MRI2012

1 "Put the trumpet to your lips!

Something like an eagle is over Yahwehs house,

because they have broken my covenant

and rebelled against my law.

2 They cry to me, My God, we, Israel, acknowledge you!

3 Israel has cast off that which is good.

The enemy will pursue him.

4 They have set up kings, but not by me.

They have made princes, and I didn’t approve.

Of their silver and their gold they have made themselves idols,

that they may be cut off.

5 Let Samaria throw out his calf idol!

My anger burns against them!

How long will it be until they are capable of purity?

6 For this is even from Israel!

The workman made it, and it is no God;

indeed, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.

7 For they sow the wind,

and they will reap the whirlwind.

He has no standing grain.

The stalk will yield no head.

If it does yield, strangers will swallow it up.

8 Israel is swallowed up.

Now they are among the nations like a worthless thing.

9 For they have gone up to Assyria,

like a wild donkey wandering alone.

Ephraim has hired lovers for himself.

10 But although they sold themselves among the nations,

I will now gather them;

and they begin to waste away because of the oppression of the king of mighty ones.

11 Because Ephraim has multiplied altars for sinning,

they became for him altars for sinning.

12 I wrote for him the many things of my law,

but they were regarded as a strange thing.

13 As for the sacrifices of my offerings,

they sacrifice meat and eat it,

but Yahweh doesn’t accept them.

Now he will remember their iniquity,

and punish their sins.

They will return to Egypt.

14 For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces;

and Judah has multiplied fortified cities;

but I will send a fire on his cities,

and it will devour its fortresses."

Ka Whakahētia e Ihowā a Īharaira te Whakapakoko

1 "Meinga te tētere ki tōu māngai!

Ka rite ia ki te ēkara, ina whakaekea e ia te whare o Ihowā;

rātou i whakataka i tāku kawenata,

i takahi i tāku, ture.

2 Tērā rātou e karanga ki ahau,

E tōku Atua, e mōhio ana mātou, a Īharaira, ki a koe!

3 Kua ākiritia e Īharaira te mea pai;

ka whāia ia e te hoariri.

4 "Ko rātou whakarite kīngi ehara i te mea nāku,

ko rātou whakarite rangatira ehara i te mea i mōhiotia e ahau.

Kua hangā e rātou rātou hiriwa,

ko rātou kōura hei whakapakoko rātou,

he mea e hātepea ai rātou.

5 Kua ākiritia e ia tāu kūao kau, e Hamaria.

Kua mura tōku riri ki a rātou.

Kia pēhea ake te roa ka tae ai rātou ki te harakore?

6 Īharaira nei hoki taua kūao ,

he mea hanga te kaimahi;

ehara ia i te Atua.

Āe , ka pakaru rikiriki

te kūao o Hamaria.

7 ", ko rātou i whakatō ai ko te hau,

ko rātou e kokoti ai ko te paroro.

Kāhore ōna wīti e tupu ana;

e kore te kōpuku e whai parāoa.

Ki te whai parāoa,

ka horomia e ngā tautāngata.

8 "Kua horomia a Īharaira;

kua rite rātou ināianei i roto i ngā tauiwi

ki te oko kīhai i manakohia.

9 Kua riro hoki rātou ki Ahiria,

anō he kāihe mohoao, he moke, ko ia anake;

kua utua e Ēparaima ētahi hei whaiāipo.

10 Āe , ahakoa utu noa rātou i roto i ngā iwi,

ka kohikohia anō rātou e ahau āianei;

ā, ka tīmata rātou te iti haere,

i te pīkaunga a te kīngi o ngā rangatira.

11 "Kua maha nei ngā āta a Ēparaima hei mea hara,

, ka waiho ngā āta hei hara mōna.

12 Ahakoa tuhituhia e ahau māna tāku ture kia tekau mano ngā tikanga,

kei te kīia aua mea he mea rerekē.

13 , ko ngā patunga tapu hei whakahere ki ahau,

e patu kikokiko ana rātou, kainga iho;

otiia kāhore e manakohia ana e Ihowā.

Ākuanei ia mahara ai ki rātou ,

whiu ai i ō rātou hara;

ka hoki rātou ki Īhipa.

14 "Kua wareware hoki a Īharaira ki tōna kaihanga,

ā, kei te hanga temepara;

kua meinga e Hūrā kia maha ngā taiepa;

otiia ka tukua atu e ahau he ahi ki runga ki ōna ,

ā, ka kainga e tērā ōna whare kīngi."
