A mulher e o dragão

1 Foi visto um grande *Ap 12.3; cp.Mt 24.30sinal *Ap 11.19no céu: *cp.Gl 4.26uma mulher *Sl 104.2;Ct 6.10vestida do sol, tendo a lua debaixo dos seus pés e uma coroa de doze estrelas sobre a sua cabeça; 2 e, estando grávida, *cp.Is 26.17;66.6-9;Mq 4.9-10gritava com as dores do parto e sofria tormentos para dar à luz. 3 Foi visto também *cp.Ap 12.1;Ap 15.1outro sinal no céu; eis um grande *Ap 12.4,7; esp.12.9,13,16s.;Ap 13.2,4,11;16.13;20.2; cp.Is 27.1dragão vermelho, com *Ap 13.1;17.3,7,9ss.sete cabeças *Ap 13.1;17.12,16;Dn 7.7,20,24e dez chifres, e, nas suas cabeças, *cp.Ap 13.1;19.12sete diademas; 4 e a sua cauda arrastava a *Ap 8.7,12terça parte das estrelas do céu, *Dn 8.10e lançou-as sobre a terra. O dragão parou em frente da mulher que estava para dar à luz, a fim de *cp.Mt 2.16devorar ao filho dela, logo que ela o tivesse dado à luz. 5 Ela deu à luz um filho varão, que há de *Ap 2.27reger todas as nações com uma vara de ferro; e o seu filho foi *2Co 12.2arrebatado para Deus e para o seu trono. 6 A mulher fugiu para o deserto, onde Deus lhe havia preparado um lugar, para ser ali alimentada durante *Ap 11.3; cp.13.5mil e duzentos e sessenta dias.

O dragão é lançado do céu para a terra. O triunfo de Cristo e do seu povo

7 Houve no céu uma guerra, pelejando *Jd 9Miguel e seus anjos contra *Ap 12.3o dragão. O dragão e *Mt 25.41seus anjos pelejaram 8 e não prevaleceram; nem o seu lugar se achou mais no céu. 9 Foi precipitado o grande dragão, a antiga *Ap 12.15;Ap 20.2; cp.Gn 3.1;2Co 11.3serpente, que se chama Diabo e *Mt 4.10;25.41Satanás, aquele *Ap 20.3,8,10; cp.13.14que engana todo o mundo; sim, foi *cp.Lc 10.18;Jo 12.31precipitado na terra, e, precipitados com ele, os seus anjos. 10 Ouvi uma *cp.Ap 11.15grande voz no céu dizendo:

Agora, é vinda a *Ap 7.10salvação, e o poder, e *cp.Ap 11.15o reino do nosso Deus, e a autoridade do seu Cristo, porque foi precipitado o *Jó 1.11;2.5;Zc 3.1; cp.Lc 22.31;1Pe 5.8acusador de nossos irmãos, que os acusava de dia e de noite, diante do nosso Deus.

11 Eles *Ap 15.2;Jo 16.33;1Jo 2.13o venceram pelo *Ap 7.14sangue do Cordeiro e *cp.Ap 6.9pela palavra do seu testemunho; e *cp.Ap 2.10;Lc 14.26não amaram as suas vidas até a morte. 12 Por isso, *Ap 18.20;Sl 96.11;Is 44.23exultai, ó céus e *Ap 13.6vós que neles habitais. *Ap 8.13Ai da terra e do mar, porque desceu a vós o *Ap 12.9Diabo cheio de grande ira, sabendo que *Ap 10.6pouco tempo lhe resta!

O dragão persegue a mulher

13 Quando o *Ap 12.3dragão se viu precipitado na terra, perseguiu *Ap 12.5a mulher que dera à luz o filho varão. 14 Foram dadas à mulher as *Êx 19.4;Dt 32.11;Is 40.31duas asas da grande águia, a fim de voar *Ap 12.6para o deserto, ao seu lugar, onde é alimentada *Dn 7.25;12.7um tempo, dois tempos e a metade de um tempo, fora da presença da serpente. 15 A serpente lançou da sua boca, atrás da mulher, água *Os 5.10;Is 59.19como um rio, para fazer que ela fosse arrebatada pela corrente. 16 Mas a terra ajudou à mulher; abriu a terra a sua boca e engoliu o rio que o dragão tinha vomitado da sua boca. 17 O dragão irou-se contra a mulher e foi *Ap 11.7;13.7fazer guerra *Gn 3.15ao restante dos filhos dela, *Ap 14.12;1Jo 2.3que guardam os mandamentos de Deus e *Ap 1.2;6.9;14.12;19.10mantêm o testemunho de Jesus;

1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. 3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. 5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. 6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. 7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. 13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. 14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
