1 Depois dessas coisas, mostrou-se Jesus outra vez aos discípulos junto ao mar de Tiberíades; e mostrou-se do seguinte modo.

2 Estavam juntos Simão Pedro, e Tomé, chamado Dídimo, e Natanael de Caná da Galileia, e os filhos de Zebedeu, e outros dois dos seus discípulos.

3 Disse-lhes Simão Pedro: Eu vou pescar. Disseram-lhe eles: Nós também vamos contigo. Eles saíram, e imediatamente entraram no barco, e naquela noite não pegaram nada.

4 Mas, vindo a manhã, Jesus ficou na praia; mas os discípulos não sabiam que era Jesus.

5 Então, disse-lhes Jesus: Filhos, tendes algum alimento? Eles responderam-lhe: Não.

6 E ele lhes disse: Lançai a rede ao lado direito do barco, e achareis. Lançaram-na, portanto, e eles não eram capazes de puxá-la por causa da quantidade de peixes.

7 Então, aquele discípulo a quem Jesus amava disse a Pedro: É o Senhor. Ora, quando Simão Pedro ouviu que era o Senhor, cingiu-se com sua capa de pescador, (porque ele estava despido), e lançou-se ao mar.

8 E os outros discípulos vieram no pequeno barco (porque não estavam distantes da terra, senão cerca de duzentos côvados), arrastando a rede com os peixes.

9 Logo que vieram para a terra, eles viram ali brasas, e um peixe posto em cima delas, e pão.

10 Disse-lhes Jesus: Trazei dos peixes que agora apanhastes.

11 Simão Pedro subiu, e puxou a rede para a terra, cheia de cento e cinquenta e três grandes peixes; e apesar de serem tantos, não se rompeu a rede.

12 Disse-lhes Jesus: Vinde e jantai. E nenhum dos discípulos ousava perguntar-lhe: Quem és tu? Sabendo que era o Senhor.

13 Chegou, pois, Jesus, e pegou o pão, e deu-lho, e, semelhantemente, o peixe.

14 Foi esta a terceira vez que Jesus mostrou-se aos seus discípulos, depois de ter ressuscitado dos mortos.

15 Assim, tendo eles jantado, disse Jesus a Simão Pedro: Simão, filho de Jonas, tu me amas mais do que estes? E ele respondeu: Sim, Senhor; tu sabes que eu te amo. Ele disse-lhe: Apascenta os meus cordeiros.

16 Ele disse novamente pela segunda vez: Simão, filho de Jonas, tu me amas? Ele disse-lhe: Sim, Senhor; tu sabes que eu te amo. Ele disse-lhe: Apascenta as minhas ovelhas.

17 Ele disse-lhe pela terceira vez: Simão, filho de Jonas, tu me amas? Pedro entristeceu-se por ele lhe ter dito na terceira vez: Tu me amas? E ele disse-lhe: Senhor, tu sabes todas as coisas, tu sabes que eu te amo. Jesus disse-lhe: Apascenta as minhas ovelhas.

18 Na verdade, na verdade eu te digo: Quando tu eras jovem, te cingias a ti mesmo, e andavas por onde querias; mas, quando envelheceres, estenderás as tuas mãos, e outro te cingirá, e te levará para onde tu não queiras.

19 E falou isso, significando com que morte havia ele de glorificar a Deus. E, tendo falado isso, disse-lhe: Segue-me.

20 Então Pedro, voltando-se, viu que o seguia aquele discípulo a quem Jesus amava, e que também se reclinara sobre o seu peito na ceia, e que dissera: Senhor, quem é que te há de trair?

21 Vendo Pedro a este, disse a Jesus: Senhor, e o que fará a este homem?

22 Disse-lhe Jesus: Se eu quero que ele fique até que eu venha, o que é isso para ti? Segue-me tu.

23 Então, divulgou-se entre os irmãos este dito, que aquele discípulo não havia de morrer; Jesus, porém, não lhe disse que não morreria, mas: Se eu quero que ele fique até que eu venha, o que é isso para ti?

24 Este é o discípulo que testifica dessas coisas e escreveu estas coisas, e nós sabemos que o seu testemunho é verdadeiro.

25 E há ainda também muitas outras coisas que Jesus fez, as quais, se cada uma fosse escrita, eu suponho que nem ainda o mundo todo poderia conter os livros que seriam escritos. Amém.

1 After these things Jesus revealed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias. And He revealed [Himself] this way:

2 Simon Peter, and Thomas called [the] Twin, and Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, and the [sons] of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together.

3 Simon Peter said to them, I am going out to fish. They said to him, We will go with you also. They went out and entered into a boat immediately. And that night they caught nothing.

4 But when the morning had come, Jesus stood on the shore. But the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

5 Then Jesus said to them, Children, do you have anything to eat? They answered Him, No.

6 And He said to them, Cast the net on the right side of the boat and you will find. Therefore they cast, and now they no longer had [the] strength to draw, from the multitude of fish.

7 Then that disciple whom Jesus loves said to Peter, It is the Lord! Then hearing that it is the Lord, Simon Peter girded on [his] coat (for he was naked), and cast himself into the sea.

8 And the other disciples came in a little boat (for they were not far from land, only about two hundred cubits), dragging the net of fish.

9 Then when they went up on the land, they saw a fire of coals there, and a fish lying on [it], and bread.

10 And Jesus said to them, Bring from the fish which you have now caught.

11 Simon Peter went up and drew the net to land, full of big fish, a hundred and fifty-three. And [though] there were so many, the net was not torn.

12 Jesus said to them, Come, break fast. And none of the disciples dared to ask Him, Who are You? knowing that it was the Lord.

13 Then Jesus came and took the bread and gave to them, and in the same way the little fish.

14 This [is] now the three times Jesus was revealed to His disciples, [He] being risen from [the] dead.

15 Then when they broke fast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, [son] of Jonah, do you love Me more than these? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My lambs.

16 He said to him the second time, Simon, [son] of Jonah, do you love Me? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My sheep.

17 He said to him the third time, Simon, [son] of Jonah, do you love Me? Peter was grieved because He said to him a third [time], Do you love Me? And he said to Him, Lord, You know all things, You know that I love You. Jesus said to him, Feed My sheep.

18 Truly, truly, I say to you, When you were young, you girded yourself and walked where you wished. But when you grow old, you shall stretch forth your hands and another shall gird you and carry [you] where [you] do not wish.

19 He spoke this signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, Follow Me.

20 Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following (the one who also leaned on His breast at supper, and said, Lord, who is he who betrays You?)

21 Seeing him, Peter said to Jesus, Lord, and what [of] this one?

22 Jesus said to him, If I desire that he remain until I come, what [is that] to you? You follow Me.

23 Then this saying went abroad among the brothers, that that disciple should not die. Yet Jesus did not say to him, He shall not die, but, If I desire that he remain until I come, what [is that] to you?

24 This is the disciple who testifies of these things and wrote these things. And we know that his testimony is true.

25 And there are also many things, whatever Jesus did, which, if they should be written singly, I suppose the world itself [could] not contain the books that would be written. Amen.
