Of David. 2 \22:1\My God, my God, why are you turned away from me? why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my crying?3 \22:2\O my God, I make my cry in the day, and you give no answer; and in the night, and have no rest.4 \22:3\But you are holy, O you who are seated among the praises of Israel.5 \22:4\Our fathers had faith in you: they had faith and you were their saviour.6 \22:5\They sent up their cry to you and were made free: they put their faith in you and were not put to shame.7 \22:6\But I am a worm and not a man; cursed by men, and looked down on by the people.8 \22:7\I am laughed at by all those who see me: pushing out their lips and shaking their heads they say,9 \22:8\He put his faith in the Lord; let the Lord be his saviour now: let the Lord be his saviour, because he had delight in him.10 \22:9\But it was you who took care of me from the day of my birth: you gave me faith even from my mother's breasts.11 \22:10\I was in your hands even before my birth; you are my God from the time when I was in my mother's body.12 \22:11\Be not far from me, for trouble is near; there is no one to give help.13 \22:12\A great herd of oxen is round me: I am shut in by the strong oxen of Bashan.14 \22:13\I saw their mouths wide open, like lions crying after food.15 \22:14\I am flowing away like water, and all my bones are out of place: my heart is like wax, it has become soft in my body.16 \22:15\My throat is dry like a broken vessel; my tongue is fixed to the roof of my mouth, and the dust of death is on my lips.17 \22:16\Dogs have come round me: I am shut in by the band of evil-doers; they made wounds in my hands and feet.18 \22:17\I am able to see all my bones; their looks are fixed on me:19 \22:18\They make a division of my robes among them, by the decision of chance they take my clothing.20 \22:19\Do not be far from me, O Lord: O my strength, come quickly to my help.21 \22:20\Make my soul safe from the sword, my life from the power of the dog.22 \22:21\Be my saviour from the lion's mouth; let me go free from the horns of the cruel oxen.23 \22:22\I will give the knowledge of your name to my brothers: I will give you praise among the people.24 \22:23\You who have fear of the Lord, give him praise; all you seed of Jacob, give him glory; go in fear of him, all you seed of Israel.25 \22:24\For he has not been unmoved by the pain of him who is troubled; or kept his face covered from him; but he has given an answer to his cry.26 \22:25\My praise will be of you in the great meeting: I will make my offerings before his worshippers.27 \22:26\The poor will have a feast of good things: those who make search for the Lord will give him praise: your heart will have life for ever.28 \22:27\All the ends of the earth will keep it in mind and be turned to the Lord: all the families of the nations will give him worship.29 \22:28\For the kingdom is the Lord's; he is the ruler among the nations.30 \22:29\All the fat ones of the earth will give him worship; all those who go down to the dust will make themselves low before him, even he who has not enough for the life of his soul.31 \22:30\A seed will be his servant; the doings of the Lord will be made clear to the generation which comes after.32 \22:31\They will come and make his righteousness clear to a people of the future because he has done this.

Mon Dieu! mon Dieu! pourquoi m'as-tu abandonné, t'éloignant de ma délivrance, et des paroles de mon rugissement?2 Mon Dieu! je crie de jour, mais tu ne réponds point; et de nuit, et je ne cesse point.3 Toutefois tu es le Saint habitant [au milieu des] louanges d'Israël.4 Nos pères se sont confiés en toi; ils se sont confiés, et tu les as délivrés;5 Ils ont crié vers toi, et ils ont été délivrés; ils se sont appuyés sur toi, et ils n'ont point été confus.6 Mais moi, je suis un ver, et non point un homme, l'opprobre des hommes, et le méprisé du peuple.7 Tous ceux qui me voient, se moquent de moi; ils me font la moue; ils branlent la tête.8 Il s'abandonne, disent-ils, à l'Eternel; qu'il le délivre, et qu'il le retire, puisqu'il prend son bon plaisir en lui.9 Cependant c'est toi qui m'as tiré hors du ventre [de ma mère], qui m'as mis en sûreté lorsque j'étais aux mamelles de ma mère.10 J'ai été mis en ta charge dès la matrice; tu es mon [Dieu] Fort dès le ventre de ma mère.11 Ne t'éloigne point de moi; car la détresse est près [de moi], et il n'y a personne qui me secoure.12 Plusieurs taureaux m'ont environné; de puissants [taureaux] de Basan m'ont entouré.13 Ils ont ouvert leur gueule contre moi, [comme] un lion déchirant et rugissant.14 Je me suis écoulé comme de l'eau, et tous mes os sont déjoints; mon cœur est comme de la cire, s'étant fondu dans mes entrailles.15 Ma vigueur est desséchée comme de la brique, et ma langue tient à mon palais, et tu m'as mis dans la poussière de la mort.16 Car des chiens m'ont environné, une assemblée de méchants m'a entouré; ils ont percé mes mains et mes pieds.17 Je compterais tous mes os un par un; ils me contemplent, ils me regardent.18 Ils partagent entr’eux mes vêtements, et jettent le sort sur ma robe.19 Toi donc, Eternel! ne t'éloigne point; ma force, hâte-toi de me secourir.20 Délivre ma vie de l'épée, [délivre] mon unique de la patte du chien.21 Délivre-moi de la gueule du lion, et réponds-moi [en me retirant] d'entre les cornes des licornes.22 Je déclarerai ton Nom à mes frères, je te louerai au milieu de l'assemblée.23 Vous qui craignez l'Eternel, louez le; toute la race de Jacob, glorifiez-le; et toute la race d'Israël redoutez-le.24 Car il n'a point méprisé ni dédaigné l'affliction de l'affligé, et n'a point caché sa face arrière de lui; mais quand l'affligé a crié vers lui, il l'a exaucé.25 Ma louange commencera par toi dans la grande assemblée; je rendrai mes vœux en la présence de ceux qui te craignent.26 Les débonnaires mangeront, et seront rassasiés; ceux qui cherchent l'Eternel le loueront; votre cœur vivra à perpétuité.27 Tous les bouts de la terre s'en souviendront, et ils se convertiront à l'Eternel, et toutes les familles des nations se prosterneront devant toi.28 Car le règne appartient à l'Eternel, et il domine sur les nations.29 Tous les gens de la terre mangeront, et se prosterneront devant lui; tous ceux qui descendent en la poudre s'inclineront, même celui qui ne peut garantir sa vie.30 La postérité le servira, [et] sera consacrée au Seigneur d'âge en âge.31 Ils viendront, et ils publieront sa justice au peuple qui naîtra, parce qu'il aura fait ces choses.
