A loucura e impiedade dos homens

1 Disse no seu coração o *Sl 53.1-6;14.1-7insensato: Não há Deus.

Corromperam e fizeram abomináveis as suas ações;

não houve quem fizesse o bem.

2 Deus olhou lá dos céus sobre os filhos dos homens,

para ver se havia alguém que tivesse entendimento,

que buscasse a Deus.

3 Todos se desviaram, juntamente se fizeram imundos.

Não há quem faça o bem, não há nem sequer um.

4 Acaso, não têm conhecimento os que obram a iniquidade?

Os quais comem o meu povo como comem pão

e não invocam a Deus.

5 Ali, ficaram eles tomados de grande pavor, *Lv 26.17,36;Pv 28.1onde não havia motivo de pavor.

Porque Deus *Sl 141.7;Jr 8.1-2;Ez 6.5dispersou os ossos daquele que se acampou contra ti;

tu os *Sl 44.7envergonhaste, *2Rs 17.20;Jr 6.30;Lm 5.22porque Deus os rejeitou.

6 Oxalá que a salvação de Israel tivesse já vindo de Sião!

Quando Deus puser termo ao cativeiro do seu povo,

regozije-se Jacó, e alegre-se Israel.
