Ezequiel 28

He Kauwhautanga ki te Kīngi o Tāira

1 I puta mai anō te kupu a Ihowā ki ahau, i mea: 2 "E te tama a te tangata, mea atu ki te rangatira o Tāira: Ko te kupu tēnei a te Ariki, a Ihowā;

Kua whakakake nā tōu ngākau,

kua mea, ‘He atua ahau;

e noho ana i te nohoanga o te Atua,

i waenga moana.’

Nā, he tangata nei anō koe, ehara i te atua,

ahakoa ki tau ko tōu ngākau e rite ana ki tō te Atua ngākau.

3 Nanā, nui atu ōu whakaaro i o Raniera;

kāhore he mea ngaro e taea te huna i a koe.

4 He nui nō ōu whakaaro, he mātauranga nōu

i mahia ai e koe he taonga mōu,

i mahia ai e koe he kōura, he hiriwa ki roto

ki ōu whare taonga.

5 He nui noa atu nō ōu whakaaro,

he hokohoko nāu,

i whakaraneatia ai e koe ōu rawa,

ā, whakakake ana tōu ngākau i ōu rawa.

6 Mō reira ko te kupu tēnei a te Ariki, a Ihowā:

Kua whai ake nā tōu ngākau

ki tō te Atua ngākau;

7 mō reira tēnei ahau te kawe nei i ngā tautāngata ki a koe,

te hunga nanakia rawa o ngā iwi;

ā, ka unuhia e rātou ā rātou hoari

hei whawhai ki te ātaahua o ōu whakaaro nui,

ka whakapokea anō e rātou tōu kānapatanga.

8 Ka whakahokia iho koe e rātou ki te poka,

ā, ko te mate mōu, ko ngā mate o te hunga e patua ana

i waenga moana.

9 E mea ake anō rānei koe

ki te aroaro o tōu kaipatu,

‘Ko te Atua ahau,’ otiia he tangata anō koe,

ehara koe i te Atua i roto i te ringa o tōu kaipatu?

10 Ko tōu matenga, ko ngā matenga o te hunga kokotikore

i te ringa o ngā tautāngata.

Nāku hoki te kupu, e ai tā te Ariki, tā Ihowā."

11 I puta mai anō te kupu a Ihowā ki ahau, i mea: 12 "E te tama a te tangata, kia ara tāu tangi mō te kīngi o Tāira, mea atu hoki ki a ia: Ko te kupu tēnei a te Ariki, a Ihowā:

Kei te tino o te pai tāu hīri,

kī tonu koe i ngā whakaaro nunui, pai rerehua te ātaahua.

13 I Erene koe, i te kāri a te Atua e noho ana;

ko tōu hīpoki ko ngā kōhatu utu nui katoa,

ko te harariu, ko te tōpaha, ko te taimana,

ko te perira, ko te onika, ko te hahapa,

ko te hapaira, ko te emerara,

ko te kapakara, ko te kōura.

14 Ko koe te kerupa hīpoki, te mea i whakawahia;

nāku anō koe i mea hei pēnā,

15 Tapatahi tonu koe i ōu ara,

i te rā, rā anō i hangā ai koe,

ā taea noatia te kitenga o te hē i roto i a koe.

16 He nui nō āu hokohokonga i kī ai a roto i a koe i te tutū,

ā, hara iho koe;

mō reira ka makā atu koe, te mea poke,

e ahau i te maunga o te Atua.

Ka ngaro anō koe, e te kerupa hīpoki,

i roto i ngā kōhatu ahi.

17 Kua whakakake tōu ngākau ki tōu ātaahua,

nā tōu kānapatanga i hē ai ōu whakaaro nui.

Kua pangā koe e ahau ki te whenua,

kua tukua koe e ahau ki te aroaro o ngā kīngi,

hei mātakitakinga mā rātou.

18 Kua whakapokea e koe ōu wāhi tapu ki te maha o ōu kino,

ki te hē i a koe i hokohoko rā;

mō reira i whakaputaina mai ai e ahau he ahi i roto i a koe,

hei kai i a koe,

ā, kua meinga anō koe e ahau hei pungarehu ki runga ki te whenua

i te tirohanga a te hunga katoa e kite ana i a koe.

19 Ko te hunga katoa e mōhio ana ki a koe

i roto i ngā iwi ka mīharo ki a koe.

Ka ai koe hei whakawehi,

kore tonu ake koe, ake ake."

20 I puta mai anō te kupu a Ihowā ki ahau, i mea: 21 "E te tama a te tangata, anga atu tōu mata ki Hairona, poropititia hoki te hē mō reira, 22 mea atu: Ko te kupu tēnei a te Ariki, a Ihowā:

Nanā, hei hoariri ahau mōu, e Hairona;

ka whai korōria anō hoki ahau i roto i a koe;

ā, ka mōhio rātou ko Ihowā ahau,

ina mahia e ahau he whakawā i roto i a ia,

ina whakatapua ahau i roto i a ia.

23 Ka ungā atu hoki e ahau te mate urutā ki a ia,

me te toto ki ōna ara;

ka hinga hoki te hunga i werohia i waenga ōna,

mea rawa ki te hoari i runga i a ia ā tawhio noa;

ā, ka mōhio rātou ko Ihowā ahau.

24 "Kāhore hoki he tātarāmoa ngau ā muri ake nei ki te whare o Īharaira, kāhore he tūmatakuru whakamamae a te hunga katoa i tētahi taha o rātou, i tētahi taha, a te hunga rā i whakahāwea ki a rātou; ā, ka mōhio rātou ko te Ariki ahau, ko Ihowā."

25 "Ko te kupu tēnei a te Ariki, a Ihowā: Ka oti te whare o Īharaira te kohikohi e ahau i roto i ngā iwi i whakamararatia atu ai rātou, ā, ka oti ahau te whakatapu i runga i a rātou i te tirohanga a ngā iwi, ko reira rātou noho ai ki tō rātou oneone i hoatu e ahau ki tāku pononga, ki a Hākopa. 26 Ka noho anō rātou ki reira, tē ai he wehi; āe rā, ka hanga whare anō rātou, ka whakatō māra wāina, ka āta noho anō hoki, ina mahia e ahau he whakawā ki te hunga katoa i whakahāwea ki a rātou i tētahi taha o rātou, i tētahi taha; ā, ka mōhio rātou ko Ihowā ahau, ko tō rātou Atua."

1 The word of Jehovah came again unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyre, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thy heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art man, and not God, though thou didst set thy heart as the heart of God;— 3 behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that is hidden from thee; 4 by thy wisdom and by thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures; 5 by thy great wisdom and by thy traffic hast thou increased thy riches, and thy heart is lifted up because of thy riches;— 6 therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou hast set thy heart as the heart of God, 7 therefore, behold, I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations; and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness. 8 They shall bring thee down to the pit; and thou shalt die the death of them that are slain, in the heart of the seas. 9 Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou art man, and not God, in the hand of him that woundeth thee. 10 Thou shalt die the death of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord Jehovah.

11 Moreover the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 12 Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. 13 Thou wast in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, the topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was in thee; in the day that thou wast created they were prepared. 14 Thou wast the anointed cherub that covereth: and I set thee, so that thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till unrighteousness was found in thee. 16 By the abundance of thy traffic they filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore have I cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God; and I have destroyed thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 17 Thy heart was lifted up because of thy beauty; thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I have cast thee to the ground; I have laid thee before kings, that they may behold thee. 18 By the multitude of thine iniquities, in the unrighteousness of thy traffic, thou hast profaned thy sanctuaries; therefore have I brought forth a fire from the midst of thee; it hath devoured thee, and I have turned thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. 19 All they that know thee among the peoples shall be astonished at thee: thou art become a terror, and thou shalt nevermore have any being.

20 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 21 Son of man, set thy face toward Sidon, and prophesy against it, 22 and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, O Sidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee; and they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her. 23 For I will send pestilence into her, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall fall in the midst of her, with the sword upon her on every side; and they shall know that I am Jehovah. 24 And there shall be no more a pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor a hurting thorn of any that are round about them, that did despite unto them; and they shall know that I am the Lord Jehovah.

25 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the nations, then shall they dwell in their own land which I gave to my servant Jacob. 26 And they shall dwell securely therein; yea, they shall build houses, and plant vineyards, and shall dwell securely, when I have executed judgments upon all those that do them despite round about them; and they shall know that I am Jehovah their God.
