Of Asaph. 2 \83:1\O God, do not keep quiet: let your lips be open and take no rest, O God.3 \83:2\For see! those who make war on you are out of control; your haters are lifting up their heads.4 \83:3\They have made wise designs against your people, talking together against those whom you keep in a secret place.5 \83:4\They have said, Come, let us put an end to them as a nation; so that the name of Israel may go out of man's memory.6 \83:5\For they have all come to an agreement; they are all joined together against you:7 \83:6\The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagarites;8 \83:7\Gebal and Ammon and Amalek; the Philistines and the people of Tyre;9 \83:8\Assur is joined with them; they have become the support of the children of Lot. (Selah.)10 \83:9\Do to them what you did to the Midianites; what you did to Sisera and Jabin, at the stream of Kishon:11 \83:10\Who came to destruction at En-dor; their bodies became dust and waste.12 \83:11\Make their chiefs like Oreb and Zeeb; and all their rulers like Zebah and Zalmunna:13 \83:12\Who have said, Let us take for our heritage the resting-place of God.14 \83:13\O my God, make them like the rolling dust; like dry stems before the wind.15 \83:14\As fire burning a wood, and as a flame causing fire on the mountains,16 \83:15\So go after them with your strong wind, and let them be full of fear because of your storm.17 \83:16\Let their faces be full of shame; so that they may give honour to your name, O Lord.18 \83:17\Let them be overcome and troubled for ever; let them be put to shame and come to destruction;19 \83:18\So that men may see that you only, whose name is Yahweh, are Most High over all the earth.

Ô Dieu! ne garde point le silence, ne te tais point, et ne te tiens point en repos, [ô Dieu Fort!]2 Car voici, tes ennemis bruient; et ceux qui te haïssent ont levé la tête.3 Ils ont consulté finement en secret contre ton peuple, et ils ont tenu conseil contre ceux qui se sont retirés vers toi pour se cacher.4 Ils ont dit : venez, et détruisons-les, en sorte qu'ils ne soient plus une nation, et qu'on ne fasse plus mention du nom d'Israël.5 Car ils ont consulté ensemble d'un même esprit; ils ont fait alliance contre toi.6 Les tentes des Iduméens, des Ismaélites, des Moabites, et des Hagaréniens;7 les Guébalites, les Hammonites, les Hamalécites, et les Philistins, avec les habitants de Tyr.8 Assur aussi s'est joint avec eux; ils ont servi de bras aux enfants de Lot : Sélah.9 Fais-leur comme tu fis à Madian, comme à Sisera, [et] comme à Jabin, auprès du torrent de Kison;10 Qui furent défaits à Hen-dor, et servirent de fumier à la terre.11 Fais que les principaux d'entr'eux soient comme Horeb, et comme Zéeb; et que tous leurs Princes soient comme Zébah et Tsalmunah;12 Parce qu'ils ont dit : conquérons-nous les habitations agréables de Dieu.13 Mon Dieu! rends-les semblables à une boule, et au chaume chassé par le vent;14 Comme le feu brûle une forêt, et comme la flamme embrase les montagnes.15 Poursuis-les ainsi par ta tempête, et épouvante-les par ton tourbillon.16 Couvre leurs visages d'ignominie, afin qu'on cherche ton Nom, ô Eternel!17 Qu'ils soient honteux et épouvantés à jamais, qu'ils rougissent, et qu'ils périssent;18 Afin qu'on connaisse que toi seul, qui as nom l’Eternel, es Souverain sur toute la terre.
