Um grito de angústia e maldições sobre os adversários

1 Salva-me, ó Deus,

porque as *Sl 32.6;42.7;69.14-15;Jó 22.11águas me entraram até a alma.

2 Atolado estou em profundo *Sl 40.2lamaçal,

onde não se pode firmar o pé;

entrei nas profundezas das águas,

e a *Jn 2.3corrente me submerge.

3 Estou *Sl 6.6cansado de gritar, e ressequida está a minha garganta;

*Sl 38.10;119.82,123;Dt 28.32;Is 38.14definham-se-me os olhos, enquanto espero por meu Deus.

4 São mais que os cabelos da minha cabeça os que *Sl 35.19;Jo 15.25sem causa *Sl 35.19;38.19;59.3me odeiam.

*Sl 35.11;Jr 15.10Por isso, tive de restituir o que não estorquira.

5 Ó Deus, tu conheces a *Sl 38.5minha estultícia,

e as *Sl 44.21minhas culpas não te são ocultas.

6 Não sejam *2Sm 12.14envergonhados por minha causa os que em ti esperam, ó Jeová, Deus dos Exércitos;

não sejam por meu respeito confundidos os que te buscam, ó Deus de Israel.

7 Pois, *Jr 15.15por amor de ti, tenho suportado afrontas;

*Sl 44.15;Is 50.6;Jr 51.51confusão me cobre o rosto.

8 Tornei-me *Sl 31.11;38.11;Jó 19.13-15estranho a meus irmãos

e alheio para os filhos de minha mãe.

9 Pois o *Sl 119.139;Jo 2.17zelo da tua casa me consumiu,

e *Sl 89.41,50;Rm 15.3as afrontas dos que te afrontam caíram sobre mim.

10 Quando chorei e *Sl 35.13castiguei a minha alma com jejum,

isso se me tornou em afrontas.

11 Quando *Sl 35.13;1Rs 20.31do cilício fiz o meu vestido,

fui para eles um *Sl 44.14;1Rs 9.7;Jó 17.6;Jr 24.9provérbio.

12 Falam de mim os que estão *Gn 19.1;Rt 4.1sentados à porta;

sou objeto das *Jó 30.9cantigas dos bêbados.

13 Mas, quanto a mim, ó Jeová, a minha oração dirige-se a ti *Sl 32.6;Is 49.8;2Co 6.2em tempo aceitável;

Ó Deus, na *Sl 51.1multidão da tua benignidade,

responde-me na verdade da tua salvação.

14 *Sl 69.2Livra-me do tremedal, e que não me afunde eu;

*Sl 144.7seja eu salvo dos que me odeiam e *Sl 69.2das profundezas das águas.

15 Não me submerja a *Sl 124.4-5corrente das águas,

nem me trague o abismo;

16 Responde-me, Jeová, porque é boa a tua *Sl 63.3;109.21benignidade;

*Sl 51.1;106.45segundo a multidão das tuas ternas misericórdias, *Sl 25.16;86.16volta-te para mim.

porque estou *Sl 31.9;66.14angustiado, responde-me depressa.

18 Aproxima-te da minha alma e *Sl 26.11;49.15;2Sm 4.9redime-a;

*Sl 119.134resgata-me por causa dos meus inimigos.

19 Tu conheces o meu *Sl 22.6;31.11opróbrio, a minha vergonha e a minha ignomínia;

os meus adversários estão todos diante de ti.

20 O opróbrio tem-me *Jr 23.9quebrantado o coração, e estou gravemente doente.

*Jó 16.2e por quem me confortasse, mas a ninguém achei.

21 Deram-me também *Dt 29.18fel por comida

22 Torne-se-lhes *Rm 11.9-10a mesa diante deles em laço;

e, *1Ts 5.3quando estiverem seguros, sejam-lhes armadilha.

23 *Is 6.10Obscureçam-se-lhes os olhos, para que não vejam;

E faze que os seus *Dn 5.6lombos tremam constantemente.

e apanhe-os o furor da tua ira.

29 Eu, porém, sou *Sl 70.5aflito e amargurado;

ponha-me a tua salvação, ó Deus, *Sl 20.1;59.1em alto retiro.

30 *Sl 28.7Louvarei o nome de Deus com um cântico

e o *Sl 34.3exaltarei com *Sl 50.14ação de graças.

31 Será isso mais *Sl 50.13-14;51.16do agrado de Jeová do que um boi

ou novilho com chifres e unhas.

32 Isso veem *Sl 34.2os mansos e se alegram.

Quanto a vós que buscais a Deus, *Sl 22.26reviva o vosso coração

33 Pois *Sl 12.5Jeová ouve os necessitados

*Sl 68.6e não despreza os seus prisioneiros.

34 Louvem-no *Sl 96.11;98.7;148.1-13;Is 44.23;49.13os céus e a terra,

os mares e quanto neles se move.

35 Pois Deus *Sl 46.5;51.18salvará a Sião e *Sl 147.2;Is 44.26edificará as cidades de Judá;

e ali habitarão e *Ob 17as possuirão.

36 Também a *Sl 25.13;102.28descendência dos seus servos as herdará;

e os que amam o nome dele nelas *Sl 37.29habitarão.

1 Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.

3 I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.

4 They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.

5 O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.*69.5 sins: Heb. guiltiness

6 Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.

7 Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.

8 I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother’s children.

9 For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.

10 When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.

11 I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.

12 They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards.*69.12 drunkards: Heb. drinkers of strong drink

13 But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.

14 Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.

15 Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.

16 Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.

17 And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.*69.17 hear…: Heb. make haste to hear me

18 Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.

19 Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee.

20 Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.*69.20 to take…: Heb. to lament with me

21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

22 Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.

23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.

24 Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.

25 Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.*69.25 their habitation: Heb. their palace*69.25 let none…: Heb. let there not be a dweller

26 For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.*69.26 those…: Heb. thy wounded

28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

29 But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.

30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

31 This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.

32 The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.*69.32 humble: or, meek

33 For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners.

34 Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein.*69.34 moveth: Heb. creepeth

35 For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.

36 The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.
