1 *Sl 17.13;59.2;71.4Livra-me, Jeová, do homem perverso,

preserva-me do homem *Sl 18.48;86.14;140.11violento,

2 os quais *Sl 7.14;36.4;52.2;Pv 6.14;Is 59.4;Os 7.15imaginam maldades no seu coração;

estão sempre *Sl 56.6forjando guerras.

3 *Sl 57.4;64.3Aguçam, qual serpente, a sua língua;

*Sl 58.4;Rm 3.13;Tg 3.8veneno de áspides está debaixo da sua língua. (Selá)

4 Guarda-me, Jeová, das mãos dos perversos,

*Sl 140.1preserva-me do homem violento,

os quais procuram *Sl 36.11transtornar os meus passos.

5 Os soberbos *Sl 35.7;141.9;142.3;Jó 18.9esconderam-me laços e cordas,

estenderam *Sl 31.4;57.6;Lm 1.13uma rede à beira do caminho,

7 Ó Senhor Jeová, *Sl 28.8;118.14força da minha salvação,

tu *Sl 144.10cobriste a minha cabeça no dia da batalha.

8 Não concedas, Jeová, os *Sl 112.10desejos do perverso;

não vá por diante *Sl 10.2-3;Et 9.25o seu mau propósito, para que se não exaltem. (Selá)

9 Quanto à cabeça dos que me cercam,

seja coberta com o *Sl 7.16;Pv 18.7mal que fazem os seus lábios.

10 Sobre eles caiam *Sl 11.6brasas vivas;

*Sl 21.9;Mt 3.10ao fogo sejam eles atirados,

a abismos, para que não se *Sl 36.12levantem mais.

11 Não se estabelecerá na terra o caluniador;

*Sl 34.21o mal perseguirá o homem violento com golpe sobre golpe.

12 Sei que Jeová *Sl 9.4;18.27;82.3;1Rs 8.45,49manterá a causa do aflito

e o *Sl 12.5;35.10direito do necessitado.

13 Decerto os *Sl 97.12justos darão graças ao teu nome;

os *Sl 11.7;16.11;17.15retos habitarão na tua presença.

1 Deliver me, Yahweh, from evil men.

Preserve me from violent men:

2 those who devise mischief in their hearts.

They continually gather themselves together for war.

3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent.

Viper’s poison is under their lips. Selah.

4 Yahweh, keep me from the hands of the wicked.

Preserve me from the violent men who have determined to trip my feet.

5 The proud have hidden a snare for me,

they have spread the cords of a net by the path.

They have set traps for me. Selah.

6 I said to Yahweh, "You are my God."

Listen to the cry of my petitions, Yahweh.

7 Yahweh, the Lord, the strength of my salvation,

you have covered my head in the day of battle.

8 Yahweh, don’t grant the desires of the wicked.

Don’t let their evil plans succeed, or they will become proud. Selah.

9 As for the head of those who surround me,

let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10 Let burning coals fall on them.

Let them be thrown into the fire,

into miry pits, from where they never rise.

11 An evil speaker won’t be established in the earth.

Evil will hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

12 I know that Yahweh will maintain the cause of the afflicted,

and justice for the needy.

13 Surely the righteous will give thanks to your name.

The upright will dwell in your presence.
