Of the sons of Korah Maschil. 2 \44:1\It has come to our ears, O God, our fathers have given us the story, of the works which you did in their days, in the old times,3 \44:2\Uprooting the nations with your hand, and planting our fathers in their place; cutting down the nations, but increasing the growth of your people.4 \44:3\For they did not make the land theirs by their swords, and it was not their arms which kept them safe; but your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your face, because you had pleasure in them.5 \44:4\You are my King and my God; ordering salvation for Jacob.6 \44:5\Through you will we overcome our haters; by your name will they be crushed under our feet who are violent against us.7 \44:6\I will not put faith in my bow, my sword will not be my salvation.8 \44:7\But it is you who have been our saviour from those who were against us, and have put to shame those who had hate for us.9 \44:8\Our pride is in God at all times, to his name we give praise for ever. (Selah.)10 \44:9\But now you have sent us away from you, and put us to shame; you do not go out with our armies.11 \44:10\Because of this we are turned back by the attacker: those who have hate for us take our goods for themselves.12 \44:11\You have made us like sheep which are taken for meat; we are put to flight among the nations.13 \44:12\You let your people go for nothing; your wealth is not increased by their price.14 \44:13\You have made us to be looked down on by our neighbours, we are laughed at and shamed by those who are round about us.15 \44:14\Our name is a word of shame among the nations, a sign for the shaking of heads among the peoples.16 \44:15\My downfall is ever before me, and I am covered with the shame of my face;17 \44:16\Because of the voice of him who says sharp and bitter words; because of the hater and him who is the instrument of punishment.18 \44:17\All this has come on us, but still we have kept you in our memory; and we have not been false to your word.19 \44:18\Our hearts have not gone back, and our steps have not been turned out of your way;20 \44:19\Though you have let us be crushed in the place of jackals, though we are covered with darkest shade.21 \44:20\If the name of our God has gone out of our minds, or if our hands have been stretched out to a strange god,22 \44:21\Will not God make search for it? for he sees the secrets of the heart.23 \44:22\Truly, because of you we are put to death every day; we are numbered like sheep for destruction.24 \44:23\Why are you sleeping, O Lord? awake! and come to our help, do not give us up for ever.25 \44:24\Why is your face covered, and why do you give no thought to our trouble and our cruel fate?26 \44:25\For our souls are crushed down to the dust: our bodies are stretched out on the earth.27 \44:26\Up! and come to our help, and give us salvation because of your mercy.

Сынов Кореевых.2 (43:2) Боже, мы слышали ушами своими, отцы наши рассказывали нам о деле, какое Ты соделал во дни их, во дни древние:3 (43:3) Ты рукою Твоею истребил народы, а их насадил; поразил племена и изгнал их;4 (43:4) ибо они не мечом своим приобрели землю, и не их мышца спасла их, но Твоя десница и Твоя мышца и свет лица Твоего, ибо Ты благоволил к ним.5 (43:5) Боже, Царь мой! Ты – тот же; даруй спасение Иакову.6 (43:6) С Тобою избодаем рогами врагов наших; во имя Твое попрем ногами восстающих на нас:7 (43:7) ибо не на лук мой уповаю, и не меч мой спасет меня;8 (43:8) но Ты спасешь нас от врагов наших, и посрамишь ненавидящих нас.9 (43:9) О Боге похвалимся всякий день, и имя Твое будем прославлять вовек.10 (43:10) Но ныне Ты отринул и посрамил нас, и не выходишь с войсками нашими;11 (43:11) обратил нас в бегство от врага, и ненавидящие нас грабят нас;12 (43:12) Ты отдал нас, как овец, на съедение и рассеял нас между народами;13 (43:13) без выгоды Ты продал народ Твой и не возвысил цены его;14 (43:14) отдал нас на поношение соседям нашим, на посмеяние и поругание живущим вокруг нас;15 (43:15) Ты сделал нас притчею между народами, покиванием головы между иноплеменниками.16 (43:16) Всякий день посрамление мое предо мною, и стыд покрывает лице мое17 (43:17) от голоса поносителя и клеветника, от взоров врага и мстителя:18 (43:18) все это пришло на нас, но мы не забыли Тебя и не нарушили завета Твоего.19 (43:19) Не отступило назад сердце наше, и стопы наши не уклонились от пути Твоего,20 (43:20) когда Ты сокрушил нас в земле драконов и покрыл нас тенью смертною.21 (43:21) Если бы мы забыли имя Бога нашего и простерли руки наши к богу чужому,22 (43:22) то не взыскал ли бы сего Бог? Ибо Он знает тайны сердца.23 (43:23) Но за Тебя умерщвляют нас всякий день, считают нас за овец, [обреченных] на заклание.24 (43:24) Восстань, что спишь, Господи! пробудись, не отринь навсегда.25 (43:25) Для чего скрываешь лице Твое, забываешь скорбь нашу и угнетение наше?26 (43:26) ибо душа наша унижена до праха, утроба наша прильнула к земле.27 (43:27) Восстань на помощь нам и избавь нас ради милости Твоей.
