sete vezes o sangue da ave morta sobre a pessoa que está sendo purificada da lepra. Quando o sacerdote tiver purificado a pessoa, soltará a ave viva em campo aberto.

8 "A pessoa que está sendo purificada lavará suas roupas, raspará todos os pelos e se banhará com água. Estará cerimonialmente pura e poderá voltar ao acampamento. Contudo, ficará fora de sua tenda por sete dias. 9 No sétimo dia, raspará novamente todos os pelos, cabelos, pelos faciais e sobrancelhas. Lavará também suas roupas e se banhará com água. Desse modo, estará cerimonialmente pura.

10 "No oitavo dia, a pessoa que está sendo purificada trará dois cordeiros sem defeito e uma cordeira de um ano e sem defeito, junto com uma oferta de cereal de seis litros de farinha da melhor qualidade umedecida com azeite e uma caneca de azeite. 11 O sacerdote encarregado da cerimônia apresentará a pessoa a ser purificada, junto com as ofertas, diante do Senhor, à entrada da tenda do encontro. 12 O sacerdote pegará um dos cordeiros e o azeite e os apresentará como oferta pela culpa, movendo-os para o alto como oferta especial para o Senhor. 13 Em seguida, matará o cordeiro no lugar sagrado onde são mortos os animais para as ofertas pelo pecado e para os holocaustos. Assim como a oferta pelo pecado, a oferta pela culpa pertence ao sacerdote. É uma oferta santíssima. 14 Depois disso, o sacerdote pegará um pouco do sangue da oferta pela culpa e o colocará na ponta da orelha direita, no polegar da mão direita e no polegar do pé direito da pessoa que está sendo purificada.

15 "O sacerdote também colocará um pouco do azeite na palma de sua mão esquerda. 16 Molhará o dedo direito no azeite na palma da mão esquerda e com ele aspergirá sete vezes diante do Senhor. 17 Parte do azeite que está em sua mão ele colocará na ponta da orelha direita, no polegar da mão direita e no polegar do pé direito da pessoa que está sendo purificada, em cima do sangue da oferta pela culpa. 18 O sacerdote colocará o azeite restante em sua mão na cabeça da pessoa que está sendo purificada. Desse modo, o sacerdote fará expiação pela pessoa diante do Senhor.

19 "Então o sacerdote apresentará a oferta pelo pecado para fazer expiação pela pessoa que foi curada da lepra. Em seguida, o sacerdote matará o animal para o holocausto 20 e o apresentará sobre o altar junto com a oferta de cereal. Desse modo, o sacerdote fará expiação pela pessoa que foi curada, e ela ficará cerimonialmente pura.

21 "Quem for muito pobre e não tiver recursos para apresentar essas ofertas poderá levar um cordeiro para a oferta pela culpa, que será movido para o alto como oferta especial para a purificação. Levará também dois litros de farinha da melhor qualidade umedecida com azeite para a oferta de cereal e uma caneca de azeite. 22 A oferta incluirá ainda duas rolinhas ou dois pombinhos, de acordo com os recursos da pessoa. Uma das aves será usada para a oferta pelo pecado, e a outra, para o holocausto. 23 No oitavo dia da cerimônia de purificação, a pessoa que está sendo purificada levará as ofertas ao sacerdote na presença do Senhor, à entrada da tenda do encontro. 24 O sacerdote pegará o cordeiro para a oferta pela culpa, junto com o azeite, e os moverá para o alto como oferta especial para o Senhor. 25 Depois disso, o sacerdote matará o cordeiro para a oferta pela culpa. Pegará um pouco do sangue e o colocará na ponta da orelha direita, no polegar da mão direita e no polegar do pé direito da pessoa que está sendo purificada.

26 "O sacerdote também derramará um pouco do azeite na palma de sua mão esquerda. 27 Molhará o dedo direito no azeite na palma de sua mão esquerda e com ele aspergirá sete vezes diante do Senhor. 28 Parte do azeite que está em sua mão ele colocará na ponta da orelha direita, no polegar da mão direita e no polegar do pé direito da pessoa que está sendo purificada, em cima do sangue da oferta pela culpa. 29 O sacerdote colocará o azeite restante em sua mão na cabeça da pessoa que está sendo purificada. Desse modo, o sacerdote fará expiação pela pessoa diante do Senhor.

30 "Então o sacerdote oferecerá as duas rolinhas ou os dois pombinhos, de acordo com os recursos da pessoa. 31 Uma das aves é uma oferta pelo pecado, e a outra é um holocausto; serão apresentadas junto com a oferta de cereal. Desse modo, o sacerdote fará expiação pela pessoa diante do Senhor. 32 Essas são as instruções para a purificação daqueles que se recuperaram da lepra, mas que não têm recursos para levar as ofertas requeridas para a cerimônia de purificação".

33 Então o Senhor disse a Moisés e a Arão: 34 "Quando chegarem a Canaã, a terra que eu lhes dou como propriedade, e eu contaminar com manchas de mofo algumas das casas de sua terra, 35 o dono de uma dessas casas irá ao sacerdote e dirá: ‘Minha casa parece ter manchas de mofo’. 36 Antes de entrar para examinar a casa, o sacerdote mandará esvaziá-la, a fim de que nada dentro dela seja declarado cerimonialmente impuro. Em seguida, entrará na casa 37 e examinará o mofo nas paredes. Se encontrar manchas esverdeadas ou avermelhadas e a contaminação parecer mais profunda que a superfície da parede, 38 o sacerdote sairá pela porta e isolará a casa por sete dias. 39 No sétimo dia, o sacerdote voltará para examiná-la. Se constatar que as manchas se espalharam nas paredes, 40 o sacerdote ordenará que as pedras das áreas afetadas sejam removidas e levadas para fora da cidade, até um lugar cerimonialmente impuro. 41 Depois disso, as paredes internas da casa serão inteiramente raspadas, e o material raspado será jogado num lugar impuro fora da cidade. 42 Outras pedras serão trazidas para substituir as que foram removidas, e as paredes serão rebocadas com barro novo.

43 "Se, contudo, o mofo reaparecer depois de todas as pedras terem sido substituídas e de a casa ter sido raspada e rebocada de novo, 44 o sacerdote voltará e examinará a casa. Se constatar que as manchas de mofo se espalharam, é evidente que as paredes foram contaminadas por mofo corrosivo, e a casa está impura. 45 Será demolida e suas pedras, madeiras e todo o seu reboco serão levados para fora da cidade, até um lugar cerimonialmente impuro. 46 Quem entrar na casa durante o período de isolamento ficará cerimonialmente impuro até o entardecer. 47 Quem dormir ou comer na casa deverá lavar suas roupas.

48 "Se, contudo, o sacerdote voltar para examinar a casa e constatar que as manchas de mofo não reapareceram depois de colocado o reboco novo, ele a declarará pura, pois é evidente que o mofo desapareceu. 49 A fim de purificar a casa, o sacerdote pegará duas aves, um pedaço de madeira de cedro, um pano vermelho e um ramo de hissopo. 50 Matará uma das aves sobre uma vasilha de barro cheia de água limpa. 51 Pegará o pedaço de madeira de cedro, o ramo de hissopo, o pano vermelho e a ave viva e os molhará no sangue da ave morta e na água limpa. Em seguida, aspergirá a mistura sobre a casa sete vezes. 52 Quando o sacerdote tiver purificado a casa exatamente dessa forma, 53 soltará a ave viva em campo aberto fora da cidade. Desse modo, o sacerdote fará expiação pela casa, e ela ficará cerimonialmente pura.

54 "Essas são as instruções para lidar com a lepra, incluindo feridas de sarna, 55 com manchas de mofo sobre peças de roupa ou numa casa, 56 e com inchaços, erupções ou descolorações da pele. 57 Esse procedimento determinará se a pessoa ou objeto está cerimonialmente puro ou impuro.

"Essas são as instruções a respeito da lepra e do mofo".

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

2 "This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought to the priest, 3 and the priest shall go out of the camp. The priest shall examine him. Behold, if the plague of leprosy is healed in the leper, 4 then the priest shall command them to take for him who is to be cleansed two living clean birds, cedar wood, scarlet, and hyssop. 5 The priest shall command them to kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water. 6 As for the living bird, he shall take it, the cedar wood, the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water. 7 He shall sprinkle on him who is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird go into the open field.

8 "He who is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water; and he shall be clean. After that he shall come into the camp, but shall dwell outside his tent seven days. 9 It shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows. He shall shave off all his hair. He shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his body in water. Then he shall be clean.

10 "On the eighth day he shall take two male lambs without defect, one ewe lamb a year old without defect, three tenths of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering, mixed with oil, and one log of oil. 11 The priest who cleanses him shall set the man who is to be cleansed, and those things, before Yahweh, at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

12 "The priest shall take one of the male lambs, and offer him for a trespass offering, with the log of oil, and wave them for a wave offering before Yahweh. 13 He shall kill the male lamb in the place where they kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the place of the sanctuary; for as the sin offering is the priest’s, so is the trespass offering. It is most holy. 14 The priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. 15 The priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand. 16 The priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before Yahweh. 17 The priest shall put some of the rest of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering. 18 The rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put on the head of him who is to be cleansed, and the priest shall make atonement for him before Yahweh.

19 "The priest shall offer the sin offering, and make atonement for him who is to be cleansed because of his uncleanness. Afterward he shall kill the burnt offering; 20 then the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the meal offering on the altar. The priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

21 "If he is poor, and can’t afford so much, then he shall take one male lamb for a trespass offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, and one tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil for a meal offering, and a log of oil; 22 and two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to afford; and the one shall be a sin offering, and the other a burnt offering.

23 "On the eighth day he shall bring them for his cleansing to the priest, to the door of the Tent of Meeting, before Yahweh. 24 The priest shall take the lamb of the trespass offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before Yahweh. 25 He shall kill the lamb of the trespass offering. The priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering and put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. 26 The priest shall pour some of the oil into the palm of his own left hand; 27 and the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before Yahweh. 28 Then the priest shall put some of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the place of the blood of the trespass offering. 29 The rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put on the head of him who is to be cleansed, to make atonement for him before Yahweh. 30 He shall offer one of the turtledoves, or of the young pigeons, which ever he is able to afford, 31 of the kind he is able to afford, the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, with the meal offering. The priest shall make atonement for him who is to be cleansed before Yahweh."

32 This is the law for him in whom is the plague of leprosy, who is not able to afford the sacrifice for his cleansing.

33 Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 34 "When you have come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put a spreading mildew in a house in the land of your possession, 35 then he who owns the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, ‘There seems to me to be some sort of plague in the house.’ 36 The priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest goes in to examine the plague, that all that is in the house not be made unclean. Afterward the priest shall go in to inspect the house. 37 He shall examine the plague; and behold, if the plague is in the walls of the house with hollow streaks, greenish or reddish, and it appears to be deeper than the wall, 38 then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days. 39 The priest shall come again on the seventh day, and look. If the plague has spread in the walls of the house, 40 then the priest shall command that they take out the stones in which is the plague, and cast them into an unclean place outside of the city. 41 He shall cause the inside of the house to be scraped all over. They shall pour out the mortar that they scraped off outside of the city into an unclean place. 42 They shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other mortar, and shall plaster the house.

43 "If the plague comes again, and breaks out in the house after he has taken out the stones, and after he has scraped the house, and after it was plastered, 44 then the priest shall come in and look; and behold, if the plague has spread in the house, it is a destructive mildew in the house. It is unclean. 45 He shall break down the house, its stones, and its timber, and all the house’s mortar. He shall carry them out of the city into an unclean place.

46 "Moreover he who goes into the house while it is shut up shall be unclean until the evening. 47 He who lies down in the house shall wash his clothes; and he who eats in the house shall wash his clothes.

48 "If the priest shall come in, and examine it, and behold, the plague hasn’t spread in the house, after the house was plastered, then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed. 49 To cleanse the house he shall take two birds, cedar wood, scarlet, and hyssop. 50 He shall kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water. 51 He shall take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird, and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times. 52 He shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, with the living bird, with the cedar wood, with the hyssop, and with the scarlet; 53 but he shall let the living bird go out of the city into the open field. So shall he make atonement for the house; and it shall be clean."

54 This is the law for any plague of leprosy, and for an itch, 55 and for the destructive mildew of a garment, and for a house, 56 and for a swelling, and for a scab, and for a bright spot; 57 to teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean.

This is the law of leprosy.
