1 Αλληλούια! Αινείτε τον Κύριο!

Αινείτε τον Κύριο απ’ τους ουρανούς,

αινείτε τον στα ύψη!

2 Αυτόν αινείτε

όλοι του οι άγγελοι,

αινείτε τον όλες του οι ουράνιες δυνάμεις!

3 Αυτόν αινείτε

ο ήλιος κι η σελήνη,

αινείτε τον

όλα τ’ άστρα τα φωτεινά!

4 Αινείτε τον

οι ουρανοί των ουρανών,

και τα νερά

που ’ναι πιο πάνω απ’ τα ουράνια!

5 Την ύπαρξη ας αινούνε του Κυρίου,

γιατί αυτός το πρόσταξε

και γίνανε.

6 Τα στέριωσε για πάντα,

για αιώνια,

έδωσε νόμο

και δε θα τον παραβούν.

7 Αινείτε τον Κύριο

απ’ τη γη,

θάλασσα, κήτη κι όλοι οι βυθοί!

8 Φωτιά και χαλάζι,

χιόνι κι ομίχλη,

ανεμοθύελλα,

εσείς που εκτελείτε τις προσταγές του!

9 Βουνά κι όλα τα υψώματα,

δέντρα οπωροφόρα

κι όλοι οι κέδροι.

10 Άγρια ζώα κι όλα τα ήμερα,

όλα όσα έρπετε κι όσα πετάτε!

11 Βασιλιάδες της γης

κι όλοι οι λαοί·

άρχοντες, και της γης

οι κυβερνήτες όλοι!

12 Κοπέλες, παλικάρια,

γέροντες και παιδιά μαζί!

13 Τ’ όνομα του Κυρίου ας αινούν,

γιατί μονάχα η ύπαρξή του υπερέχει·

η δόξα του κυριαρχεί σε γη

και ουρανό!

14 Το κύρος του λαού του εξύψωσε·

ώστε να τον υμνούν όλοι οι πιστοί του,

όλος ο λαός του Ισραήλ,

που ’ναι δικός του και αγαπημένος του.

4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.

5 Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created.

6 He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.

7 Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:

8 Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word:

9 Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:

10 Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:*148.10 flying…: Heb. birds of wing

11 Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth:

12 Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children:

13 Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.*148.13 excellent: Heb. exalted

14 He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the LORD.
