O contraste entre os justos e os ímpios

1 Feliz é o homem que não *Pv 4.4anda segundo o *Sl 5.9-10;10.2-11;36.1-4conselho dos iníquos,

nem no *Sl 17.4;119.104caminho dos pecadores se detém,

nem na roda dos escarnecedores se *Sl 26.5;Jr 15.17assenta.

2 Mas o seu *Sl 119.14,16prazer está na lei de Jeová,

e na sua lei medita *Sl 25.5de dia e de *Sl 63.5-6noite.

3 Ele é qual *Sl 92.12-14;Jr 17.8;Ez 19.10árvore plantada junto às correntes das águas,

que, em tempo próprio, dá o seu fruto,

e cuja folha não cai.

Ele *Gn 39.2-3,23leva ao fim tudo quanto empreende.

4 Não são assim os iníquos,

mas são como *Sl 35.5;Is 17.13;Jó 21.8a moinha que o vento dispersa.

5 Por isso, *Sl 5.5os iníquos não subsistirão no *Sl 9.7-8,16juízo,

nem os pecadores, *Sl 89.5,7na congregação dos justos.

6 Pois Jeová *Na 1.7;2Tm 2.19conhece o caminho dos justos,

mas o caminho dos *Sl 9.5-6;11.6iníquos perecerá.

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.*1.1 ungodly: or, wicked

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.*1.3 wither: Heb. fade

4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
