| 1 | Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? | Merészel valaki ti közületek, ha peres dolga van a másikkal, az igaztalanok elõtt törvénykezni, és nem a szentek elõtt? |
| 2 | Do ye not know that the saints will judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? | Nem tudjátok-é, hogy a szentek a világot ítélik meg? És ha ti ítélitek meg a világot, méltatlanok vagytok-é a legkisebb dolgokban való ítéletekre? |
| 3 | Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more, things that pertain to this life? | Nem tudjátok-é, hogy angyalokat fogunk ítélni, nemhogy életszükségre való dolgokat? |
| 4 | If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. | Azért ha életszükségre való dolgok felõl van törvénykezéstek, a kik a gyülekezetben legalábbvalók, azokat ültessétek le. |
| 5 | I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that will be able to judge between his brethren? | Megszégyenítéstekre mondom: Hát nincs ti köztetek egy bölcs ember sem, a ki ítéletet tehetne az õ atyjafiai között? |
| 6 | But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before unbelievers. | Hanem atyafi atyafival törvénykezik, még pedig hitetlenek elõtt? |
| 7 | Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? | Egyáltalán már az is gyarlóság ti bennetek, hogy törvénykeztek egymással. Miért nem szenveditek inkább a bántalmazást? Miért nem tûritek inkább a kárt? |
| 8 | But ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. | Sõt ti okoztok bántalmazást és kárt, még pedig atyátokfiainak. |
| 9 | Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, | Avagy nem tudjátok-é, hogy igazságtalanok nem örökölhetik Istennek országát? Ne tévelyegjetek; se paráznák, se bálványimádók, se házasságtörõk, se pulyák, se férfiszeplõsítõk, |
| 10 | Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. | Se lopók, se telhetetlenek, se részegesek, se szidalmazók, se ragadozók nem örökölhetik Isten országát. |
| 11 | And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. | Ilyenek voltatok pedig némelyek, de megmosattattatok, de megszenteltettetek, de megigazíttattatok az Úr Jézusnak nevében és a mi Istenünk Lelke által. |
| 12 | All things are lawful to me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. | Minden szabad nékem, de nem minden használ; minden szabad nékem, de én nem adatom valakinek hatalma alá. |
| 13 | Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for lewdness, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. | Az eledelek a hasnak és a has az eledeleknek [rendeltetett.] Az Isten pedig mind ezt, mind amazokat eltörli. A test azonban nem a paráznaságnak [rendeltetett,] hanem az Úrnak, és az Úr a testnek. |
| 14 | And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. | Az Isten pedig az Urat is feltámasztotta, minket is feltámaszt az õ hatalma által. |
| 15 | Know ye not, that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of a harlot? By no means. | Nem tudjátok-é, hogy a ti testeitek a Krisztusnak tagjai? Elszakítva hát a Krisztus tagjait, paráznának tagjaivá tegyem? Távol legyen. |
| 16 | What? know ye not that he who is joined to a harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. | Avagy nem tudjátok-é, hogy a ki a paráznával egyesül, egy test vele? Mert ketten lesznek, úgymond, egy testté. |
| 17 | But he that is joined to the Lord is one spirit. | A ki pedig az Úrral egyesül, egy lélek õ vele. |
| 18 | Flee lewdness. Every sin that a man doeth, is without the body; but he that committeth lewdness, sinneth against his own body. | Kerüljétek a paráznaságot. Minden bûn, melyet az ember cselekszik, a testen kívül van, de a ki paráználkodik, a maga teste ellen vétkezik. |
| 19 | What, know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God, and ye are not your own? | Avagy nem tudjátok-é, hogy a ti testetek a bennetek lakozó Szent Léleknek temploma, a melyet Istentõl nyertetek; és nem a magatokéi vagytok? |
| 20 | For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. | Mert áron vétettetek meg; dicsõítsétek azért az Istent a ti testetekben és lelketekben, a melyek az Istenéi. |
