Jó 21

1 Und Hiob antwortete und sprach: 2 Höret, höret meine Rede! Und dies ersetze *Eig. seien eure Tröstungen. 3 Ertraget mich, und ich will reden, und nachdem ich geredet habe, magst du spotten. 4 Richtet sich meine Klage an einen Menschen? Oder warum sollte ich nicht ungeduldig sein? 5 Wendet euch zu mir und entsetzet euch, und leget die Hand auf den Mund! 6 Ja, wenn ich daran denke, so bin ich bestürzt, und Schauder erfaßt mein Fleisch.

7 Warum leben die Gesetzlosen, werden alt, nehmen gar an Macht zu? 8 Ihr Same steht fest vor ihnen, mit ihnen, und ihre Sprößlinge vor ihren Augen. 9 Ihre Häuser haben Frieden, ohne Furcht, und Gottes Rute ist nicht über ihnen. 10 Sein Stier belegt und befruchtet sicher, seine Kuh kalbt und wirft nicht fehl. 11 Ihre Buben schicken sie aus gleich einer Herde, und ihre Knaben hüpfen umher. 12 Sie *d. h. die Gesetzlosen erheben die Stimme bei Tamburin und Laute und sind fröhlich beim Klange der Schalmei. 13 In Wohlfahrt verbringen sie ihre Tage, und in einem Augenblick sinken sie in den Scheol hinab. 14 Und doch sprechen sie zu Gott: *El Weiche von uns! und nach der Erkenntnis deiner Wege verlangen wir nicht. 15 Was ist der Allmächtige, daß wir ihm dienen sollten, und was nützt es uns, daß wir ihn angehen? - 16 Siehe, ihre Wohlfahrt steht nicht in ihrer Hand. Der Rat der Gesetzlosen sei *O. ist ferne von mir!

17 Wie oft geschieht es, daß die Leuchte der Gesetzlosen erlischt und ihr Verderben über sie kommt, daß er ihnen Schlingen zuteilt in seinem Zorn, 18 daß sie wie Stroh werden vor dem Winde, und wie Spreu, die der Sturmwind entführt? 19 Gott spart, saget ihr, sein Unheil *das Unheil des Gesetzlosen, d. h. die Strafe dafür auf für seine *d. h. des Gesetzlosen Kinder. -Er vergelte ihm, daß er es fühle! 20 Seine Augen sollen sein Verderben sehen, und von dem Grimme des Allmächtigen trinke er! 21 Denn was liegt ihm an seinem Hause nach ihm, wenn die Zahl seiner Monde durchschnitten ist? - 22 Kann man Gott *El Erkenntnis lehren, da er es ja ist, der die Hohen richtet? 23 Dieser stirbt in seiner Vollkraft, ganz wohlgemut und sorglos. 24 Seine Gefäße sind voll Milch, und das Mark seiner Gebeine ist getränkt. 25 Und jener stirbt mit bitterer Seele und hat des Guten nicht genossen. 26 Zusammen liegen sie im Staube, und Gewürm bedeckt sie.

27 Siehe, ich kenne eure Gedanken, und die Anschläge, womit ihr mir Gewalt antut. 28 Denn ihr saget: Wo ist das Haus des Edlen, *Im Sinne von "Tyrann", wie Kap. 12,21 und wo das Wohngezelt der Gesetzlosen? 29 Habt ihr nicht befragt, die des Weges vorüberziehen? und erkennet ihr ihre Merkmale nicht: *O. und ihre (d. h. der Wanderer) merkwürdigen Berichte könnet ihr doch nicht verkennen30 daß der Böse verschont wird am Tage des Verderbens, daß am Tage der Zornesfluten *O. Zornausbrüche sie weggeleitet werden? 31 Wer wird ihm ins Angesicht seinen Weg kundtun? Und hat er gehandelt, wer wird es ihm vergelten? 32 Und er wird zu den Gräbern hingebracht, und auf dem Grabhügel wacht er. 33 Süß sind ihm die Schollen des Tales. Und hinter ihm her ziehen alle Menschen, und vor ihm her gingen sie *O. gehen sie (vom Leichenzuge verstanden) ohne Zahl. - 34 Wie tröstet ihr mich nun mit Dunst? und von euren Antworten bleibt nur Treulosigkeit übrig.

Ā, he aha ahau tē manawanui ai?

5 Titiro mai ki ahau, mīharo ai;

kōpania atu te ringa ki te māngai.

6 Mahara kau ahau, ka wehi,

mau pū te wehi o ōku kikokiko.

7 He aha te hunga kino i ora ai, i koroheke ai,

āe, i mārohirohi ai tō rātou kaha?

8 Pūmau tonu ō rātou uri ki tō rātou taha ki tō rātou aroaro,

ā, ko ā rātou whānau kei tā rātou tirohanga atu.

9 Ō rātou whare kei runga i te rangimārie, kāhore he wehi,

kāhore hoki a te Atua patu ki a rātou.

10 E kaha ana tāna pūru ki te ekeeke, kāhore hoki e hē;

ka whānau tāna kau, kāhore hoki he whakatahe.

11 E tukua mai ana e rātou ā rātou kōhungahunga ānō he kāhui hipi,

e pekepeke ana ā rātou tamariki.

12 He hunga hāpai rātou i te timipera, i te hāpa,

e koa ana ki te tangi o te ōkana.

13 Ō rātou rā pau tonu i runga i te āhuareka,

kitea rawatia ake kua heke ki te pō.

14 Koia rātou i mea ai ki te Atua, ‘Mawehe atu i a mātou;

kāhore hoki ō mātou hiahia kia mātau ki ōu ara.

15 He aha rā te Runga Rawa e mahi ai mātou ki a ia?

He aha hoki te rawa ki a mātou ki te īnoi ki a ia?’

16 Nanā, kāhore he pai mō rātou i ō rātou ringa ake:

matara atu i ahau te whakaaro o te hunga kino.

17 "Pēhea te maha o ngā matenga o te rama a te hunga kino?

O ngā pānga mai anō hoki o tō rātou aituā ki a rātou?

O te tūwhanga mai a te Atua i ngā mamae i a ia e riri ana?

18 E rite ai rātou ki te kakau wīti i mua i te hau,

ki te pāpapa e kāhakina atu ana e te paroro?

19 E mea ana koutou, ‘E rongoātia ana e te Atua tōna kino hei mea mō āna tamariki.’

Māna e utu tērā ki a ia tonu, kia mōhio ai ia.

20 Tukua kia kite ōna ake kanohi i tōna hunanga,

ā, tukua ia kia inu i te riri o te Kaha Rawa.

21 He aha hoki tana manako ki tōna whare i muri i a ia,

ka poroa hoki ōna marama i waenga?

22 "E whakaako ianei tētahi i te Atua ki te mātauranga?

Ko te kaiwhakawā hoki ia mō te hunga whakakake.

23 Tēnei tangata, mate iho ia, pakari rawa anō hoki ōna kaha,

āta takoto ana āna mea katoa, kāhore hoki he raruraru.

24 Kī tonu ōna ū i te waiū,

ā, e mākūkū ana ōna wheua i te hinu.

25 Mate iho hoki tērā tangata, kawa tonu tōna wairua,

kāhore hoki he pai hei kai māna.

26 Ka takoto ngātahi rāua ki te puehu,

ā, ko te iro hei hīpoki mō rāua.

27 "Nanā, e mōhio ana ahau ki ō koutou whakaaro,

ki tā koutou ngārahu nanakia anō hoki mōku.

28 E kī ana hoki koutou, ‘Kei hea te whare o te rangatira?

Kei hea hoki te tēneti i noho ai te hunga kino?’

29 Kāhore ianei koutou i ui ki te hunga e haere atu ana i te ara?

Kāhore rānei koutou i mōhio ki ā rātou tohu?

30 Kei te rongoā nei hoki te tangata kino mō te rā o te whakangaro;

ka whakaputaina rātou i te rā o te riri.

31 Ko wai e whakaatu i tōna ara ki tōna aroaro?

Ko wai hoki hei hoatu i te utu mō tāna mahi ki a ia?

32 Heoi, ka kawea ia ki te urupā;

kei te pūranga he wāhi mōna.

33 Ka reka ki a ia ngā pōkuru o te awaawa,

ka whai mai anō hoki ngā tāngata katoa i a ia;

e kore nei hoki e taea te tatau te hunga i mua i a ia.

34 "He pēhea rā tā koutou whakamārie tinihanga i ahau,

e toe nā hoki te hē i roto i ā koutou kupu e whakahoki mai nā?"
