1 He that loveth correction, loveth knowledge, but, he that hateth reproof, is brutish.2 A good man, obtaineth favour from Yahweh, but, a man of wicked devices, will he condemn.3 A son of earth, shall not be established, by lawlessness, but, the root of the righteous, shall not be disturbed.4 A virtuous woman, is the crown of her husband, but, a veritable decay in his bones, is she that causeth shame.5 The plans of the righteous, are just, but, the counsels of the lawless, are deceitful.6 The words of the lawless, areof lying in wait for blood, but, the mouth of the upright, shall deliver them.7 Overthrown are the lawless and they are not, but, the house of the righteous, shall stand.8 In proportion to his prudence, is a man, to be praised, but, the perverse in heart, shall be an object of contempt.9 Better slighted, and have a servant, than to honour oneself, and come short of bread.10 A righteous man, regardeth the desire of his beast, but, the compassions of the lawless, are cruel.11 He that tilleth his land, shall be filled with food, but, he that runneth after worthless men, lacketh sense.12 A lawless man craveth the prey of the wicked, but, the root of the righteous, is enduring.13 By the transgression of the lips, is the wicked man, ensnared, but the righteous, cometh out of distress.14 Of the fruit of a mans mouth, shall he be satisfied with good, and, the dealing of the hands of a son of earth, shall be paid back to him.15 The way of the foolish, is right in his own eyes, but, he that hearkeneth to counsel, is wise.16 A foolish man, on the17 He that whispereth faithfulness, declareth righteousness, but, a false witness, is a fraud.18 There is who babbleth, as with thrusts of a sword, but, the tongue of the wise, hath healing.19 A lip that is faithful, shall be firm to futurity, but, only for a twinkling, is the tongue that is false.20 Deceit, is in the heart of contrivers of mischief, but, to the counsellors of peace, shall be joy.21 Unseemly to the righteous, is any trouble, but, the lawless, are full of misfortune.22 An abomination to Yahweh, are lips that are false, but, he that dealeth faithfully, is his delight.23 A prudent man, concealeth knowledge, but, the heart of dullards, proclaimeth folly.24 The hand of the diligent, shall hear rule, but, the indolent, shall come under tribute.25 When anxiety is in the heart of a man, one may bow him down, but, a good word, maketh him glad.26 The righteous man guideth his neighbour, but, the way of the lawless, leadeth them astray.27 Indolence, roasteth not, his own game, but, the substance of a man, is precious, when he is diligent.28 In the way of righteousness, is life, and, in the path thereof, immortality,

1 O que ama a correção ama o conhecimento, mas o que aborrece a repreensão é um bruto. 2 O homem de bem alcançará o favor do Senhor, mas ao homem de perversas imaginações ele condenará. 3 O homem não se estabelecerá pela impiedade, mas a raiz dos justos não será removida. 4 A mulher virtuosa é a coroa do seu marido, mas a que procede vergonhosamente é como apodrecimento nos seus ossos. 5 Os pensamentos do justo são retos, mas os conselhos do ímpio, engano. 6 As palavras dos ímpios são para armarem ciladas ao sangue, mas a boca dos retos os livrará. 7 Transtornados serão os ímpios e não serão mais, mas a casa dos justos permanecerá. 8 Segundo o seu entendimento, será louvado cada qual, mas o perverso de coração estará em desprezo. 9 Melhor é o que se estima em pouco e tem servos do que o que se honra a si mesmo e tem falta de pão. 10 O justo olha pela vida dos seus animais, mas as misericórdias dos ímpios são cruéis. 11 O que lavra a sua terra se fartará de pão, mas o que segue os ociosos está falto de juízo. 12 Deseja o ímpio a rede dos maus, mas a raiz dos justos produz o seu fruto. 13 O laço do ímpio está na transgressão dos lábios, mas o justo sairá da angústia. 14 Cada um se farta de bem pelo fruto da sua boca, e o que as mãos do homem fizerem isso ele receberá. 15 O caminho do tolo é reto aos seus olhos, mas o que dá ouvidos ao conselho é sábio. 16 A ira do louco se conhece no mesmo dia, mas o avisado encobre a afronta. 17 O que diz a verdade manifesta a justiça, mas a testemunha falsa engana. 18 Há alguns cujas palavras são como pontas de espada, mas a língua dos sábios é saúde. 19 O lábio de verdade ficará para sempre, mas a língua mentirosa dura só um momento. 20 Engano há no coração dos que maquinam mal, mas alegria têm os que aconselham a paz. 21 Nenhum agravo sobrevirá ao justo, mas os ímpios ficam cheios de mal. 22 Os lábios mentirosos são abomináveis ao Senhor, mas os que agem fielmente são o seu deleite. 23 O homem avisado encobre o conhecimento, mas o coração dos tolos proclama a estultícia. 24 A mão dos diligentes dominará, mas os enganadores serão tributários. 25 A solicitude no coração do homem o abate, mas uma boa palavra o alegra. 26 O justo é um guia para o seu companheiro, mas o caminho dos ímpios os faz errar. 27 O preguiçoso não assará a sua caça, mas o bem precioso do homem é ser diligente. 28 Na vereda da justiça está a vida, e no caminho da sua carreira não há morte.
