1 Meus irmãos, o grande desejo do meu coração e a minha oração é que o povo judeu possa ser salvo.
2 Eu sei como eles defendem ardorosamente a honra de Deus, mas é um zelo sem entendimento.
3 Eles não entendem que Cristo morreu para os pôr em ordem com Deus. E em vez disso, continuam a procurar fazer-se suficientemente bons para ganhar o favor de Deus, tentando guardar a lei, e não se sujeitam ao caminho de Deus para a salvação
4 Eles não percebem que Cristo oferece àqueles que nele confiam tudo aquilo que afinal tentam obter pela observação da lei.
5 Porque Moisés escreveu que a maneira da lei fazer uma pessoa justa para com Deus requer obediência a todos os seus mandamentos.
6 Não digas no teu coração: Não precisas de ir ao céu (para encontrar Cristo e trazê-lo para te ajudar).
7 E diz mais: Não precisas de ir ao lugar da morte (para trazer Cristo de novo à vida).
8 A salvação que vem por confiar em Cristo - que é a mensagem que pregamos - já está ao teu fácil alcance. De facto, a Escritura diz: A mensagem está mesmo à mão; na tua boca e no teu coração.
9 Se com a tua boca confessares que Jesus Cristo é o Senhor e no teu coração creres que Deus o ressuscitou dos mortos, serás salvo.ÿ
10 Porque é crendo que uma pessoa se põe em ordem perante Deus; e é declarando, em voz clara, que a salvação se afirma.
11 Porque a Escritura diz: Todo o que crê nele não ficará decepcionado. B
12 E nisto, entre judeus e os outros povos não há diferença: todos têm o mesmo Senhor que dá generosamente as suas riquezas aos que lhas pedirem.
13 Porque: Todo aquele que chamar pelo nome do Senhor será salvo.
14 Mas como chamarão por ele aqueles que ainda não crêem nele? E como hão-de crer nele se nunca ouviram falar dele? E como ouvirão a seu respeito se ninguém lhes falar dele? E como irá alguém para lhes falar se não for enviado? É disso que falam as Escrituras quando dizem: Como são belos os pés daqueles que anunciam boas novas.
16 Mas nem todos responderam a essa voz do evangelho, porque Isaías, o profeta, disse: Senhor, quem acreditou quando falei?
17 Na verdade, a fé vem por ouvir esta mensagem de boas novas - as boas novas acerca de Cristo.
1 Brethren! the delight of my own heart and my supplication God-ward in their behalf, are for salvation;
2 For I bear them witness that they have, a zeal for God,but not according to correct knowledge;
3 For, not knowing Gods righteousness and, their own, seeking to establish, unto the righteousness of God, have they not submitted;
4 For Christ is an end of law, for righteousness, unto every one that believeth.
5 For, Moses, writeth thatas touching the righteousness that is by law, The man that hath done , shall live thereby;
6 Whereas, the righteousness by faith, thus speakethDo not say in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? That is, to bring, Christ, down,
7 Or, Who shall descend into the abyss? That is, to bring up, Christ, from among the dead;
8 But what saith it? Near thee, is the declaration, In thy mouth and in thy heart,that is, the declaration of the faith, which we proclaim:
9 That, if thou shalt confess the declaration with thy mouthThat Jesus is, Lord, and shalt believe with thy hearThat, God, raised him from among the dead, thou shalt be saved;
10 For, in heart, it is to be believed unto righteousness, and, by mouth, it is to be confessed unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saithNo one that resteth faith thereupon, shall be put to shame?
12 For there is no distinctionof Jew or Greek,for, the same , is Lord of all, being rich unto all who call upon him;
13 For, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved:
14 How, then, shall men call upon one in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in one of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear, without one to proclaim?
15 And how shall they proclaim, except they be sent? Even as it is writtenHow beautiful the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But, not all, have become obedient unto the glad tidings;for, Isaiah, saithLord! who believed what we have heard?
17 Hence, our faith, cometh by something heard, and, that which is heard, through a declaration of Christ.
18 But I say: Have they not heard? Yea indeed,into all the earth, hath gone forth their sound, and, unto the ends of the inhabited world, their declarations.
19 But I say: Hath, Israel, not come to know? First, Moses, saithI, will provoke you to jealousy on account of a no-nation, on account of an undiscerning nation, will I make you very angry.
20 Isaiah, however, waxeth daring, and saith,I have been found by them who after me were not seeking, manifest have I become unto them who for me were not enquiring;
21 Whereas, regarding Israel, he saithAll day long, have I stretched forth my hands unto a people unyielding and contradicting.
