Oração dum ancião para que Deus o liberte

1 *Sl 71.1-3;31.1-3Em ti, Jeová, me refugio;

não seja eu jamais envergonhado.

2 Livra-me na tua retidão e resgata-me;

inclina para mim os teus ouvidos e salva-me.

3 Sê para mim uma rocha de *Sl 90.1;91.9;Dt 33.27morada a que sempre me acolha.

*Sl 7.6;42.8Tu hás ordenado que eu seja salvo,

porquanto tu és a *Sl 18.2minha rocha e a minha fortaleza.

4 *Sl 140.1,4Livra-me, Deus meu, da mão do iníquo,

do poder do malfeitor e do violento.

5 Pois tu és a minha *Sl 39.7;Jr 14.8;17.7,13,17;50.7esperança, Senhor Jeová;

és a minha *Sl 22.9confiança desde a minha mocidade.

6 Em ti me tenho *Sl 22.10;Is 46.3escorado desde que nasci;

tu és aquele que me *Sl 22.9;Jó 10.18tiraste das entranhas de minha mãe.

*Sl 34.1De ti se fará sempre o meu hino de louvor.

7 Tornei-me um *Is 8.18;1Co 4.9portento para muitos,

mas tu és o *Sl 61.3meu forte refúgio.

8 A minha *Sl 63.5boca encher-se-á do teu louvor,

*Sl 96.6;104.1e da tua glória, de contínuo.

9 Não me enjeites *Sl 71.18;92.14;Is 46.4no tempo da velhice;

quando faltar a minha força, não me desampares.

10 Pois falam de mim os meus inimigos,

e os que *Sl 56.6espreitam a minha alma *Sl 31.13;83.3;Mt 27.1consultam juntos,

11 dizendo: *Sl 3.2Deus o desamparou;

persegui-o e tomai-o, pois *Sl 7.2não há quem o livre.

12 Ó Deus, *Sl 10.1;22.11;35.22;38.21não te apartes de mim;

Deus meu, *Sl 38.22;40.13;70.5dá-te pressa em me socorrer.

13 Sejam *Sl 35.4,26;40.14envergonhados e consumidos os que são adversários da minha alma;

sejam *Sl 109.29cobertos de opróbrio e ignomínia os que *Sl 71.24;Et 9.2buscam o meu mal.

14 Mas, quanto a mim, sempre *Sl 130.7esperarei

e ainda te *Sl 71.8louvarei mais e mais.

15 A minha *Sl 35.28boca relatará a tua justiça

*Sl 96.2e a tua salvação, de contínuo,

pois não lhes *Sl 40.5poderei saber o número.

16 Virei com os *Sl 106.2poderosos feitos do Senhor Jeová;

*Sl 51.14farei menção da tua justiça, da tua tão somente.

17 Ó Deus, tu me *Dt 4.5;6.7tens ensinado desde a minha mocidade;

e até agora tenho *Sl 26.7;40.5;119.27declarado as tuas maravilhas.

18 Até à *Sl 71.9velhice e às cãs, ó Deus, não me desampares;

até que eu tenha *Sl 22.31;78.4,6declarado a tua força à geração vindoura

e o teu poder a todo o que há de vir.

19 *Sl 36.6;57.10A tua justiça, ó Deus, atinge os céus.

Tu que *Sl 126.2;Lc 1.49tens feito grandezas;

ó Deus, *Sl 35.10;Dt 3.24quem é semelhante a ti?

20 Tu, que nos *Sl 60.3fizeste ver muitas e penosas tribulações,

de novo, nos *Sl 80.18;85.6;119.25;138.7;Os 6.2restituirás à vida

e, *Sl 86.13das profundezas da terra, nos tornarás a trazer.

21 Aumenta a *Sl 18.35minha grandeza

e torna a *Sl 23.4;86.17;Is 12.1;49.13confortar-me.

22 Eu também te darei graças ao som do *Sl 33.2;81.2;144.9saltério,

celebrarei a tua verdade, Deus meu.

Cantarei a ti louvores ao som da *Sl 33.2;147.7harpa,

*Sl 78.41;89.18;Is 1.4ó Santo de Israel.

23 Os meus lábios *Sl 5.11;32.11;132.9,16exultarão, quando eu cantar os teus louvores;

exultará a *Sl 34.22;55.18;103.4minha alma, que tu remiste.

24 Também a minha *Sl 35.28língua celebrará a tua justiça continuamente,

porque estão *Sl 71.13envergonhados, porque estão confundidos os que buscam o meu mal.

2 Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.

4 Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.

5 For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.

6 By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.

7 I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.

8 Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.

9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

10 For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,*71.10 lay…: Heb. watch, or, observe

11 Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.

12 O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.

13 Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.

14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.

15 My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.

16 I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.

17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.

18 Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.*71.18 when…: Heb. unto old age and gray hairs*71.18 thy strength: Heb. thine arm

19 Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!

20 Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

21 Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.

22 I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.*71.22 the psaltery: Heb. the instrument of psaltery

23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.

24 My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.
