O Senhor concede vitória ao seu povo

Cântico. Salmo de Davi

1 Preparado está o meu coração, ó Deus;

cantarei e darei louvores

até com a minha glória.

2 Despertai, saltério e harpa;

eu mesmo despertarei ao romper da alva.

3 Louvar-te-ei entre os povos, Senhor,

e

a ti cantarei louvores entre

as nações.

4 Porque a tua benignidade

se estende até aos céus,

e a tua verdade chega

até às mais altas nuvens.

5 Exalta-te sobre os céus,

ó Deus,

e a tua glória

sobre toda a terra.

6 Para que sejam livres

os teus amados,

salva-nos com a tua destra,

e ouve-nos.

7 Deus falou na sua santidade;

eu me regozijarei; repartirei a Siquém,

e medirei o vale de Sucote.

8 Meu é Gileade, meu é Manassés;

e Efraim

a força da minha cabeça,

Judá o meu legislador.

9 Moabe a minha bacia

de lavar;

sobre Edom lançarei

o meu sapato,

sobre a Filístia jubilarei.

10 Quem me levará

à cidade forte?

Quem me guiará até Edom?

11 Porventura não serás tu, ó Deus, que nos rejeitaste?

E não sairás, ó Deus,

com os nossos exércitos?

12 Dá-nos auxílio para sair da angústia,

porque vão é o socorro da parte do homem.

13 Em Deus faremos proezas,

pois ele calcará aos pés os nossos inimigos.

1 My heart is fixed, O God;

I will sing, yea, I will sing praises, even with my glory.

2 Awake, psaltery and harp:

I myself will awake right early.

3 I will give thanks unto thee, O Jehovah, among the peoples;

And I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.

4 For thy lovingkindness is great above the heavens;

And thy truth reacheth unto the skies.

5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens,

And thy glory above all the earth.

6 That thy beloved may be delivered,

Save with thy right hand, and answer us.

7 God hath spoken in his holiness: I will exult;

I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

8 Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine;

Ephraim also is the defence of my head;

Judah is my sceptre.

9 Moab is my washpot;

Upon Edom will I cast my shoe;

Over Philistia will I shout.

10 Who will bring me into the fortified city?

Who hath led me unto Edom?

11 Hast not thou cast us off, O God?

And thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.

12 Give us help against the adversary;

For vain is the help of man.

13 Through God we shall do valiantly:

For he it is that will tread down our adversaries.
