Salmos 116

Cântico de gratidão

1 Amo ao Senhor,

porque ele ouviu a minha voz e a minha súplica.

2 Porque inclinou a mim

os seus ouvidos;

portanto, o invocarei enquanto viver.

3 Os cordéis da morte me cercaram,

e angústias

do inferno se apoderaram de mim;

encontrei aperto e tristeza.

4 Então invoquei o nome do Senhor,

dizendo:

Ó Senhor, livra a minha alma.

5 Piedoso é o Senhor e justo;

o nosso Deus tem misericórdia.

6 O Senhor guarda aos símplices;

fui abatido,

mas ele me livrou.

7 Volta, minha alma,

para o teu repouso,

pois

o Senhor te fez bem.

8 Porque tu livraste

a minha alma da morte,

os meus olhos das lágrimas,

e os meus pés da queda.

9 Andarei perante a face

do Senhor na terra dos viventes.

10 Cri, por isso falei.

Estive muito aflito.

11 Dizia na minha pressa:

Todos os homens são mentirosos.

12 Que darei eu ao Senhor,

por todos

os benefícios que me tem feito?

13 Tomarei o cálice da salvação,

e invocarei o nome do Senhor.

14 Pagarei os meus votos ao Senhor,

agora,

na presença de todo o seu povo.

15 Preciosa é à vista

do Senhor a morte dos seus santos.

16 Ó Senhor, deveras sou teu servo;

sou teu servo,

filho da tua serva;

soltaste as minhas ataduras.

17 Oferecer-te-ei sacrifícios de louvor,

e invocarei

o nome do Senhor.

18 Pagarei os meus votos ao Senhor,

na presença

de todo o seu povo,

19 Nos átrios da casa do Senhor,

no meio de ti, ó Jerusalém. Louvai ao Senhor.

1 I love Jehovah, because he heareth

My voice and my supplications.

2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me,

Therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

3 The cords of death compassed me,

And the pains of Sheol gat hold upon me:

I found trouble and sorrow.

4 Then called I upon the name of Jehovah:

O Jehovah, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

5 Gracious is Jehovah, and righteous;

Yea, our God is merciful.

6 Jehovah preserveth the simple:

I was brought low, and he saved me.

7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul;

For Jehovah hath dealt bountifully with thee.

8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death,

Mine eyes from tears,

And my feet from falling.

9 I will walk before Jehovah

In the land of the living.

10 I believe, for I will speak:

I was greatly afflicted:

11 I said in my haste,

All men are liars.

12 What shall I render unto Jehovah

For all his benefits toward me?

13 I will take the cup of salvation,

And call upon the name of Jehovah.

14 I will pay my vows unto Jehovah,

Yea, in the presence of all his people.

15 Precious in the sight of Jehovah

Is the death of his saints.

16 O Jehovah, truly I am thy servant:

I am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid;

Thou hast loosed my bonds.

17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving,

And will call upon the name of Jehovah.

18 I will pay my vows unto Jehovah,

Yea, in the presence of all his people,

19 In the courts of Jehovah’s house,

In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem.

Praise ye Jehovah.
