1 Quando entrares na terra que Jeová teu Deus te está dando por herança, e a possuíres e nela habitares;2 tomarás das primícias de todos os frutos do solo que recolheres da tua terra que Jeová teu Deus te está dando; pô-los-ás num cesto e irás ao lugar que Jeová teu Deus escolher para ali fazer habitar o seu nome.3 Chegarás ao sacerdote que estiver de serviço nesses dias, e lhe dirás: Hoje declaro a Jeová teu Deus que entrei na terra que ele prometeu com juramento a nossos pais que nos daria.4 O sacerdote, tomando o cesto da tua mão, pô-lo-á defronte de Jeová teu Deus.5 Então responderás: Um arameu, prestes a perecer, era meu pai, e desceu ao Egito, para ali peregrinar com pouca gente. Ali veio a ser nação grande, forte e numerosa.6 Os egípcios nos maltrataram, nos afligiram, e nos impuseram uma dura servidão.7 Clamamos a Jeová, Deus de nossos pais, e ele ouviu a nossa voz, e viu a nossa aflição, o nosso trabalho e a nossa opressão;8 e tirou-nos do Egito com mão forte, e com braço estendido, e com grande espanto, e com milagres e com portentos.9 Introduziu-nos neste lugar, numa terra que mana leite e mel.10 Eis que agora trago as primícias dos frutos do solo, que tu, ó Jeová, me deste. Assim as porás diante de Jeová teu Deus, e o adorarás.11 Alegrar-te-ás por todo o bem que Jeová teu Deus te há dado a ti e a tua casa, tu e o levita e o peregrino que está no meio de ti.12 Quando tiveres acabado de dizimar todos os dízimos da tua novidade no terceiro ano, que é o ano do dízimo, dá-lo-ás ao levita, ao peregrino, ao órfão e à viúva, para que comam dentro das tuas portas e se fartem.13 Dirás diante de Jeová teu Deus: Tirei da minha casa as coisas consagradas, e também as dei ao levita, ao peregrino, ao órfão e à viúva, de acordo com todo o teu mandamento que me ordenaste. Não transgredi nenhum dos teus mandamentos, nem deles me esqueci.14 Delas não comi no meu luto, nem delas tirei coisa alguma, quando eram imundas, nem delas dei para os mortos; eu ouvi a voz de Jeová meu Deus, fiz segundo tudo o que me ordenaste.15 Olha desde a tua santa habitação, desde o céu, e abençoa o teu povo de Israel, e o solo que nos deste, assim como prometeste com juramento a nossos pais, uma terra que mana leite e mel.16 Hoje Jeová teu Deus te ordena que observes estes estatutos e juízos, portanto os guardarás e observarás de todo o teu coração e de toda a tua alma.17 Hoje fizeste Jeová dizer que te será por Deus, e que andarás nos seus caminhos, guardarás os seus estatutos, os seus mandamentos e os seus juízos e ouvirás a sua voz.18 Jeová hoje te fez dizer que lhe serás por seu próprio povo, como te prometeu, e que guardarás todos os seus mandamentos;19 de modo que, acima de todas as nações que ele fez, te exalte para seu louvor, renome e honra; a fim de que sejas um povo santo a Jeová teu Deus, como disse.

1 »When you enter the land Jehovah your God gives you as an inheritance you will possess it and live in it.2 »Take some of the first of all the produce of the ground that you bring in from your land that Jehovah your God gives you, and put it in a basket and go to the place where Jehovah your God chooses to establish His name.3 »Go to the priest who is in office at that time and say to him: I declare this day to Jehovah my God! I have entered the land Jehovah swore to our fathers to give us.4 »The priest will take the basket from your hand and set it down before the altar of Jehovah your God.5 »Answer before Jehovah your God: ‘My father was a wandering Aramean, and he went down to Egypt and traveled there. They were few in number but he became a great, mighty and populous nation.6 »‘The Egyptians treated us harshly and afflicted us. They imposed hard labor on us.7 »‘We cried out to Jehovah, the God of our fathers, and Jehovah heard our voice. He saw our affliction and our toil and our oppression.8 »‘Jehovah brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with great terror and with signs and wonders.9 »‘He brought us to this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.10 »‘Now behold, I have brought the first of the produce of the ground that You, O Jehovah have given me. Set it down before Jehovah your God, and worship before Jehovah your God.’11 »You, the Levite and the alien among you will rejoice in all the good Jehovah your God has given you and your household.12 ‘Finish paying all the tithe of your increase in the third year, the year of tithing. Then you shall give it to the Levite, the stranger, and the orphan and to the widow, that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied.13 »Say before Jehovah your God: ‘I have removed the sacred portion from my house. I also have given it to the Levite and the alien, the orphan and the widow, according to all your commandments that you have commanded me. I have not transgressed or forgotten any of your commandments.14 »‘I have not eaten of it while mourning. I have not removed any of it while I was unclean, nor offered any of it to the dead. I have listened to the voice of Jehovah my God. I have done according to all that you have commanded me.15 »‘Look down from your holy place in heaven and bless your people Israel. Bless the ground you have given us, a land flowing with milk and honey, as you swore to our fathers.’16 »This day Jehovah your God commands you to do these statutes and ordinances. You shall therefore be careful to do them with all your heart and with all your being.17 »You declared Jehovah to be your God today. You said you would walk in his ways and keep his statutes, his commandments and his ordinances, and listen to his voice.18 »Jehovah declared you to be his people and a treasured possession. Obey his commandments and receive his promise.19 »He will set you high above all nations that he has made, for praise, fame, and honor. You will be a consecrated people to Jehovah your God, as he has spoken.
