1 "Arise, shine; for your light has come,

and Yahweh’s glory has risen on you!

2 For behold, darkness will cover the earth,

and thick darkness the peoples;

but Yahweh will arise on you,

and his glory shall be seen on you.

3 Nations will come to your light,

and kings to the brightness of your rising.

4 "Lift up your eyes all around, and see:

they all gather themselves together.

They come to you.

Your sons will come from far away,

and your daughters will be carried in arms.

5 Then you shall see and be radiant,

and your heart will thrill and be enlarged;

because the abundance of the sea will be turned to you.

The wealth of the nations will come to you.

6 A multitude of camels will cover you,

the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah.

All from Sheba will come.

They will bring gold and frankincense,

and will proclaim the praises of Yahweh.

7 All the flocks of Kedar will be gathered together to you.

The rams of Nebaioth will serve you.

They will be accepted as offerings on my altar;

and I will beautify my glorious house.

8 "Who are these who fly as a cloud,

and as the doves to their windows?

9 Surely the islands will wait for me,

and the ships of Tarshish first,

to bring your sons from far away,

their silver and their gold with them,

for the name of Yahweh your God,

and for the Holy One of Israel,

because he has glorified you.

10 "Foreigners will build up your walls,

and their kings will serve you;

for in my wrath I struck you,

but in my favor I have had mercy on you.

11 Your gates also shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations, and their kings led captive.

12 For that nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish; yes, those nations shall be utterly wasted.

13 "The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, the cypress tree, the pine, and the box tree together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

14 The sons of those who afflicted you will come bowing to you;

and all those who despised you will bow themselves down at the soles of your feet.

They will call you Yahweh’s City,

the Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

15 "Whereas you have been forsaken and hated,

so that no one passed through you,

I will make you an eternal excellency,

a joy of many generations.

16 You will also drink the milk of the nations,

and will nurse from royal breasts.

Then you will know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior,

your Redeemer,

the Mighty One of Jacob.

17 For bronze I will bring gold;

for iron I will bring silver;

for wood, bronze,

and for stones, iron.

I will also make peace your governor,

and righteousness your ruler.

18 Violence shall no more be heard in your land,

nor desolation or destruction within your borders;

but you will call your walls Salvation,

and your gates Praise.

19 The sun will be no more your light by day,

nor will the brightness of the moon give light to you,

but Yahweh will be your everlasting light,

and your God will be your glory.

20 Your sun will not go down any more,

nor will your moon withdraw itself;

for Yahweh will be your everlasting light,

and the days of your mourning will end.

21 Then your people will all be righteous.

They will inherit the land forever,

the branch of my planting,

the work of my hands,

that I may be glorified.

22 The little one will become a thousand,

and the small one a strong nation.

I, Yahweh, will do this quickly in its time."

1 Levante-se, resplandeça,

porque já vem a sua luz,

e a glória do Senhor

está raiando sobre você.

2 Porque eis que as trevas

cobrem a terra,

e a escuridão envolve os povos;

mas sobre você aparece

resplandecente o Senhor,

e a sua glória já está brilhando

3 As nações se encaminham

para a sua luz, ó Jerusalém,

e os reis são atraídos

para o resplendor

do seu amanhecer.

4 Levante os olhos ao redor e veja:

todos se reúnem e vêm até você.

Os seus filhos chegam de longe,

e as suas filhas são trazidas

nos braços.

5 Ao ver isso, você ficará

radiante de alegria;

o seu coração baterá forte

e se dilatará de júbilo,

porque você receberá

a abundância do mar,

e as riquezas das nações

serão trazidas a você.

6 O seu território ficará coberto

por uma multidão de camelos,

os dromedários de Midiã e de Efa.

Todos virão de Sabá;

trarão ouro e incenso

e publicarão os louvores do Senhor.

7 Todas as ovelhas de Quedar

se reunirão junto de você;

os carneiros de Nebaiote

a servirão;

serão aceitos ao serem oferecidos

sobre o meu altar,

e eu tornarei mais glorioso

o templo da minha glória.

8 Quem são estes que vêm voando

como nuvens

e como pombas

voltando ao pombal?

9 Certamente as terras do mar

me aguardarão.

À frente virão os navios de Társis

para trazerem de longe

os seus filhos, ó Jerusalém,

e, com eles, a prata e o ouro,

para a santificação

do nome do Senhor, seu Deus,

e do Santo de Israel,

porque ele revestiu você de glória.

10 "Estrangeiros edificarão

as suas muralhas,

e os seus reis a servirão.

Porque no meu furor

eu a castiguei,

mas na minha graça

tive compaixão de você.

11 Os seus portões

estarão sempre abertos;

não serão fechados

nem de dia nem de noite,

para que lhe sejam trazidas

as riquezas das nações,

e, conduzidos com elas,

os seus reis.

12 Porque a nação e o reino

que não a servirem perecerão;

sim, essas nações serão

totalmente arrasadas."

13 "A glória do Líbano virá a você:

o cipreste, o olmeiro e o buxo,

conjuntamente,

para adornarem o lugar

do meu santuário;

e farei glorioso o lugar

em que descansam

os meus pés.

14 Também virão e se inclinarão

os filhos dos que a oprimiram;

todos os que a desprezaram

se prostrarão

até as plantas dos seus pés

e a chamarão ‘Cidade do Senhor’,

a ‘Sião do Santo de Israel’."

15 "Você era uma cidade

abandonada e odiada,

um lugar onde

não passava ninguém,

mas eu farei de você

uma glória eterna,

uma alegria

de geração em geração.

16 Você mamará o leite das nações

e se alimentará ao peito dos reis;

e saberá que eu sou o Senhor,

o seu Salvador,

o seu Redentor,

o Poderoso de Jacó."

17 "Em vez de bronze,

eu lhe trarei ouro;

em vez de ferro, eu lhe trarei prata;

em vez de madeira, bronze,

e, em vez de pedras, ferro.

Farei com que a paz

seja o seu inspetor

e com que a justiça

seja o seu opressor.

18 Nunca mais se ouvirá falar

de violência na sua terra,

nem de ruína ou destruição

em seu território,

mas às suas muralhas

você chamará ‘Salvação’,

e aos seus portões, ‘Louvor’."

19 "Nunca mais o sol será a sua luz

durante o dia,

e o resplendor da lua

nunca mais a iluminará;

pois o Senhor será

a sua luz perpétua,

e o seu Deus será a sua glória.

20 O seu sol nunca se porá,

e a sua lua nunca minguará,

porque o Senhor será

a sua luz perpétua,

e os dias do seu luto

chegarão ao fim.

21 Todos os do seu povo

serão justos

e para sempre herdarão a terra;

serão renovos que eu plantei,

obra das minhas mãos,

para que eu seja glorificado.

22 O pequeno virá a ser mil,

e o menor, uma nação forte;

eu, o Senhor, farei com que,

no tempo certo,

isso logo se cumpra."
