1 *Hes 3:12, 14, 8:3, 43:5. Sedan lyfte Anden upp mig och förde mig till östra porten av Herrens hus, den som ligger mot öster. Och se, vid ingången till porten befann sig tjugofem män. Bland dem såg jag Jaasanja, Asurs son, och Pelatja, Benajas son, ledare bland folket. 2 Då sade han till mig: "Människobarn, det är dessa män som tänker ut ont och ger onda råd här i staden. 3 *Jer 29:5, Hes 12:22, 27, 24:3f. Det är de som säger: Det är inte tid att bygga hus. Här är grytan och vi är köttet. 4 Profetera därför mot dem, människobarn, profetera!"

5 Då föll Herrens Ande över mig, och han sade till mig: "Säg: Så säger Herren: Detta är vad ni tänker, ni av Israels hus, det som stiger upp i ert sinne känner jag till. 6 *Jes 1:15, Hes 7:23, 9:9. Ni har slagit många här i staden, ni har fyllt gatorna med döda. 7 Därför säger Herren Gud så: Kropparna av dem som ni har slagit i staden, de är köttet, och staden är grytan. Men er ska jag föra bort därifrån. 8 *3 Mos 26:14f, 25. Ni är rädda för svärdet, och svärdet ska jag låta komma över er, säger Herren Gud. 9 Jag ska föra er bort härifrån och ge er i främlingars hand, och jag ska hålla dom över er. 10 *2 Kung 25:6f, 18f, Jer 39:5f, 52:9f, 24f. Ni ska falla för svärdet. Vid Israels gräns ska jag döma er. Och ni ska inse att jag är Herren. 11 Staden ska inte vara en gryta för er, och ni ska inte vara köttet i den. Jag ska döma er vid Israels gräns. 12 Och ni ska inse att jag är Herren och att ni inte har följt mina stadgar och inte gjort efter mina bud utan levt efter lagarna hos de hednafolk som bor runt omkring er."

13 *Jes 10:20, Hes 9:8. Medan jag profeterade på detta sätt dog Pelatja, Benajas son. Då föll jag ner på mitt ansikte och ropade med hög röst: "O, Herre Gud, vill du helt göra slut på det som är kvar av Israel?" 14 Då kom Herrens ord till mig: 15 *2 Kung 24:12f. "Människobarn, det är till dina bröder, ja, dina egna bröder, dina nära släktingar och till hela Israels hus som Jerusalems invånare säger: Håll er borta från Herren. Det är vi som har fått landet till egendom. 16 *Jes 8:14, Jer 24:5f. Därför ska du säga: Så säger Herren Gud: Fastän jag förde dem långt bort bland hednafolken och spred ut dem i främmande länder, blev jag en tid en helgedom för dem i de länder dit de hade kommit. 17 *Jer 23:3, Hes 20:41f, 28:25. Därför ska du säga: Så säger Herren Gud: Jag ska samla er från folken och föra er tillbaka från de länder dit ni skingrats, och jag ska ge er Israels land.

18 När de har kommit dit, ska de göra sig av med alla avskyvärda avgudar och alla vidrigheter som finns där. 19 *5 Mos 30:6, Ps 51:12, Jer 24:7, 32:39, Hes 18:31, 36:26f, Sef 3:9, Apg 4:32. Jag ska ge dem ett och samma hjärta*11:19ett och samma hjärtaAndra handskrifter (så Peshitta och Septuaginta): "ett nytt hjärta" (jfr Hes 18:31, 36:26)., och en ny ande ska jag lägga i deras bröst. Jag ska ta bort stenhjärtat ur deras kropp och ge dem ett hjärta av kött, 20 *Jer 24:7, 31:33, Hes 34:30f, 36:28, Sak 8:8, Hebr 8:10. för att de ska vandra efter mina stadgar och hålla mina bud och följa dem. De ska vara mitt folk, och jag ska vara deras Gud. 21 *Hes 9:10, 16:43. Men då det gäller dem som vandrar efter sina hjärtans vidrigheter och följer sina avskyvärda avgudar, ska jag låta det de gjort komma över deras huvuden, säger Herren Gud."

22 *Hes 9:3, 10:1, 19. Då lyfte keruberna sina vingar och hjulen följde dem, och härligheten från Israels Gud var över dem. 23 *Hes 10:19, Sak 14:4.Her­rens härlighet höjde sig och lämnade staden och stannade på berget öster om staden*11:23berget öster om stadenOlivberget, platsen för Jesu himmelsfärd i NT (Apg 1:12)..

24 *Hes 3:14f, 8:3. Men Anden lyfte mig upp och i en syn från Guds Ande förde han mig till de bortförda i Kaldeen. Sedan försvann den syn jag hade fått se. 25 Och jag talade till de bortförda alla de ord som Herren hade uppenbarat för mig.

4 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man. 5 And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them. 6 Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain. 7 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it. 8 Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord GOD. 9 And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you. 10 Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 11 This city shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof; but I will judge you in the border of Israel: 12 And ye shall know that I am the LORD: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after the manners of the heathen that are round about you.*11.12 for ye…: or, which have not walked

13 And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?

14 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 15 Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the LORD: unto us is this land given in possession. 16 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come. 17 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. 18 And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence. 19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: 20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 21 But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord GOD.

22 Then did the cherubims lift up their wings, and the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above. 23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

24 Afterwards the spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me. 25 Then I spake unto them of the captivity all the things that the LORD had shewed me.
