1 Την όγδοη μέρα, ο Μωυσής κάλεσε τον Ααρών και τους γιους του, καθώς και τους πρεσβυτέρους του Ισραήλ, 2 και είπε στον Ααρών: «Πάρε ένα μικρό μοσχάρι, για θυσία εξιλέωσης και ένα κριάρι, για θυσία ολοκαυτώματος, και τα δύο χωρίς ελάττωμα, και πρόσφερέ τα ενώπιον του Κυρίου. 3 Έπειτα θα πεις στους Ισραηλίτες να πάρουν έναν τράγο, για θυσία εξιλέωσης, ένα μοσχάρι κι ένα πρόβατο ενός χρόνου, και τα δυο χωρίς ελάττωμα, κατάλληλα για θυσία ολοκαυτώματος· 4 ένα βόδι κι ένα κριάρι, για τη θυσία κοινωνίας ενώπιον του Κυρίου, και μια αναίμακτη προσφορά ποτισμένη με λάδι. Σήμερα θα σας φανερωθεί ο Κύριος».

5 Έφεραν λοιπόν όσα διέταξε ο Μωυσής μπροστά στη σκηνή του Μαρτυρίου κι έπειτα όλη η κοινότητα πλησίασε και στάθηκε ενώπιον του Κυρίου. 6 Ο Μωυσής τους είπε: «Προσέξτε τι διέταξε ο Κύριος να κάνετε, ώστε να σας φανερωθεί η δόξα του». 7 Και είπε στον Ααρών: «Πλησίασε στο θυσιαστήριο και πρόσφερε τη θυσία σου εξιλέωσης και τη θυσία του ολοκαυτώματός σου και κάνε την εξιλαστήρια τελετουργία για σένα και για το λαό· πρόσφερε επίσης τη θυσία του λαού, και κάνε την τελετουργία για την εξιλέωσή του, όπως διέταξε ο Κύριος».

8 Ο Ααρών πλησίασε στο θυσιαστήριο και έσφαξε το μοσχάρι της θυσίας εξιλέωσης για τη δική του αμαρτία. 9 Έπειτα οι γιοι του τού έφεραν το αίμα, βούτηξε το δάχτυλό του σ’ αυτό και άλειψε τα κέρατα του θυσιαστηρίου, και το υπόλοιπο αίμα το έχυσε στη βάση του. 10 Το λίπος του ζώου που προσφέρθηκε για την εξιλέωση της αμαρτίας, τα νεφρά και το λοβό του συκωτιού, τα έκαψε πάνω στο θυσιαστήριο, όπως ο Κύριος το είχε διατάξει στο Μωυσή. 11 Το κρέας και το δέρμα τα έκαψε έξω από το στρατόπεδο.

12 Κατόπιν έσφαξε το ζώο που προοριζόταν για το ολοκαύτωμα. Οι γιοι του τού έφεραν το αίμα και το έχυσε γύρω στο θυσιαστήριο. 13 Έπειτα του έφεραν το ζώο του ολοκαυτώματος κομμένο σε τεμάχια καθώς και το κεφάλι, κι αυτός τα έκαψε στο θυσιαστήριο. 14 Έπλυνε τα εντόσθια και τα πόδια και τα έκαψε μαζί με το ολοκαύτωμα στο θυσιαστήριο.

15 Μετά έφερε κοντά του την προσφορά του λαού. Πήρε τον τράγο που ήταν να θυσιαστεί για τη συγχώρηση των αμαρτιών του λαού, τον έσφαξε και τον πρόσφερε θυσία εξιλέωσης, όπως είχε κάνει με το προηγούμενο ζώο. 16 Έπειτα έφερε το ζώο που προοριζόταν για τη θυσία του ολοκαυτώματος και το πρόσφερε σύμφωνα με τα κανονισμένα. 17 Κατόπιν, αφού έφερε κοντά του την αναίμακτη προσφορά, πήρε απ’ αυτήν μια χούφτα καλά γεμάτη και την έκαψε πάνω στο θυσιαστήριο, εκτός από το ολοκαύτωμα της πρωινής θυσίας. 18 Τέλος έσφαξε το βόδι και το κριάρι για τη θυσία κοινωνίας του λαού· οι γιοι του έφεραν το αίμα κι αυτός το ράντισε γύρω στο θυσιαστήριο. 19 Το λίπος από το βόδι και το κριάρι, δηλαδή την ουρά και το λίπος που περιβάλλει τα εντόσθια, τα νεφρά κι αυτό που είναι στο λοβό του συκωτιού, 20 όλο αυτό το λίπος, το έβαλαν πάνω στα κομμάτια του στήθους και αυτός το έκαψε πάνω στο θυσιαστήριο. 21 Ο Ααρών πήρε τα δύο στήθη και τον δεξιό μηρό απ’ το κάθε ζώο και τα πρόσφερε με την ειδική τελετουργική κίνηση στον Κύριο, όπως το είχε διατάξει ο Μωυσής.

22 Τότε ο Ααρών σήκωσε τα χέρια του προς το λαό και τους ευλόγησε· έπειτα κατέβηκε απ’ το θυσιαστήριο, αφού είχε προσφέρει τις θυσίες εξιλέωσης, ολοκαυτώματος και κοινωνίας. 23 Ο Μωυσής και ο Ααρών μπήκαν στη σκηνή του Μαρτυρίου· έπειτα βγήκαν και ευλόγησαν το λαό. Τότε η δόξα του Κυρίου φανερώθηκε σ’ όλο το λαό. 24 Ξαφνικά, ο Κύριος έστειλε φωτιά και κατέφαγε το ολοκαύτωμα και τα λιπαρά μέρη που ήταν πάνω στο θυσιαστήριο. Όταν ο λαός το είδε αυτό, φώναζαν όλοι από χαρά και έπεσαν με το πρόσωπο κατά γης.

1 And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel; 2 And he said unto Aaron, Take thee a young calf for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the LORD. 3 And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a kid of the goats for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both of the first year, without blemish, for a burnt offering; 4 Also a bullock and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the LORD; and a meat offering mingled with oil: for to day the LORD will appear unto you.

5 And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tabernacle of the congregation: and all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD. 6 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you. 7 And Moses said unto Aaron, Go unto the altar, and offer thy sin offering, and thy burnt offering, and make an atonement for thyself, and for the people: and offer the offering of the people, and make an atonement for them; as the LORD commanded.

8 Aaron therefore went unto the altar, and slew the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself. 9 And the sons of Aaron brought the blood unto him: and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the bottom of the altar: 10 But the fat, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver of the sin offering, he burnt upon the altar; as the LORD commanded Moses. 11 And the flesh and the hide he burnt with fire without the camp. 12 And he slew the burnt offering; and Aaron’s sons presented unto him the blood, which he sprinkled round about upon the altar. 13 And they presented the burnt offering unto him, with the pieces thereof, and the head: and he burnt them upon the altar. 14 And he did wash the inwards and the legs, and burnt them upon the burnt offering on the altar.

15 And he brought the people’s offering, and took the goat, which was the sin offering for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first. 16 And he brought the burnt offering, and offered it according to the manner.*9.16 manner: or, ordinance 17 And he brought the meat offering, and took an handful thereof, and burnt it upon the altar, beside the burnt sacrifice of the morning.*9.17 took…: Heb. filled his hand out of it 18 He slew also the bullock and the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings, which was for the people: and Aaron’s sons presented unto him the blood, which he sprinkled upon the altar round about, 19 And the fat of the bullock and of the ram, the rump, and that which covereth the inwards, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver: 20 And they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the altar: 21 And the breasts and the right shoulder Aaron waved for a wave offering before the LORD; as Moses commanded. 22 And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings.

23 And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the people. 24 And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.
