1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 And thou, son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? then cause her to know all her abominations. 3 And thou shalt say, Thus saith the Lord GOD: A city that sheddeth blood in the midst of her, that her time may come, and that maketh idols against herself to defile her! 4 Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed, and art defiled in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the nations, and a mocking to all the countries. 5 Those that be near, and those that be far from thee, shall mock thee, thou infamous one and full of tumult. 6 Behold, the princes of Israel, every one according to his power, have been in thee to shed blood. 7 In thee have they set light by father and mother; in the midst of thee, have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee have they wronged the fatherless and the widow. 8 Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths. 9 Slanderous men have been in thee to shed blood: and in thee they have eaten upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they have committed lewdness. 10 In thee have they discovered their fathers’ nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was unclean in her separation. 11 And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour’s wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father’s daughter. 12 In thee have they taken bribes to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by oppression, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD. 13 Behold, therefore, I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee. 14 Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it. 15 And I will scatter thee among the nations, and disperse thee through the countries; and I will consume thy filthiness out of thee. 16 And thou shalt be profaned in thyself, in the sight of the nations; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD. 17 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 18 Son of man, the house of Israel is become dross unto me: all of them are brass and tin and iron and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are the dross of silver. 19 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Because ye are all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. 20 As they gather silver and brass and iron and lead and tin into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will lay you there, and melt you. 21 Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you with the fire of my wrath, and ye shalt be melted in the midst thereof. 22 As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you. 23 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 24 Son of man, say unto her, thou art a land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation. 25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey: they have devoured souls; they take treasure and precious things; they have made her widows many in the midst thereof. 26 Her priests have done violence to my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. 27 Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey; to shed blood, and to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain. 28 And her prophets have daubed for them with untempered mortar, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken. 29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery; yea, they have vexed the poor and needy, and have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. 30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the fence, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. 31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I brought upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.

1 A palavra do Senhor veio a mim, dizendo:

2 — Filho do homem, será que você está pronto para julgar? Está pronto para julgar a cidade sanguinária? Mostre-lhe todas as suas abominações 3 e diga: Assim diz o Senhor Deus: "Ai da cidade que derrama sangue no meio de si, para que venha o seu tempo, e que faz ídolos contra si mesma, para se contaminar! 4 Você se tornou culpada pelo sangue que derramou e está contaminada pelos ídolos que fabricou. Você fez chegar o dia do seu julgamento e o término de seus anos. Por isso, fiz de você objeto de deboche das nações e de zombaria de todas as terras. 5 Tanto as que estão perto como as que estão longe zombarão de você, cidade de má fama, cheia de inquietação. 6 Eis que os príncipes de Israel, cada um segundo o seu poder, nada mais intentam, a não ser derramar sangue. 7 Em seu meio, desprezam o pai e a mãe, praticam extorsões contra o estrangeiro e são injustos com o órfão e a viúva. 8 Você desprezou as minhas coisas santas e profanou os meus sábados. 9 Em seu meio há homens que dizem calúnias para derramar sangue. Em seu meio, comem carne sacrificada nos montes e cometem perversidade. 10 Em seu meio, homens têm relações com a mulher do próprio pai e abusam da mulher no período da sua menstruação. 11 Um comete abominação com a mulher do seu próximo, outro contamina vergonhosamente a sua nora, e outro abusa da sua irmã, filha de seu pai. 12 Em seu meio, aceitam suborno para derramar sangue. Você emprestou com usura e cobrou juros. Você explorou o seu próximo com extorsão. Mas de mim você se esqueceu, diz o Senhor Deus."

13 — "Eis que bato as minhas mãos uma na outra com furor contra a exploração que você praticou e por causa do sangue que foi derramado em seu meio. 14 Estará firme o seu coração? Estarão fortes as suas mãos, nos dias em que eu vier tratar com você? Eu, o Senhor, falei e eu o cumprirei. 15 Eu a dispersarei entre as nações, eu a espalharei por outras terras e acabarei com a sua impureza. 16 Você será profanada em si mesma, à vista das nações, e saberá que eu sou o Senhor."

17 A palavra do Senhor veio a mim, dizendo:

18 — Filho do homem, a casa de Israel se transformou em escória para mim. Todos eles são cobre, estanho, ferro e chumbo no meio do forno; eles são a escória da prata. 19 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor Deus: Visto que todos vocês se transformaram em escória, eis que eu os ajuntarei no meio de Jerusalém. 20 Como se ajuntam a prata, o cobre, o ferro, o chumbo e o estanho no meio do forno, para assoprar o fogo sobre eles, a fim de se fundirem, assim na minha ira e no meu furor eu os ajuntarei, ali os deixarei e fundirei. 21 Eu os reunirei e assoprarei sobre vocês o fogo do meu furor; e vocês serão fundidos no meio de Jerusalém. 22 Como se funde a prata no meio do forno, assim vocês serão fundidos no meio dela. E saberão que eu, o Senhor, derramei o meu furor sobre vocês.

23 A palavra do Senhor veio a mim, dizendo:

24 — Filho do homem, diga a essa terra: "Você é terra que não está purificada e que não tem chuva no dia da indignação. 25 Há, no meio dela, uma conspiração dos seus profetas. Como um leão que ruge, que arrebata a presa, assim eles devoram pessoas, se apossam de tesouros e coisas preciosas, multiplicam as viúvas no meio dela. 26 Os seus sacerdotes transgridem a minha lei e profanam as minhas coisas santas. Não fazem distinção entre o santo e o profano e não ensinam a diferença entre o puro e o impuro. Não respeitam os meus sábados, e assim sou profanado no meio deles. 27 Os seus líderes no meio dela são como lobos que arrebatam a presa para derramarem o sangue, para destruírem vidas e ganharem lucro desonesto. 28 Os seus profetas cobrem isso com cal, tendo visões falsas e predizendo mentiras. Dizem: ‘Assim diz o Senhor Deus’, sem que o Senhor tenha falado. 29 O povo da terra pratica extorsão e anda roubando. Fazem violência aos pobres e necessitados, e injustamente oprimem os estrangeiros."

30 — "Procurei entre eles um homem que reconstruísse a muralha e se colocasse na brecha diante de mim, a favor desta terra, para que eu não a destruísse, mas não encontrei ninguém. 31 Por isso, derramarei sobre eles a minha indignação, e com o fogo do meu furor os consumirei. Farei cair sobre a cabeça deles o castigo que os seus atos merecem", diz o Senhor Deus.
