1 Então o Espírito me ergueu e me levou para a porta do templo do Senhor, que dá para o oriente. Ali, à entrada da porta, havia vinte e cinco homens, e vi entre eles Jazanias, filho de Azur, e Pelatias, filho de Benaia, líderes do povo.2 O Senhor me disse: "Filho do homem, estes são os homens que estão tramando o mal e dando maus conselhos nesta cidade.3 Eles dizem: ‘Não será logo o tempo de construir casas? Esta cidade é uma panela, e nós somos a carne dentro dela’.4 Portanto, profetize contra eles; profetize, filho do homem".5 Então o Espírito do Senhor veio sobre mim, e mandou-me dizer: "Assim diz o Senhor: É isso que vocês estão dizendo, ó nação de Israel, mas eu sei em que vocês estão pensando.6 Vocês mataram muita gente nesta cidade e encheram as suas ruas de cadáveres.7 "Portanto, assim diz o Soberano Senhor: Os corpos que vocês jogaram nas ruas são a carne, e esta cidade é a panela, mas eu os expulsarei dela.8 Vocês têm medo da espada, e a espada é o que trarei contra vocês, palavra do Soberano Senhor.9 Eu os expulsarei da cidade e os entregarei nas mãos de estrangeiros e lhes castigarei.10 Vocês cairão pela espada, e eu os julgarei nas fronteiras de Israel. Então vocês saberão que eu sou o Senhor.11 Esta cidade não será uma panela para vocês, nem vocês serão carne nela; eu os julgarei nas fronteiras de Israel.12 E vocês saberão que eu sou o Senhor, pois vocês não agiram segundo os meus decretos nem obedeceram às minhas leis, mas se conformaram aos padrões das nações ao seu redor".13 Ora, enquanto eu estava profetizando, Pelatias, filho de Benaia, morreu. Então prostrei-me, rosto em terra, e clamei em alta voz: "Ah! Soberano Senhor! Destruirás totalmente o remanescente de Israel? "14 Esta palavra do Senhor veio a mim:15 "Filho do homem, seus irmãos, sim, seus irmãos que são seus parentes consangüíneos e toda a nação de Israel, são aqueles de quem o povo de Jerusalém tem dito: ‘Eles estão longe do Senhor. É a nós que esta terra foi dada, para ser nossa propriedade’.16 "Portanto diga: ‘Assim diz o Soberano Senhor: Embora eu os tenha mandado para terras muito distantes entre os povos e os tenha espalhado entre as nações, por breve período tenho sido um santuário para eles nas terras para onde foram’.17 "Portanto, diga: ‘Assim diz o Soberano Senhor: Eu os ajuntarei dentre as nações e os trarei de volta das terras para onde vocês foram espalhados, e lhes devolverei a terra de Israel’.18 "Eles voltarão para ela e retirarão todas as suas imagens repugnantes e os seus ídolos detestáveis.19 Darei a eles um coração não dividido e porei um novo espírito dentro deles; retirarei deles o coração de pedra e lhes darei um coração de carne.20 Então agirão segundo os meus decretos e serão cuidadosos em obedecer às minhas leis. Eles serão o meu povo, e eu serei o seu Deus.21 Mas, quanto àqueles cujos corações estão afeiçoados às suas imagens repugnantes e aos ídolos detestáveis, farei cair sobre suas próprias cabeças aquilo que eles têm feito, palavra do Soberano Senhor".22 Então os querubins, com as rodas ao lado, estenderam as asas, e a glória do Deus de Israel estava sobre eles.23 A glória do Senhor subiu da cidade e parou sobre o monte que fica a leste dela.24 Então o Espírito ergueu-me e levou-me aos que estavam exilados na Babilônia, na visão dada pelo Espírito de Deus. Findou-se então a visão que eu estava tendo,25 e contei aos exilados tudo o que o Senhor tinha me mostrado.

1 Moreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the east gate of Yahweh's house, which looks eastward: and look, at the door of the gate five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.2 And he said to me, Son of Man, these are the men who devise iniquity, and who give wicked counsel in this city;3 who say, [The time] is not near to build houses: this [city] is the cauldron, and we are the flesh.4 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O Son of Man.5 And the Spirit of Yahweh fell on me, and he said to me, Speak, Thus says Yahweh: Thus you{+} have said, O house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your{+} mind.6 You{+} have multiplied your{+} slain in this city, and you{+} have filled its streets with the slain.7 Therefore thus says the Sovereign Yahweh: Your{+} slain whom you{+} have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this [city] is the cauldron; but you{+} will be brought forth out of the midst of it.8 You{+} have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword on you{+}, says the Sovereign Yahweh.9 And I will bring you{+} forth out of the midst of it, and deliver you{+} into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you{+}.10 You{+} will fall by the sword; I will judge you{+} in the border of Israel; and you{+} will know that I am Yahweh.11 This [city] will not be your{+} cauldron, neither will you{+} be the flesh in the midst of it; I will judge you{+} in the border of Israel;12 and you{+} will know that I am Yahweh: for you{+} have not walked in my statutes, neither have you{+} executed my ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you{+}.13 And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Sovereign Yahweh! Will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel?14 And the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,15 Son of Man, your brothers, even your brothers, the men of your kindred, and all the house of Israel, all of them, [are they] to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get{+} far from Yahweh; to us this land is given for a possession.16 Therefore say, Thus says the Sovereign Yahweh: Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet I will be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they have come.17 Therefore say, Thus says the Sovereign Yahweh: I will gather you{+} from the peoples, and assemble you{+} out of the countries where you{+} have been scattered, and I will give you{+} the land of Israel.18 And they will come there, and they will take away all its detestable and disgusting things from there.19 And I will give them another heart, and I will put a new spirit inside you{+}; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh;20 that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them: and they will be my people, and I will be their God.21 But those whose heart walks after their detestable things and disgusting things, I will bring their way on their own heads, says the Sovereign Yahweh.22 Then the cherubim lifted up their wings, and the wheels were beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.23 And the glory of Yahweh went up from the midst of the city, and stood on the mountain which is on the east side of the city.24 And the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.25 Then I spoke to them of the captivity all the things that Yahweh had shown me.
