1 Senhor, vós sois meu Deus; exaltar-vos-ei e celebrarei vosso nome, porque executastes maravilhosos desígnios, concebidos, de há muito, com firme constância.2 Reduzistes a cidade a um montão de pedras e a fortaleza a um acervo de ruínas. A cidadela dos orgulhosos está aniquilada e jamais será reconstruída.3 Por isso um povo forte vos glorifica e a sociedade das nações valentes vos venera.4 Porque vós sois refúgio para o fraco, refúgio para o pobre na sua tribulação, abrigo contra a tempestade e sombra contra o calor. {Porque o sopro dos tiranos é como uma tempestade de inverno,5 como o calor sobre uma terra árida. Vós fazeis cessar o clamor dos tiranos, assim como cessa o calor à sombra de uma nuvem. O canto triunfal dos tiranos extinguir-se-á}.6 O Senhor dos exércitos preparou para todos os povos, nesse monte, um banquete de carnes gordas, um festim de vinhos velhos, de carnes gordas e medulosas, de vinhos velhos purificados.7 Nesse monte tirará o véu que vela todos os povos, a cortina que recobre todas as nações,8 e fará desaparecer a morte para sempre. O Senhor Deus enxugará as lágrimas de todas as faces e tirará de toda a terra o opróbrio que pesa sobre o seu povo, porque o Senhor o disse.9 Naquele dia dirão: Eis nosso Deus do qual esperamos nossa libertação. Congratulemo-nos, rejubilemo-nos por seu socorro,10 porque a mão do Senhor repousa neste monte, enquanto que Moab é pisada no seu lugar como pisada é a palha no monturo.11 Aí estende as suas mãos como as estende o nadador para nadar. Porém, {o Senhor} abate o seu orgulho, e frustra-lhe o esforço das mãos.12 Suas muralhas, soberbas e fortes, ele as faz cair e as arrasa até o rés-do-chão.

1 O LORD, thou [art] my God; I will exalt thee; I will praise thy name for thou hast done wonders, the counsels of old, the truth unchanging.2 That thou hast turned the city into a heap; the defenced city into [a] ruin: the palace of strangers to not be [a] city; it shall never be rebuilt.3 Therefore the strong people shall glorify thee; the city of the strong Gentiles shall fear thee.4 For thou hast been strength to the poor, strength to the needy in his distress, refuge from the storm, shadow from the heat, for the force of the violent [is] as a storm [against] the wall.5 As the heat in a dry place, thou shalt bring down the pride of the strangers; [even as] with heat [that burns] beneath [a] cloud, thou shalt cause the offshoot of the stout ones to wither.6 And in this mountain the LORD of the hosts shall make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of purified wines, of fat things full of marrow, of purified liquids.7 And he will undo in this mountain the mask of the covering with which all the peoples are covered and the veil that is extended over all the Gentiles.8 He will destroy death forever; and the Lord GOD shall wipe away every tear from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people he shall take away from off all the earth: for the LORD has determined [it].9 And it shall be said in that day, Behold, this [is] our God, whom we have waited for, and he has saved us: this [is] the LORD, whom we have waited for, we will be glad and rejoice in his saving health.10 For in this mountain the hand of the LORD shall rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.11 And he shall extend his hand in the midst of him as he that swims spreads forth [his hand] to swim: and he shall bring down his pride with the members of his hands12 and lay siege to the fortress of thy high walls; he shall humble it and bring it down to the ground, [even] to the dust.:
