O amor redentor de Deus e a restauração de Israel

1 Naquele tempo, diz Jeová, serei o *Jr 30.22Deus de todas *Gn 17.7-8;Is 41.10;Rm 11.26-28as famílias de Israel, e elas serão o meu povo. 2 Assim diz Jeová: O povo que escapou da espada *Nm 14.20achou graça no deserto. Eu irei e *Êx 33.14;Js 1.13darei descanso a Israel. 3 Da terra longínqua apareceu-me Jeová, dizendo: Com amor eterno *Dt 4.37;7.8te amei, portanto com *Sl 25.6benignidade te atraí. 4 *Jr 24.6;33.7De novo te edificarei, e serás edificada, *Jr 31.21virgem de Israel; ainda serás adornada com os teus *Is 30.32atabales, e sairás nas danças dos que *Jr 30.19se alegram. 5 Ainda *Sl 107.37;Is 65.21;Ez 28.26plantarás vinhas *Jr 50.19nos montes da Samaria; plantarão os plantadores, e lograrão os frutos delas. 6 Pois haverá um dia em que os vigias sobre os planaltos de Efraim gritarão: Levantai-vos, *Jr 31.12;Jr 3.18;50.4-5;Is 2.3e subamos a Sião, a Jeová nosso Deus.

7 Pois assim diz Jeová: *Jr 20.13;Sl 14.7Cantai sobre Jacó com alegria, e exultai sobre *Dt 28.13;Is 61.9a cabeça das nações; publicai, louvai e dizei: *Sl 28.9Salva, Jeová, ao teu povo, *Jr 23.3;Is 37.31o resto de Israel. 8 Eis que *Jr 3.18;23.8os trarei da terra boreal, *Dt 30.4;Is 43.6e os congregarei dos últimos confins da terra, e juntamente com eles *Is 42.16o cego, *Is 40.11;Ez 34.16;Mq 4.6o coxo, a mulher grávida e a que está do parto: voltarão para aqui uma grande companhia. 9 *Jr 50.4;Sl 126.5-6Com choro virão, e com súplicas os levarei; guiá-los-ei *Is 43.20;49.10aos ribeiros de águas por um caminho plano, em que *Is 63.13não tropeçarão. Pois tornei-me *Jr 3.4,19;Is 64.8pai de Israel, e Efraim é o meu primogênito.

10 Ouvi, nações, a palavra de Jeová, e anunciai-a *Jr 25.22;Is 66.19às ilhas remotas; dizei: Aquele que espalhou a Israel, *Jr 50.19congregá-lo-á, e o guardará, *Is 40.11como pastor o seu rebanho. 11 Pois Jeová *Jr 15.21;50.34;Is 44.23;48.20resgatou a Jacó, e o remiu da mão de quem era *Sl 142.6mais forte do que ele. 12 *Jr 31.6-7Virão e cantarão de júbilo *Ez 17.23na altura de Sião, *Is 2.2;Mq 4.1e correrão à bondade de Jeová; *Os 2.22;Jl 3.18ao trigo, e ao mosto, e ao azeite, e às crias *Jr 31.24;Jr 33.12-13das ovelhas e das vacas; a sua alma será como *Is 58.11jardim regado; *Is 35.10;60.20;65.19;Jo 16.22e nunca mais desfalecerão. 13 Então se alegrará a virgem *Jz 21.21;Sl 30.11;Zc 8.4-5na dança, como também os mancebos e os velhos juntamente; porque *Is 61.3converterei o seu pranto em gozo, os consolarei e *Is 51.11os alegrarei, passada a sua tristeza. 14 *Jr 31.25Saciarei de gordura a alma dos sacerdotes, e o meu povo *Jr 50.19se fartará com a minha bondade, diz Jeová.

Raquel consolada

15 Assim diz Jeová: Ouviu-se um clamor *Jr 40.1;Js 18.25;Jz 4.5;Is 10.29;Mt 2.18em Ramá, lamento e choro amargo, era Raquel chorando a seus filhos. *Gn 37.35;Sl 77.2Ela não quer ser consolada acerca de seus filhos, porque *Jr 10.20;Gn 5.24;42.13,36já não existem. 16 Assim diz Jeová: *Is 25.8;30.19Faze a tua voz cessar de chorar, e de verterem lágrimas os teus olhos; porque *Rt 2.12;Hb 6.10há recompensa para a tua obra, diz Jeová; os teus filhos *Jr 30.3;Ez 11.17voltarão da terra do inimigo. 17 Há *Jr 29.11esperança para o teu futuro, diz Jeová, e teus filhos voltarão para os seus termos. 18 Na verdade ouvi a Efraim *Jr 3.21queixando-se e dizendo: *Jó 5.17;Sl 94.12Castigaste-me, e sofri o castigo como *Os 4.16novilho ainda não domado. *Jr 17.14;Sl 80.3,7,19;At 3.26Converte-me, e serei convertido; pois tu és Jeová, meu Deus. 19 Certamente depois que me converti, *Ez 36.31;Zc 12.10arrependi-me; depois que fui instruído, *Ez 21.12;Lc 18.13bati na coxa. Fiquei *Jr 3.25envergonhado e confundido, porque suportei *Jr 22.21;Sl 25.7o opróbrio da minha mocidade. 20 Acaso é *Os 11.8Efraim meu querido filho? é ele criança em quem me deleito? pois quantas vezes falo contra ele, tantas vezes me lembro dele ternamente. Comovem-se *Gn 43.30;Jz 10.16as minhas entranhas por ele; certamente *Is 55.7;Os 14.4me compadecerei dele, diz Jeová.

A prosperidade futura de Israel

21 *Jr 6.16Põe-te marcos, faze-te postes que te guiem; dirige o teu coração à estrada, ao caminho por que tu foste: *Is 48.20;52.11volta, *Jr 31.4virgem de Israel, volta para essas tuas cidades. 22 Até quando *Jr 2.23;13.27andarás errante, *Jr 49.4filha apóstata? pois Jeová criou uma coisa nova sobre a terra: uma mulher cercará a um varão.

23 Assim diz Jeová dos Exércitos, Deus de Israel: Ainda proferirão este dito na terra de Judá, e nas suas cidades, quando *Jr 30.18;32.44eu fizer voltar o seu cativeiro: Jeová te abençoe, *Jr 50.7;Is 1.26ó morada da justiça, *Sl 48.1;87.1ó monte da santidade! 24 Nele *Jr 31.12;Ez 36.10;Zc 8.4-8habitarão Judá e todas as suas cidades juntamente; os lavradores e os que pastoreiam os rebanhos. 25 Pois *Jr 31.12,14;Sl 107.9;Mt 5.6;Jo 4.14saciei a alma cansada, e fartei toda a alma desfalecida. 26 Nisto *Zc 4.1despertei, e olhei; *Pv 3.24e o meu sono foi doce para mim.

27 Eis que vêm os dias, diz Jeová, em que *Ez 36.9,11;Os 2.23semearei a casa de Israel e a casa de Judá com a semente de homens, e com a semente de animais. 28 Assim como *Jr 44.27;Dn 9.14vigiei sobre eles para *Jr 1.10;18.7-8arrancar, para demolir, para subverter, para destruir e para afligir, do mesmo modo vigiarei sobre eles para *Jr 1.10;32.41edificar e para plantar, diz Jeová. 29 Naqueles dias não dirão mais: *Ez 18.2;Lm 5.7Os pais comeram uvas verdes, e os dentes dos filhos se embotaram. 30 Mas *Dt 24.16;Is 3.11;Ez 18.4,20cada um morrerá pela sua iniquidade; todo o homem que comer uvas verdes, a esse é que lhe ficarão botos os dentes.

Realização duma nova aliança

31 *Jr 31.31-34;Hb 8.8-12Eis que vêm os dias, diz Jeová, em que farei *Jr 32.40;Ez 37.26;Lc 22.20;1Co 11.25;2Co 3.6;Hb 8.8-12uma nova aliança com a casa de Israel e com a casa de Judá, 32 não segundo *Êx 19.5;24.6-8;Dt 5.2-3a aliança que fiz com seus pais no dia em que *Dt 1.31;Is 63.12os tomei pela mão para os tirar da terra do Egito (essa minha aliança, eles *Jr 11.7-8a invalidaram, ainda que *Jr 3.14me desposei com eles, diz Jeová). 33 *Hb 10.16-17Mas esta é a *Jr 32.40aliança que farei com a casa de Israel depois daqueles dias, diz Jeová: Imprimirei a minha lei no seu interior, e a escreverei no *Jr 24.7;32.40seu coração; eu serei o seu Deus, e eles serão o meu povo; 34 *1Ts 4.9;1Jo 2.27não ensinará mais cada um ao seu próximo, dizendo: Conhece a Jeová; porque todos *Jr 24.7;Is 11.9;54.13;Hc 2.14me conhecerão desde o menor até o maior deles, diz Jeová. *Jr 50.20;Mq 7.18Pois perdoarei a sua iniquidade, e não me lembrarei mais *Is 43.25dos seus pecados.

35 *Jr 33.20,25Assim diz Jeová, que *Gn 1.14-18;Dt 4.19;Sl 19.1-6;136.7-9dá o sol para a luz do dia, e as ordenanças da lua e das estrelas para a luz da noite, que agita o mar, de maneira que bramem as suas ondas. *Jr 10.16;32.18;50.34Jeová dos Exércitos é o seu nome. 36 *Jr 33.20-26;Sl 89.36-37;Is 54.9-10Se estas ordenanças faltarem diante de mim, *Am 9.8-9cessará também a linhagem de Israel de ser uma nação diante de mim para sempre. 37 Assim diz Jeová: *Jr 33.22;Is 40.12Se puder ser medido o céu lá em cima, e se puderem ser sondados os fundamentos da terra cá em baixo, também *Jr 33.24-26;Rm 11.2-5,26-27eu rejeitarei toda a linhagem de Israel, por tudo quanto têm feito, diz Jeová.

38 Eis que vêm os dias, diz Jeová, em que *Jr 31.4;Jr 30.18a cidade será edificada para Jeová desde *Ne 3.1;12.39;Zc 14.10a torre de Hananeel até *2Rs 14.13;2Cr 26.9a porta da esquina. 39 O cordel da medida ainda se estenderá em linha direta até o outeiro de Garebe, e dará volta até Goá. 40 *Jr 7.32;8.2O vale inteiro dos cadáveres e da cinza, e todos os campos até a torrente de *2Sm 15.23;2Rs 23.6,12;Jo 18.1Cedrom, até a esquina da *2Rs 11.16;2Cr 23.15;Ne 3.28porta dos cavalos para o oriente, será tudo *Jl 3.17;Zc 14.20santo a Jeová; nunca mais será arrancado, nem demolido.

1 "At that time," says Yahweh, "I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they will be my people."

2 Yahweh says, "The people who survive the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest."

3 Yahweh appeared of old to me, saying,

"Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love.

Therefore I have drawn you with loving kindness.

4 I will build you again,

and you will be built, O virgin of Israel.

You will again be adorned with your tambourines,

and will go out in the dances of those who make merry.

5 Again you will plant vineyards on the mountains of Samaria.

The planters will plant,

and will enjoy its fruit.

6 For there will be a day that the watchmen on the hills of Ephraim cry,

‘Arise! Let’s go up to Zion to Yahweh our God.’"

7 For Yahweh says,

"Sing with gladness for Jacob,

and shout for the chief of the nations.

Publish, praise, and say,

‘Yahweh, save your people,

the remnant of Israel!’

8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country,

and gather them from the uttermost parts of the earth,

along with the blind and the lame,

the woman with child and her who travails with child together.

They will return as a great company.

9 They will come with weeping.

I will lead them with petitions.

I will cause them to walk by rivers of waters,

in a straight way in which they won’t stumble;

for I am a father to Israel.

Ephraim is my firstborn.

10 "Hear Yahweh’s word, you nations,

and declare it in the distant islands. Say,

‘He who scattered Israel will gather him,

and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock.’

11 For Yahweh has ransomed Jacob,

and redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he.

12 They will come and sing in the height of Zion,

and will flow to the goodness of Yahweh,

to the grain, to the new wine, to the oil,

and to the young of the flock and of the herd.

Their soul will be as a watered garden.

They will not sorrow any more at all.

13 Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance,

the young men and the old together;

for I will turn their mourning into joy,

and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

14 I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness,

and my people will be satisfied with my goodness," says Yahweh.

15 Yahweh says:

"A voice is heard in Ramah,

lamentation and bitter weeping,

Rachel weeping for her children.

She refuses to be comforted for her children,

because they are no more."

16 Yahweh says:

"Refrain your voice from weeping,

and your eyes from tears,

for your work will be rewarded," says Yahweh.

"They will come again from the land of the enemy.

17 There is hope for your latter end," says Yahweh.

"Your children will come again to their own territory.

18 "I have surely heard Ephraim grieving thus,

‘You have chastised me,

and I was chastised, as an untrained calf.

Turn me, and I will be turned,

for you are Yahweh my God.

19 Surely after that I was turned.

I repented.

After that I was instructed.

I struck my thigh.

I was ashamed, yes, even confounded,

because I bore the reproach of my youth.’

20 Is Ephraim my dear son?

Is he a darling child?

For as often as I speak against him,

I still earnestly remember him.

Therefore my heart yearns for him.

I will surely have mercy on him," says Yahweh.

21 "Set up road signs.

Make guideposts.

Set your heart toward the highway,

even the way by which you went.

Turn again, virgin of Israel.

Turn again to these your cities.

22 How long will you go here and there,

you backsliding daughter?

For Yahweh has created a new thing in the earth:

a woman will encompass a man."

23 Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: "Yet again they will use this speech in the land of Judah and in its cities, when I reverse their captivity: ‘Yahweh bless you, habitation of righteousness, mountain of holiness.’ 24 Judah and all its cities will dwell therein together, the farmers, and those who go about with flocks. 25 For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul."

26 On this I awakened, and saw; and my sleep was sweet to me.

27 "Behold, the days come," says Yahweh, "that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and with the seed of animal. 28 It will happen that, like as I have watched over them to pluck up and to break down and to overthrow and to destroy and to afflict, so I will watch over them to build and to plant," says Yahweh. 29 "In those days they will say no more,

"‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,

and the children’s teeth are set on edge.’

30 But everyone will die for his own iniquity. Every man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth will be set on edge.

31 "Behold, the days come," says Yahweh, "that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah, 32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, which covenant of mine they broke, although I was a husband to them," says Yahweh. 33 "But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days," says Yahweh:

"I will put my law in their inward parts,

and I will write it in their heart.

I will be their God,

and they shall be my people.

34 They will no longer each teach his neighbor,

and every man teach his brother, saying, ‘Know Yahweh;’

for they will all know me,

from their least to their greatest," says Yahweh,

"for I will forgive their iniquity,

and I will remember their sin no more."

35 Yahweh, who gives the sun for a light by day,

and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night,

who stirs up the sea, so that its waves roar—

Yahweh of Armies is his name, says:

36 "If these ordinances depart from before me," says Yahweh,

"then the offspring of Israel also will cease from being a nation before me forever."

37 Yahweh says: "If heaven above can be measured,

and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath,

then I will also cast off all the offspring of Israel for all that they have done," says Yahweh.

38 "Behold, the days come," says Yahweh, "that the city will be built to Yahweh from the tower of Hananel to the gate of the corner. 39 The measuring line will go out further straight onward to the hill Gareb, and will turn toward Goah. 40 The whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields to the brook Kidron, to the corner of the horse gate toward the east, will be holy to Yahweh. It will not be plucked up or thrown down any more forever."
