Salmo de Davi

1 Bendito seja Jeová, *Sl 18.2rocha minha,

que *Sl 18.34adestra as minhas mãos para a batalha

e os meus dedos, para a guerra;

2 que é a minha benignidade e a *Sl 18.2;91.2minha fortaleza,

o meu alto *Sl 59.9refúgio e o meu libertador,

o meu *Sl 3.3;28.7;84.9escudo e aquele a quem me acolho;

ele é quem me *Sl 18.39sujeita o meu povo.

3 Ó Jeová, *Sl 8.4que é o homem para que dele tomes conhecimento?

Ou o filho do homem, para que dele faças conta?

4 O *Sl 39.11homem é semelhante a um sopro;

e os seus *Sl 102.11;109.23;Jó 8.9;14.2dias são como a sombra que passa.

5 *Sl 18.9Abaixa, Jeová, os teus céus e *Is 64.1desce;

*Sl 104.32toca os montes, e fumegarão.

6 Despede *Sl 18.14relâmpagos e dissipa-os;

Arremessa as tuas *Sl 7.13;58.7;Hc 3.11;Zc 9.14setas, e desbarata-os.

7 Estende lá *Sl 18.16do alto a tua mão;

salva-me e *Sl 69.1,14livra-me de muitas águas,

da mão do *Sl 18.44;54.3estrangeiro,

8 cuja boca *Sl 12.2;41.6fala vaidade,

e cuja *Sl 106.26;Gn 14.22;Dt 32.40;Is 44.20direita é direita de falsidade.

9 a ti, ó Deus, cantarei um *Sl 40.3novo cântico;

no *Sl 33.2saltério de dez cordas, te cantarei louvores.

10 É ele quem *Sl 18.50dá aos reis a salvação;

quem *Sl 140.7;2Sm 18.7livra da espada maligna a Davi, seu servo.

11 Salva-me e livra-me da mão de *Sl 18.44;54.3estrangeiros,

cuja boca *Sl 12.2;41.6profere vaidade,

e cuja *Sl 106.26;Gn 14.22;Dt 32.40;Is 44.20direita é direita de falsidade;

12 para que nossos filhos sejam na sua mocidade como *Sl 92.12-14;128.3plantas bem desenvolvidas,

e nossas filhas, como *Ct 4.4;7.4pedras angulares, lavradas como as de palácio;

13 para que sejam atulhados os nossos *Pv 3.9-10celeiros, fornecendo toda sorte de provisões;

para que as nossas ovelhas produzam a milhares e a dezenas de milhares em nossos campos;

14 para que os nossos *Pv 14.4bois tirem carros bem carregados;

para que não haja *Sl 60.2;2Rs 25.10-11invasão, nem *Am 5.3sortida,

nem *Is 24.11;Jr 14.2gritos em nossas ruas.

15 Feliz é o povo a quem assim sucede!

Sim *Sl 33.12feliz é o povo cujo Deus é Jeová!

3 LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!

4 Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away.

5 Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

6 Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.

7 Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;*144.7 hand from: Heb. hands from

8 Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

9 I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

11 Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:

12 That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:*144.12 polished: Heb. cut

13 That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:*144.13 all…: Heb. from kind to kind

14 That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.*144.14 strong…: Heb. able to bear burdens, or, loaden with flesh

15 Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.
