Exortação a que se confie somente em Deus

1 Somente em Deus *Sl 59.9espera silenciosa a minha alma.

Dele *Sl 37.39vem a minha salvação.

2 Ele só é a minha *Sl 89.26rocha e a minha salvação;

é ele a minha *Sl 62.6alta torre, não serei grandemente abalado.

3 Até quando acometereis vós a um homem,

todos vós para o derrubardes a ele,

como se fosse *Is 30.13uma parede pendida, um muro prestes a cair?

4 Cuidam só em derrubá-lo da sua dignidade;

eles se *Sl 4.2comprazem na mentira;

com a boca *Sl 28.3;55.21bendizem, mas interiormente maldizem. (Selá)

5 *Sl 62.1Espera silenciosa somente em Deus, ó minha alma,

pois dele vem a minha esperança.

6 Ele só é a *Sl 62.2minha rocha e a minha salvação.

É ele a minha alta torre; não serei abalado.

7 De Deus depende a *Sl 85.9minha salvação e a minha glória;

a rocha da minha fortaleza e *Sl 46.1a minha salvação estão em Deus.

*Is 40.15na balança, subirão;

juntos, são mais leves do que a vaidade.

10 *Is 30.12Não confieis na opressão

e não vos vanglorieis na *Is 61.8;Ez 22.29;Na 3.1rapina.

Se as riquezas aumentarem, não *Sl 49.6;52.7;Jó 31.25;Mc 10.24;Lc 12.15;1Tm 6.10ponhais nelas o coração.

11 Uma vez *Jó 33.14;40.5falou Deus,

duas vezes tenho ouvido isto:

que o *Sl 59.17;Ap 19.1poder pertence a Deus

12 e que *Sl 86.5;103.8;130.7a ti, Senhor, pertence a benignidade.

Porque tu *Sl 28.4;Jó 34.11, ref.;1Co 3.8retribuis a cada um segundo as suas obras.

2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.*62.2 defence: Heb. high place

3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

4 They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.*62.4 inwardly: Heb. in their inward parts

5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.*62.9 altogether: or, alike

10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.*62.11 power: or, strength

12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
