1 In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day, the hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me thither. 2 In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me down upon a very high mountain, whereon was as it were the frame of a city on the south. 3 And he brought me thither, and behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate. 4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel. 5 And behold, a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man’s hand a measuring reed of six cubits long, of a cubit and an handbreadth each: so he measured the thickness of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed. 6 Then came he unto the gate which looketh toward the east, and went up the steps thereof; and he measured the threshold of the gate, one reed broad: and the other threshold, one reed broad. 7 And every lodge was one reed long, and one reed broad; and the space between the lodges was five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate toward the house was one reed. 8 He measured also the porch of the gate toward the house, one reed. 9 Then measured he the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and the posts thereof, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was toward the house. 10 And the lodges of the gate eastward were three on this side, and three on that side; they three were of one measure: and the posts had one measure on this side and on that side. 11 And he measured the breadth of the opening of the gate, ten cubits; and the length of the gate thirteen cubits; 12 and a border before the lodges one cubit on this side, and a border, one cubit on that side; and the lodges six cubits on this side, and six cubit on that side. 13 And he measured the gate from the roof of the one lodge to the roof of the other, a breadth of five and twenty cubits; door against door. 14 He made also posts, threescore cubits; and the court reached unto the post, the gate being round about. 15 And from the forefront of the gate at the entrance unto the forefront of the inner porch of the gate were fifty cubits. 16 And there were closed windows to the lodges, and to their posts within the gate round about, and likewise to the arches: and windows were round about inward: and upon each post were palm trees. 17 Then brought he me into the outer court, and, lo, there were chambers and a pavement, made for the court round about: thirty chambers were upon the pavement. 18 And the pavement was by the side of the gates, answerable unto the length of the gates, even the lower pavement. 19 Then he measured the breadth from the forefront of the lower gate unto the forefront of the inner court without, an hundred cubits, both on the east and on the north. 20 And the gate of the outer court whose prospect is toward the north, he measured the length thereof and the breadth thereof. 21 And the lodges thereof were three on this side and three on that side; and the posts thereof and the arches thereof were after the measure of the first gate: the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits. 22 And the windows thereof, and the arches thereof, and the palm trees thereof, were after the measure of the gate whose prospect is toward the east; and they went up unto it by seven steps; and the arches thereof were before them. 23 And there was a gate to the inner court over against the other gate, both on the north and on the east; and he measured from gate to gate an hundred cubits. 24 And he led me toward the south, and behold a gate toward the south: and he measured the posts thereof and the arches thereof according to these measures. 25 And there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about, like those windows: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits. 26 And there were seven steps to go up to it, and the arches thereof were before them: and it had palm trees, one on this side, and another on that side, upon the posts thereof. 27 And there was a gate to the inner court toward the south: and he measured from gate to gate toward the south an hundred cubits. 28 Then he brought me to the inner court by the south gate: and he measured the south gate according to these measures; 29 and the lodges thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof; according to these measures: and there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about: it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad. 30 And there were arches round about, five and twenty cubits long, and five cubits broad. 31 And the arches thereof were toward the outer court; and palm trees were upon the posts thereof: and the going up to it had eight steps. 32 And he brought me into the inner court toward the east: and he measured the gate according to these measures; 33 and the lodges thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures: and there were windows therein and in the arches thereof round about: it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad. 34 And the arches thereof were toward the outer court; and palm trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the going up to it had eight steps. 35 And he brought me to the north gate: and he measured it according to these measures; 36 the lodges thereof, the posts thereof, and the arches thereof; and there were windows therein round about: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits. 37 And the posts thereof were toward the outer court; and palm trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the going up to it had eight steps. 38 And a chamber with the door thereof was by the posts at the gates; there they washed the burnt offering. 39 And in the porch of the gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slay thereon the burnt offering and the sin offering and the guilt offering. 40 And on the one side without, as one goeth up to the entry of the gate toward the north, were two tables; and on the other side, which belonged to the porch of the gate, were two tables. 41 Four tables were on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate; eight tables, whereupon they slew the sacrifices. 42 And there were four tables for the burnt offering, of hewn stone, a cubit and an half long, and a cubit and an half broad, and one cubit high: whereupon they laid the instruments wherewith they slew the burnt offering and the sacrifice. 43 And the hooks, an handbreadth long, were fastened within round about: and upon the tables was the flesh of the oblation. 44 And without the inner gate were chambers for the singers in the inner court, which was at the side of the north gate; and their prospect was toward the south: one at the side of the east gate having the prospect toward the north. 45 And he said unto me, This chamber, whose prospect is toward the south, is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the house. 46 and the chamber whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok, which from among the sons of Levi come near to the LORD to minister unto him. 47 And he measured the court, an hundred cubits long, and an hundred cubits broad, foursquare; and the altar was before the house. 48 Then he brought me to the porch of the house, and measured each post of the porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side: and the breadth of the gate was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side. 49 The length of the porch was twenty cubits, and the breadth eleven cubits; even by the steps whereby they went up to it: and there were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on that side.

1 No vigésimo quinto ano do nosso exílio, no princípio do ano, no décimo dia do mês, catorze anos após a queda da cidade de Jerusalém, nesse mesmo dia, veio sobre mim a mão do Senhor, e ele me levou para lá. 2 Em visões, Deus me levou à terra de Israel e me pôs sobre um monte muito alto, sobre o qual havia uma estrutura de cidade, para o lado sul. 3 Ele me levou para lá, e eu vi um homem cuja aparência era como a do bronze. Estava em pé junto ao portão e tinha na mão um cordel de linho e uma cana de medir.

4 O homem me disse:

— Filho do homem, veja com os próprios olhos, ouça com os próprios ouvidos e preste atenção em tudo o que eu lhe mostrar, porque para isso você foi trazido aqui. Anuncie à casa de Israel tudo o que você está vendo.

5 Vi uma muralha externa que rodeava todo o templo e, na mão do homem, uma cana de medir, que tinha três metros de comprimento. Ele mediu a largura da muralha e deu três metros; mediu a altura e deu três metros. 6 Então veio ao portão que dava para o leste e subiu pelos seus degraus. Mediu o limiar do portão e deu três metros de largura. 7 Cada câmara lateral tinha três metros de comprimento e três metros de largura. O espaço entre uma e outra câmara era de dois metros e meio. O limiar do portão, junto ao vestíbulo da porta interior, tinha três metros. 8 Também mediu o vestíbulo da porta interior e deu três metros. 9 Então mediu o vestíbulo do portão, que tinha quatro metros, e os seus pilares, que tinham um metro. O vestíbulo do portão está voltado para o templo. 10 O portão do lado leste possuía três câmaras de cada lado, cuja medida era a mesma para cada uma. Também os pilares de cada lado tinham a mesma medida. 11 Em seguida, ele mediu a largura da entrada do portão, que era de cinco metros; a profundidade da entrada era de seis metros e meio. 12 Diante de cada uma das câmaras havia uma mureta, que tinha meio metro de espessura. Cada câmara tinha três metros de cada lado. 13 Então ele mediu o portão desde a extremidade do teto de uma câmara até a da outra, e deu doze metros e meio. As portas das câmaras ficavam uma diante da outra. 14 Mediu a distância até os pilares, e deu trinta metros, e o átrio se estendia até os pilares ao redor da porta. 15 Desde a dianteira do portão da entrada até a dianteira do vestíbulo da porta interior, a distância era de vinte e cinco metros. 16 Havia também janelas com ripas fixas superpostas para as câmaras e para os pilares, e do mesmo modo, para os vestíbulos. As janelas ficavam ao redor pela parte de dentro, e nos pilares havia palmeiras esculpidas.

17 Ele me levou ao átrio exterior, e eis que havia nele câmaras e um pavimento em volta de todo o átrio. Diante deste pavimento havia trinta câmaras. 18 O pavimento ao lado das portas tinha o mesmo comprimento das portas; esse era o pavimento inferior. 19 Então mediu a largura desde a dianteira do portão inferior até a dianteira do átrio interior, e deu cinquenta metros do lado leste e do lado norte.

20 Quanto ao portão que dava para o norte, no átrio exterior, ele mediu o seu comprimento e a sua largura. 21 As suas câmaras, três de um lado e três do outro, os seus pilares e os seus vestíbulos tinham as mesmas medidas do primeiro portão: vinte e cinco metros de comprimento e doze metros e meio de largura. 22 As suas janelas, os seus vestíbulos e as suas palmeiras esculpidas tinham as mesmas medidas do portão que dava para o leste. Subia-se para esse portão por sete degraus, e o seu vestíbulo estava diante dele. 23 Esse portão do átrio interior estava diante do portão do norte, como no caso do portão do leste. Ele mediu de um portão a outro portão, e deu cinquenta metros.

24 Então ele me levou para o lado sul, e eis que havia ali um portão que dava para o sul. Ele mediu os seus pilares e os seus vestíbulos, que tinham as mesmas dimensões dos outros. 25 Havia também janelas ao redor dos seus vestíbulos, como as outras janelas; o comprimento era de vinte e cinco metros, e a largura, de doze metros e meio. 26 Havia uma escada de sete degraus, e o seu vestíbulo estava diante dela; e tinha palmeiras esculpidas nos pilares, tanto de um lado como do outro. 27 O átrio interior também tinha um portão que dava para o sul. Ele mediu de um portão ao outro, na direção do sul, e deu cinquenta metros.

28 Então ele me levou ao átrio interior pelo portão do sul; ele mediu o portão do sul, que tinha as mesmas dimensões dos outros. 29 As suas câmaras, os seus pilares e os seus vestíbulos tinham as mesmas medidas dos outros. Tinham também janelas ao redor dos seus vestíbulos; o comprimento era de vinte e cinco metros, e a largura, de doze metros e meio. 30 Havia vestíbulos ao redor; o comprimento era de vinte e cinco metros, e a largura, de doze metros e meio. 31 O seu vestíbulo dava para o átrio exterior, havia palmeiras esculpidas nos seus pilares, e a sua escada tinha oito degraus.

32 Depois, ele me levou ao átrio interior, para o leste, e mediu o portão, que tinha as mesmas dimensões dos outros portões. 33 Também as suas câmaras, os seus pilares e os seus vestíbulos tinham as mesmas medidas dos outros. Havia também janelas ao redor dos seus vestíbulos; o comprimento era de vinte e cinco metros, e a largura, de doze metros e meio. 34 O seu vestíbulo dava para o átrio exterior, havia palmeiras esculpidas nos seus pilares, de um e de outro lado, e a sua escada tinha oito degraus.

35 Então me levou ao portão do norte e o mediu; tinha as mesmas dimensões dos outros portões. 36 Também as suas câmaras, os seus pilares, os seus vestíbulos e as suas janelas ao redor; o comprimento era de vinte e cinco metros, e a largura, de doze metros e meio. 37 O seu vestíbulo dava para o átrio exterior, havia palmeiras esculpidas nos seus pilares, de um e de outro lado, e a sua escada tinha oito degraus.

38 Havia uma câmara com a sua entrada junto aos pilares dos vestíbulos onde lavavam os holocaustos. 39 No vestíbulo do portão havia duas mesas de um lado e duas do outro, para nelas se degolar os holocaustos e as ofertas pelo pecado e pela culpa. 40 Do lado de fora, na subida para a entrada do portão do norte havia duas mesas; e, no outro lado do vestíbulo do portão, havia duas mesas. 41 Quatro mesas de um lado, e quatro do outro lado do portão; oito mesas, sobre as quais eram mortos os animais do sacrifício. 42 As quatro mesas para os holocaustos eram de pedras lavradas. Tinham setenta e cinco centímetros de comprimento e de largura, e meio metro de altura. Sobre elas se punham os instrumentos com que matavam os animais para os holocaustos e os sacrifícios. 43 Ganchos, de sete centímetros e meio de comprimento, estavam fixados à parede, em toda a sua extensão. Mas a carne para os sacrifícios estava sobre as mesas.

44 Fora do portão interior, no átrio de dentro, estavam duas câmaras. Uma ficava ao lado do portão do norte, e dava para o sul; outra ficava ao lado do portão do sul, e dava para o norte. 45 Ele me disse:

— Esta câmara que dá para o sul é para os sacerdotes que têm a guarda do templo, 46 e a câmara que dá para o norte é para os sacerdotes que têm a guarda do altar. São eles os filhos de Zadoque, os quais, dentre os filhos de Levi, se aproximam do Senhor para o servir.

47 Ele mediu o átrio, que tinha cinquenta metros de comprimento e cinquenta de largura — um quadrado. O altar estava diante do templo.

48 Então me levou ao vestíbulo do templo. Mediu cada pilar do vestíbulo: dois metros e meio de um lado e dois metros e meio do outro. A largura do portão era de um metro e meio de um lado e um metro e meio do outro. 49 O comprimento do vestíbulo era de dez metros, e a largura, de seis metros. Era por degraus que se subia até lá. Havia colunas junto aos pilares, uma de um lado e outra do outro.
