1 Tocou então a sua trombeta o quinto anjo. E vi uma estrela que caiu do céu à Terra. Foi-lhe dada a chave do abismo insondável.
2 E quando o abriu, saiu dali fumo, como se fosse de uma imensa fornalha, a ponto de escurecer completamente o ar e o Sol.
3 E saíram gafanhotos do meio daquele grande fumo que desceram sobre a Terra; e deram-lhes poder para ferroar como os escorpiões.
4 Foi-lhes dito que poupassem a vegetação da Terra, a erva, os arbustos, as árvores, e que atacassem somente as pessoas que não tinham nas suas testas a marca de Deus.-
5 Não deviam matá-las, mas sim torturá-las durante cinco meses com um sofrimento semelhante ao que provoca a picada do escorpião.
6 Durante esse tempo os homens hão-de querer morrer, procurando matar-se e não serão capazes de o fazer - a morte não lhes vem, fugirá deles!
7 Esses gafanhotos pareciam cavalos aparelhados como para a guerra; traziam na cabeça umas como que coroas de ouro, e o seu focinho assemelhava-se ao rosto de homens.
8 Tinham na cabeça cabelos compridos, como as mulheres, e viam-se-lhes dentes como de leão.
9 Traziam o peito protegido por uma couraça de ferro, e quando batiam as asas faziam barulho como um batalhão de carros de combate avançando para a luta.
10 Tinham caudas armadas de um ferrão, tal como os escorpiões, e era com isso que podiam ferir as pessoas, durante cinco meses, como lhes tinham ordenado.•
11 O seu comandante é o anjo do abismo profundo, cujo nome em hebraico é Abadom, e em grego é Apolion .
12 Assim terminou a primeira desgraça, mas há ainda mais duas para vir!
13 O sexto anjo tocou a sua trombeta e ouvi uma voz falando a partir dos quatro cantos do altar de ouro diante de Deus, ea
14 dirigia-se ao sexto anjo dizendo: Solta os quatro anjos que estão amarrados junto do grande rio Eufrates.
15 Eles tinham sido mantidos prontos para aquele momento exacto - precisamente para aquele ano e mês e dia e hora. Foram então soltos para que matassem uma terça parte da humanidade
16 E dirigiam um exército de 200 milhões de militares, segundo o número que eu ouvi anunciar.
17 Os cavalos desse exército eram montados por cavaleiros com couraças cor de fogo umas, e outras azuis e amarelas. As cabeças dos cavalos assemelhavam-se às de leões, e saía fogo, enxofre incandescente e fumo das suas bocas;
18 assim mataram uma terça parte de toda a humanidade
19 O poder que tinham para matar estava nas suas bocas e também nas caudas, porque estas eram semelhantes a cabeças de serpentes, que podiam ferir mortalmente.
20 E os outros seres humanos que não foram mortos por essas pragas, mesmo assim não se arrependeram das suas obras más! Não quiseram abandonar o seu culto aos demónios, nem deixar os ídolos de ouro, prata, bronze, pedra e madeira, e que não podem ver, nem ouvir, nem andar!
21 Não quiseram pois arrepender-se dos seus assassínios, das suas bruxarias, dos seus actos de imoralidade e dos seus roubos.
1 And, the fifth messenger, sounded; and I saw a star, out of heaven, fallen unto the earth, and there was given unto him the key of the shaft of the abyss.
2 And he opened the shaft of the abyss; and there came up a smoke out of the shaft, as the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened, by reason of the smoke of the shaft.
3 And, out of the smoke, came forth, locusts, upon the earth; and there was given unto them licence, as the scorpions of the earth have licence.
4 And it was bidden them that they should not injure the herbage of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree,but only the men who have not the seal of God upon their foreheads.
5 And it was given unto them, that they should not slay them, but that they should be tormented five months; and, the torture of them, was as of a scorpions torture, whensoever it smiteth a man.
6 And, in those days, shall men seek death, and in nowise shall find it, and shall covet to die, and death fleeth from them.
7 And, the likenesses of the locusts, were like unto horses prepared for battle; and, upon their heads, as it were crowns, like unto gold, and, their faces, were as the faces of men,
8 and, they had hair, as the hair of women, and, their teeth, were, as of lions,
9 and they had breastplates as breastplates of iron, and, the sound of their wings, was as the sound of chariots of many horses, running into battle;
10 and they have tails like unto scorpions, and stings, and, in their tails, is their licence to injure men five months.
11 They have over them, as king, the messenger of the abyss, whose name, in Hebrew, is Abaddon "=Destroyer" , and, in the Greek, he hath for name, Destroyer.
12 The first, Woe, hath passed away, lo! there come, yet, two, Woes, after these things.
13 And, the sixth messenger, sounded; and I heard one voice, from among the horns of the altar of gold which is before God,
14 saying unto the sixth messenger, who was holding the trumpetLoose the four messengers, who are bound at the great river Euphrates.
15 And the four messengers were loosed, who had been prepared for the hour, and day, and month, and year, that they should slay the third of men.
16 And, the number of the armies of the horsemen, was twice ten thousand times ten thousandI heard the number of them.
17 And, thus, saw I the horses in the vision,and them who were sitting upon them, having breastplates as of fire and hyacinth and brimstone;and, the heads of the horses, were as heads of lions, and, out of their mouths, come forth fire and smoke and brimstone:
18 by these three plagues, were slain, the third part of mankind, by reason of the fire and the smoke and the brimstone, that proceedeth out of their mouths;
19 for, the licence of the horses, is, in their mouth, and in their tails, for, their tails, are like unto serpents, having heads, and, with them, they injure.
20 And, the rest of mankind who were not slain by these plagues, repented not of the works of their hands,that they should not do homage unto the demons, nor unto the idols of gold and of silver and of copper and of stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk;
21 Neither repented they of their murders, or of their sorceries, or of their lewdnesses, or of their thefts.
