1 Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, 2 "Son of man, set your face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them. 3 Tell the children of Ammon, ‘Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh! The Lord Yahweh says, "Because you said, ‘Aha!’ against my sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into captivity, 4 therefore, behold, I will deliver you to the children of the east for a possession. They will set their encampments in you and make their dwellings in you. They will eat your fruit and they will drink your milk. 5 I will make Rabbah a stable for camels and the children of Ammon a resting place for flocks. Then you will know that I am Yahweh." 6 For the Lord Yahweh says: "Because you have clapped your hands, stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the contempt of your soul against the land of Israel, 7 therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand on you, and will deliver you for a plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will cause you to perish out of the countries. I will destroy you. Then you will know that I am Yahweh."

8 "‘The Lord Yahweh says: "Because Moab and Seir say, ‘Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations,’ 9 therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on its frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and Kiriathaim, 10 to the children of the east, to go against the children of Ammon; and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations. 11 I will execute judgments on Moab. Then they will know that I am Yahweh."

12 "‘The Lord Yahweh says: "Because Edom has dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended, and taken revenge on them," 13 therefore the Lord Yahweh says, "I will stretch out my hand on Edom, and will cut off man and animal from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman. They will fall by the sword even to Dedan. 14 I will lay my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel. They will do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath. Then they will know my vengeance," says the Lord Yahweh.

15 "‘The Lord Yahweh says: "Because the Philistines have taken revenge, and have taken vengeance with contempt of soul to destroy with perpetual hostility," 16 therefore the Lord Yahweh says, "Behold, I will stretch out my hand on the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast. 17 I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes. Then they will know that I am Yahweh, when I lay my vengeance on them."’"

1 Cuvântul Domnului mi-a vorbit astfel: 2 „Fiul omului, întoarce-ți*Cap. 6:2;35:2. fața spre copiii*Ier. 49:1. Cap. 21:28.Amos 1:13.Ţef. 2:9. lui Amon și prorocește împotriva lor! 3 Spune copiilor lui Amon: ‘Ascultați cuvântul Domnului Dumnezeu! Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Pentru că*Prov. 17:5. Cap. 26:2. ai zis: ‹Ha! Ha!› Sfântului Meu Locaș când era pângărit, țării lui Israel când era pustiită și casei lui Iuda când se ducea în robie, 4 de aceea, iată, te dau în stăpânirea fiilor Răsăritului; ei își vor așeza staulele în mijlocul tău și își vor face locuințele în tine; îți vor mânca roadele și îți vor bea laptele. 5 Voi face din Raba*Cap. 21:20. un ocol*Is. 17:2;32:14.Ţef. 2:14,15. de cămile și din țara copiilor lui Amon o stână de oi, ca să știți*Cap. 24:24;26:6;35:9. că Eu sunt Domnul!» 6 Căci așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Pentru că ai bătut din mâini*Iov 27:23.Plâng. 2:15.Ţef. 2:15. și ai dat din picior, pentru că te-ai bucurat*Cap. 36:5.Ţef. 2:8,10. în chip batjocoritor și din adâncul sufletului de țara lui Israel, 7 de aceea, iată că Îmi întind*Cap. 35:3. mâna peste tine și te dau pradă neamurilor; te șterg din mijlocul popoarelor, te scot din numărul țărilor și te nimicesc. Și vei ști că Eu sunt Domnul!» 8 Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Pentru că Moabul*Is. 15;16.Ier. 48:1.Amos 2:1. și Seirul*Cap. 35:2,5,12. au zis: ‹Iată, casa lui Iuda a ajuns ca toate neamurile!›, 9 de aceea deschid ținutul Moabului dinspre cetăți, dinspre cetățile lui de la hotare, care sunt podoaba țării, și anume: Bet-Ieșimotul, Baal-Meonul și Chiriataimul, 10 îl deschid și-l dau în stăpânire fiilor*Vers. 4. Răsăritului, împreună cu țara amoniților, ca să nu mai fie pomeniți*Cap. 21:32. printre neamuri copiii lui Amon. 11 Îmi voi împlini judecățile împotriva Moabului! Și vor ști că Eu sunt Domnul.» 12 Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Pentru că Edomul*2 Cron. 28:17.Ps. 137:7.Ier. 49:7. Cap. 35:2.Amos 1:11.Obad. 10. s-a dedat la răzbunare față de casa lui Iuda, pentru că s-a făcut vinovat și s-a răzbunat pe ea, 13 de aceea, așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: ‹Îmi întind mâna împotriva Edomului, îi voi nimici cu desăvârșire oamenii și vitele, îl voi preface într-un pustiu, de la Teman până la Dedan; vor cădea loviți de sabie. 14 Mă voi răzbuna*Is. 11:14.Ier. 49:2. pe Edom prin poporul Meu Israel. El va face Edomului după mânia și urgia Mea, ca să vadă răzbunarea Mea›, zice Domnul Dumnezeu.» 15 Așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: «Pentru că*Ier. 25:20;47:1.Ioel 3:4.Amos 1:6. filistenii*2 Cron. 28:18. s-au dedat la răzbunare, pentru că s-au răzbunat în chip batjocoritor și din adâncul sufletului, voind să nimicească totul în ura lor străveche, 16 așa vorbește Domnul Dumnezeu: ‹Iată că Îmi întind mâna*Ţef. 2:4. împotriva filistenilor, nimicesc cu desăvârșire pe cheretiți*1 Sam. 30:14. și prăpădesc tot ce a mai rămas*Ier. 47:4. pe coasta mării, 17 Mă voi năpusti*Cap. 5:15. cu mare răzbunare asupra lor, pedepsindu-i cu urgie. Și vor ști*Ps. 9:16. că Eu sunt Domnul când Mă voi răzbuna pe ei.›»’"
