1 Every, wise woman, buildeth up her house, but, a foolish one, with her own hands, would break it down.2 He that walketh in his uprightness, is one who revereth Yahweh, but, he that is crooked in his way, is one who despiseth him.3 In the mouth of the foolish, is a haughty rod, but, as for the lips of the wise, thou shalt give heed to them!4 Without cattle, the crib is clean, but, much increase, is in the strength of the ox.5 A faithful witness, will not deceive, but a false witness, uttereth deceitful things.6 A scoffer seeketh wisdom, and there is none, but, knowledge, to the discerning, is easy.7 Get thee from the presence of a man that is a dullard, when thou perceivest not the lips of knowledge.8 The wisdom of the prudent, is to understand his way, but, the folly of dullards, is a fraud.9 the foolish, scoff at guilt, but, between the upright, is good pleasure.10 The heart, knoweth its own bitterness, and, in its joy, no stranger shareth.11 The house of the lawless, shall be destroyed, but, the tent of the upright, shall flourish.12 There is a way that enticeth a man, but, at the latter end thereof, are the ways of death!13 Even, in laughter, the heart may be in pain, and, the latter end of gladness, be grief.14 With his own ways, shall be filled the backslider in heart, and, from himself, shall a good man15 The simple, believeth every word, but, the prudent, looketh well to his going.16 A wise man, feareth, and avoideth evil, but, a dullard, is haughty and confident.17 The impatient, worketh folly, and, a man of wicked devices, is hated.18 The simple inherit folly, but, the shrewd, crowneth himself with knowledge.19 Abased are the wicked, before the good, and, the lawless, at the gates of the righteous.20 Even by his neighbour, is poor man hated, but, the lovers of the rich man, are many.21 He that sheweth contempt for his neighbour, sinneth, but, he that sheweth favour to the afflicted, how happy is he!22 Shall they not, become vagrants, who devise evil? but, lovingkindness and faithfulness,23 By all labour, there will be abundance, but, the talk of the lips, tendeth only to want.24 the crown of the wise, is their wealth, but, the folly of dullards, is, folly.25 A deliverer of souls, is a faithful witness, but, he that uttereth falsehoods, is a fraud.26 In the reverence of Yahweh, is strong security, and, his children, shall have a place of refuge.27 The reverence of Yahweh, is a well-spring of life, that a man may avoid the snares of death.28 In the multitude of a people, is the majesty of the king, but, in the ceasing of population, is the ruin of the prince.29 One slow to anger, hath great understanding, but, the hasty in spirit, exalteth folly.30 The life of the whole body, is a tranquil mind, but, a decay of the bones, is jealousy.31 The oppressor of the poor, hath reproached his Maker, but he that sheweth favour to the needy, is one who, holdeth Him in honour.32 By his own wickedness, shall the lawless man, be thrust down, but the righteous, seeketh refuge in his integrity.33 In the heart of the intelligent, reposeth wisdom, but, in the midst of dullards, it maketh itself known.34 Righteousness, exalteth a nation, but, a reproach to any people, is sin.35 The good-pleasure of a king, is due to a servant who is discreet, but, his indignation, shall be against him that bringeth shame.

1 Toda mulher sábia edifica a sua casa, mas a tola derriba-a com as suas mãos. 2 O que anda na sua sinceridade teme ao Senhor, mas o que se desvia de seus caminhos despreza-o. 3 Na boca do tolo está a vara da soberba, mas os lábios do sábio preservá-lo-ão. 4 Não havendo bois, o celeiro fica limpo, mas, pela força do boi, há abundância de colheitas. 5 A testemunha verdadeira não mentirá, mas a testemunha falsa se desboca em mentiras. 6 O escarnecedor busca sabedoria e não a acha, mas para o prudente o conhecimento é fácil. 7 Vai-te à presença do homem insensato e nele não divisarás os lábios do conhecimento. 8 A sabedoria do prudente é entender o seu caminho, mas a estultícia dos tolos é enganar. 9 Os loucos zombam do pecado, mas entre os retos há boa vontade. 10 O coração conhece a sua própria amargura, e o estranho não se entremeterá na sua alegria. 11 A casa dos ímpios se desfará, mas a tenda dos retos florescerá. 12 Há caminho que ao homem parece direito, mas o fim dele são os caminhos da morte. 13 Até no riso terá dor o coração, e o fim da alegria é tristeza. 14 Dos seus caminhos se fartará o infiel de coração, mas o homem bom se fartará de si mesmo. 15 O simples dá crédito a cada palavra, mas o prudente atenta para os seus passos. 16 O sábio teme e desvia-se do mal, mas o tolo encoleriza-se e dá-se por seguro. 17 O que presto se ira fará doidices, e o homem de más imaginações será aborrecido. 18 Os simples herdarão a estultícia, mas os prudentes se coroarão de conhecimento. 19 Os maus inclinam-se perante a face dos bons, e os ímpios, diante das portas do justo. 20 O pobre é aborrecido até do companheiro, mas os amigos dos ricos são muitos. 21 O que despreza ao seu companheiro peca, mas o que se compadece dos humildes é bem-aventurado. 22 Porventura, não erram os que praticam o mal? Mas beneficência e fidelidade haverá para os que praticam o bem. 23 Em todo trabalho há proveito, mas a palavra dos lábios só encaminha para a pobreza. 24 A coroa dos sábios é a sua riqueza, a estultícia dos tolos é só estultícia. 25 A testemunha verdadeira livra as almas, mas o que se desboca em mentiras é enganador. 26 No temor do Senhor, há firme confiança, e ele será um refúgio para seus filhos. 27 O temor do Senhor é uma fonte de vida para preservar dos laços da morte. 28 Na multidão do povo está a magnificência do rei, mas, na falta de povo, a perturbação do príncipe. 29 O longânimo é grande em entendimento, mas o de ânimo precipitado exalta a loucura. 30 O coração com saúde é a vida da carne, mas a inveja é a podridão dos ossos. 31 O que oprime ao pobre insulta aquele que o criou, mas o que se compadece do necessitado honra-o. 32 Pela sua malícia, será lançado fora o ímpio, mas o justo até na sua morte tem esperança. 33 No coração do prudente, repousa a sabedoria, mas o que há no interior dos tolos se conhece. 34 A justiça exalta as nações, mas o pecado é o opróbrio dos povos. 35 O rei tem seu contentamento no servo prudente, mas, sobre o que procede indignamente, cairá o seu furor.
