1 O Senhor disse a Moisés:2 "Ordena aos israelitas que te tragam óleo puro de olivas esmagadas para manter, continuamente, acesas as lâmpadas do candelabro.3 Aarão prepará-las-á fora do véu do testemunho, na tenda de reunião, a fim de que elas queimem continuamente, da tarde à manhã, diante do Senhor.4 Disporá as lâmpadas no candelabro de ouro puro, para que queimem continuamente diante do Senhor.5 Tomarás também flor de farinha e farás com ela doze bolos cozidos, cada um dos quais com dois décimos de efá.6 Dispô-los-ás em duas pilhas de seis na mesa de ouro puro diante do Senhor.7 Sobre cada pilha porás incenso puro, que será um memorial oferecido pelo fogo ao Senhor.8 Colocar-se-ão esses pães diante do Senhor a cada sábado, continuamente, da parte dos israelitas: esta é uma aliança perpétua.9 Esses pães serão propriedade de Aarão e de seus filhos, que os comerão no lugar santo; isso será para eles uma coisa santíssima entre as ofertas feitas pelo fogo ao Senhor. É uma lei perpétua."10 O filho de uma mulher israelita, tendo por pai um egípcio, veio entre os israelitas. E, discutindo no acampamento com um deles,11 o filho da mulher israelita blasfemou contra o santo nome e o amaldiçoou. Sua mãe chamava-se Salumite, filha de Dabri, da tribo de Dã.12 Puseram-no em prisão até que Moisés tomasse uma decisão, segundo a ordem do Senhor."13 Então o Senhor disse a Moisés:14 "Faze sair do acampamento o blasfemo, e todos aqueles que o ouviram ponham a mão sobre a sua cabeça, e toda a assembléia o apedreje.15 Dirás aos israelitas: todo aquele que amaldiçoar o seu Deus levará o seu pecado.16 Quem blasfemar o nome do Senhor será punido de morte: toda a assembléia o apedrejará. Quer seja ele estrangeiro ou natural, se blasfemar contra o santo nome, será punido de morte."17 "Todo aquele que ferir mortalmente um homem será morto.18 Quem tiver ferido de morte um animal doméstico, dará outro em seu lugar: vida por vida.19 Se um homem ferir o seu próximo, assim como fez, assim se lhe fará a ele:20 fratura por fratura, olho por olho e dente por dente; ser-lhe-á feito o mesmo que ele fez ao seu próximo;21 Quem matar um animal, restituirá outro, mas o que matar um homem será punido de morte.22 Só haverá uma lei entre vós tanto para o estrangeiro como para o natural: porque eu sou o Senhor vosso Deus".23 Moisés transmitiu essas normas aos israelitas. Tiraram do acampamento o blasfemo e o apedrejaram, conforme a ordem que o Senhor tinha dado a Moisés.

1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,2 Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure beaten olive–oil, for the lighting, to cause the lamp to burn continually.3 Without the vail of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron put it in order for from evening unto morning before the Lord continually; as a statute for ever in your generations.4 Upon the pure candlestick shall be put in order the lamps, before the Lord, continually.5 And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake thereof twelve cakes: of two tenth parts shall each one cake be.6 And thou shalt place them in two rows, six in a row, upon the pure table before the Lord.7 And thou shalt put upon each row pure frankincense, that it may be unto the bread for a memorial, as a fire–offering unto the Lord.8 On every and each sabbath day shall he place it in order before the Lord continually, obtained from the children of Israel as an everlasting covenant.9 And it shall belong to Aaron and to his sons; and they shall eat it in a holy place; for it is most holy unto him, from the fire–offerings of the Lord, as a perpetual fixed portion.10 And there went forth a son of an Israelitish woman, but who was the son of an Egyptian man, among the children of Israel; and there quarrelled together in the camp this son of the Israelitish woman and an Israelitish man.11 And the son of the Israelitish woman pronounced the holy Name, and blasphemed; and they brought him unto Moses: and his mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan;12 And they placed him in ward, until the decision of the Lord could be explained to them.13 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,14 Lead forth the blasphemer to without the camp; and all that have heard him shall lay their hands upon his head; and all the congregation shall stone him.15 And unto the children of Israel shalt thou speak, saying, Whatsoever man that blasphemeth his God shall bear his sin.16 But he that pronounced the name of the Lord with blasphemy shall be put to death, all the congregation shall stone him; be he a stranger, or be he one that is born in the land, when he pronounceth the holy Name with blasphemy, he shall be put to death.17 And he that taketh the life of any man shall surely be put to death.18 And he that taketh the life of a beast shall make it good: beast for beast.19 And if a man cause a bodily defect in his neighbor, as he hath done, so shall be done to him;20 Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: in the manner as he hath caused a bodily defect in a man, so shall it be done to him.21 And he that killeth a beast, shall make restitution for it; and he that killeth a man, shall be put to death.22 One manner of judicial law shall ye have, the stranger shall be equal with one of your own country; for I am the Lord your God.23 And Moses spoke to the children of Israel; and they led forth the blasphemer to without the camp, and they stoned him with stones; and the children of Israel did as the Lord had commanded Moses.
