1 Ο Μωυσής*Σε ορισμένες μετ. ο στ. 1 του παρόντος κεφ. αριθμείται ως 29:40. Και οι στ. 30:2-17 αριθμούνται ως 30:1-16. λοιπόν είπε στους Ισραηλίτες όλα όσα τον διέταξε ο Κύριος.

2 Στη συνέχεια ο Μωυσής έδωσε στους αρχηγούς των φυλών των Ισραηλιτών εκ μέρους του Κυρίου τις ακόλουθες οδηγίες:

3 Αν ένας άντρας κάνει στον Κύριο τάμα ή ορκιστεί να δεσμευθεί με υπόσχεση αποχής από κάτι, δεν μπορεί να παραβεί το λόγο του· πρέπει να τηρήσει όλα όσα υποσχέθηκε.

4 Αν μια νέα γυναίκα, που ζει ακόμα στο σπίτι του πατέρα της, κάνει τάμα στον Κύριο και δεσμευτεί με υπόσχεση αποχής από κάτι, 5 οι δεσμεύσεις της ισχύουν· εκτός αν ο πατέρας της, όταν μάθει γι’ αυτά, της φέρει αντίρρηση. 6 Κι αν ο πατέρας της δεν τα εγκρίνει, τότε όλα της τα τάματα και οι υποσχέσεις της αποχής δεν ισχύουν. Ο Κύριος όμως θα την συγχωρήσει, γιατί ο πατέρας της δεν της επέτρεψε να τις εκπληρώσει.

7 Αν μια ανύπαντρη γυναίκα κάνει τάμα ή υπόσχεση αποχής άθελά της ή χωρίς να το σκεφτεί, 8 και μετά, όταν παντρευτεί, το μάθει ο άντρας της, αλλά δεν της φέρει αντίρρηση, τότε τα τάματά της και οι δεσμεύσεις της αποχής ισχύουν. 9 Αν όμως ο άντρας της δεν τα εγκρίνει, τότε τα τάματα και οι δεσμευτικοί της λόγοι ακυρώνονται, και ο Κύριος θα τη συγχωρήσει. 10 Το τάμα και οποιαδήποτε υπόσχεση αποχής της χήρας ή της χωρισμένης ισχύουν γι’ αυτήν.

11 Αν μια παντρεμένη γυναίκα κάνει τάμα ή δεσμευτεί με όρκο αποχής από κάτι, 12 και το μάθει ο άντρας της αλλά δεν της το απαγορεύσει, τότε θα ισχύουν όλα της τα τάματα και οι δεσμευτικές υποσχέσεις. 13 Αν όμως της τα ακυρώσει ο άντρας της όταν τα μάθει, τότε αυτά δεν ισχύουν. Κι αφού ο άντρας της τα ακύρωσε, ο Κύριος θα τη συγχωρήσει. 14 Ο σύζυγος έχει δικαίωμα να επικυρώνει ή να ακυρώνει κάθε τάμα ή όρκο αποχής της συζύγου από κάτι. 15 Αν ο άντρας της δεν της εκφράσει την αντίρρησή του ως την επόμενη μέρα, επικυρώνει με τη σιωπή του όλα τα τάματα ή τις υποσχέσεις της, που τη δεσμεύουν. 16 Αν όμως αποφασίσει να τα ακυρώσει πολύ μετά από την ημέρα που τα έμαθε, τότε θα είναι αυτός ένοχος για την αμαρτία της γυναίκας του.

17 Αυτοί είναι οι νόμοι που έδωσε ο Κύριος στο Μωυσή σχετικά με τους όρκους της παντρεμένης γυναίκας και της ανύπαντρης που ζει ακόμα στο σπίτι του πατέρα της.*Για την αρίθμηση των στ. βλ. υποσ. εις στ. 1.

1 And Moses spake unto the heads of the tribes concerning the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded. 2 If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.*30.2 break: Heb. profane

3 If a woman also vow a vow unto the LORD, and bind herself by a bond, being in her father’s house in her youth; 4 And her father hear her vow, and her bond wherewith she hath bound her soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand. 5 But if her father disallow her in the day that he heareth; not any of her vows, or of her bonds wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand: and the LORD shall forgive her, because her father disallowed her. 6 And if she had at all an husband, when she vowed, or uttered ought out of her lips, wherewith she bound her soul;*30.6 she vowed: Heb. her vows were upon her 7 And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand. 8 But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it; then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, wherewith she bound her soul, of none effect: and the LORD shall forgive her. 9 But every vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, wherewith they have bound their souls, shall stand against her. 10 And if she vowed in her husband’s house, or bound her soul by a bond with an oath; 11 And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her, and disallowed her not: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she bound her soul shall stand. 12 But if her husband hath utterly made them void on the day he heard them; then whatsoever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand: her husband hath made them void; and the LORD shall forgive her. 13 Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void. 14 But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day; then he establisheth all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her: he confirmeth them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them. 15 But if he shall any ways make them void after that he hath heard them; then he shall bear her iniquity. 16 These are the statutes, which the LORD commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter, being yet in her youth in her father’s house.
