1 To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David. 2 \64:1\O God, let the voice of my grief come to your ear: keep my life from the fear of those who are against me.3 \64:2\Keep me safe from the secret purpose of wrongdoers; from the band of the workers of evil;4 \64:3\Who make their tongues sharp like a sword, and whose arrows are pointed, even bitter words;5 \64:4\So that in secret they may let loose their arrows at the upright, suddenly and unseen.6 \64:5\They make themselves strong in an evil purpose; they make holes for secret nets; they say, Who will see it,7 \64:6\Or make discovery of our secret purpose? The design is framed with care; and the inner thought of a man, and his heart, is deep.8 \64:7\But God sends out an arrow against them; suddenly they are wounded.9 \64:8\The evil of their tongues is the cause of their fall; all those who see them are shaking their heads at them.10 \64:9\And in fear men make public the works of God; and giving thought to his acts they get wisdom.11 \64:10\The upright will be glad in the Lord and have hope in him; and all the lovers of righteousness will give him glory.
1 För sångmästaren; en psalm av David.2 Hör, o Gud, min röst, när jag klagar, bevara mitt liv, ty fienden förskräcker mig.3 Fördölj mig för de ondas hemliga råd, för ogärningsmännens larmande hop;4 ty de vässa sina tungor likasom svärd, med bittra ord lägga de an såsom med pilar,5 för att i lönndom skjuta den ostrafflige; plötsligt skjuta de på honom, utan försyn.6 De befästa sig i sitt onda uppsåt, de orda om huru de skola lägga ut snaror; de säga: »Vem skulle se oss?»7 De tänka ut onda anslag: »Nu äro vi redo med det råd vi hava uttänkt!» Ja, djupa äro männens tankar och hjärtan.8 Då skjuter Gud dem; plötsligt sårar dem hans pil.9 De bringas på fall och få straff för sina tungors skull; var och en som ser dem rister huvudet.10 Och alla människor varda förskräckta; de förkunna vad Gud har gjort och förstå hans verk.11 Den rättfärdige skall glädja sig i HERREN och taga sin tillflykt till honom, och alla rättsinniga skola berömma sig.
