A excelência da criação e das suas leis, assim como da palavra de Deus

Ao cantor-mor. Salmo de Davi

1 Os *Sl 8.1;50.6;Rm 1.19-20céus proclamam a glória de Deus,

e o *Gn 1.6-7firmamento anuncia as obras das suas mãos.

2 Um dia profere palavras a *Sl 74.16outro dia,

e uma *Sl 139.12noite revela conhecimento a outra noite.

3 Não há fala, nem palavras;

não se lhe ouve a voz.

4 Por toda a terra estende-se a sua *Rm 10.18linha,

e as suas palavras vão até os confins do mundo.

Neles, *Sl 104.2pôs uma tenda para o sol,

5 o qual, como noivo que sai do seu tálamo,

se regozija, como herói, para correr a sua carreira.

6 A *Sl 113.3sua saída é desde a extremidade do céu,

e o seu circuito, até os confins dele;

e nada há que ao seu calor se esconda.

7 A lei de Jeová é *Sl 119.160perfeita e *Sl 23.3refrigera a alma;

o testemunho de Jeová é *Sl 93.5fiel e *Sl 119.98-100dá sabedoria ao simples.

8 Os preceitos de Jeová são *Sl 119.128retos e *Sl 119.14alegram o coração;

o mandamento de Jeová é *Sl 12.6puro e *Sl 36.9esclarece os olhos.

9 O temor de Jeová é limpo e permanece para sempre;

os juízos de Jeová são *Sl 119.142verdadeiros e inteiramente *Sl 119.138justos.

10 Eles são mais para desejar do que *Sl 119.72,127o ouro, sim, do que muito ouro fino;

e são mais *Sl 119.103doces do que o mel e o que os favos destilam.

11 Demais disso, por eles é o teu servo *Sl 17.4advertido;

e, em os guardar, há grande *Sl 24.5-6;Pv 29.18galardão.

12 Quem pode *Sl 40.12;139.6discernir os seus erros?

13 Também de *Nm 15.30pecados de presunção guarda ao teu servo;

14 Sejam agradáveis as palavras da minha boca e *Sl 104.34a meditação do meu coração perante a tua face,

1 The heavens declare the glory of God.

The expanse shows his handiwork.

2 Day after day they pour out speech,

and night after night they display knowledge.

3 There is no speech nor language

where their voice is not heard.

4 Their voice has gone out through all the earth,

their words to the end of the world.

In them he has set a tent for the sun,

5 which is as a bridegroom coming out of his room,

like a strong man rejoicing to run his course.

6 His going out is from the end of the heavens,

his circuit to its ends.

There is nothing hidden from its heat.

7 Yahweh’s law is perfect, restoring the soul.

Yahweh’s covenant is sure, making wise the simple.

8 Yahweh’s precepts are right, rejoicing the heart.

Yahweh’s commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes.

9 The fear of Yahweh is clean, enduring forever.

Yahweh’s ordinances are true, and righteous altogether.

10 They are more to be desired than gold, yes, than much fine gold,

sweeter also than honey and the extract of the honeycomb.

11 Moreover your servant is warned by them.

In keeping them there is great reward.

12 Who can discern his errors?

Forgive me from hidden errors.

13 Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins.

Let them not have dominion over me.

Then I will be upright.

I will be blameless and innocent of great transgression.

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart

be acceptable in your sight,

Yahweh, my rock, and my redeemer.
