1 Ko tā te Ariki, ko tā Ihowā tēnei i whakaatu ai ki ahau: Nanā, i hangā e ia he māwhitiwhiti i te tīmatanga o te pihinga ake o tō muri tupu; nanā, ko tō muri tupu ia i muri iho i ā te kīngi tapahanga. 2 Nā, ka poto te tarutaru o te whenua te kai, ka mea ahau, "E te Ariki, e Ihowā, tēnā rā, murua te hē. Mā te aha oti a Hākopa ka ara ai? He iti nei hoki ia!"

3 I puta kē tō Ihowā whakaaro mō tēnei:

"E kore e meatia," e ai tā Ihowā.

4 Ko tā te Ariki, ko tā Ihowā tēnei i whakakite ai ki ahau: Nā, kua karangatia e te Ariki, e Ihowā, he whawhai, he mea ahi, ā, ka pau te rire nui, ā, ka mea kia kainga te whenua. 5 Nā, ka mea ahau, "Kāti rā, e te Ariki, e Ihowā! Mā te aha oti a Hākopa ka ara ai? He iti nei hoki ia!"

6 I puta kē tō Ihowā whakaaro mō tēnei;

"E kore anō tēnei e meatia," e ai tā te Ariki, tā Ihowā.

7 I whakakitea tēnei e ia ki ahau: nā, ko te Ariki e tū ana i runga i te taiepa, he mea paramu ki te aho, me te aho paramu i tōna ringa. 8 Nā, ka mea a Ihowā ki ahau, "Ko te aha e kitea ana e koe, e Āmoho?"

Anō rā ko ahau, "He aho paramu."

Kātahi te Ariki ka kī mai, "Nanā, ka iri i ahau he aho paramu i waenganui i tāku iwi, i a Īharaira; e kore e whakarērea noatia iho tā rātou e ahau ā muri ake nei.

9 Ā, ka ururuatia ngā wāhi tiketike o Īhaka,

ka tūheatia ngā wāhi tapu o Īharaira;

ka whakatika atu anō ahau, me te hoari ki te whare o Ieropoama."

10 Nā, ka unga tāngata a Amatia tohunga o Pētēre ki a Ieropoama kīngi o Īharaira hei kī atu, "Kua whakatakotoria e Āmoho he hē mōu i roto i te whare o Īharaira; kāhore e taea e tēnei whenua te waha āna kupu katoa. 11 Ko te kupu hoki tēnei a Āmoho,

‘Ka mate a Ieropoama i te hoari,

a Īharaira i tō rātou oneone.’ "

E mea nā koe,

‘Kaua e poropiti ki a Īharaira,

kei māturuturu iho anō tētahi kupu āu

hei whakahē mō te whare o Īhaka.’

17 Nō reira ko te kupu tēnei a Ihowā,

‘Tērā tāu wahine e kairau i roto i te pā,

ā, ka hinga āu tama me āu tamāhine i te hoari,

ka wehewehea tōu oneone, mea rawa ki te aho;

ka mate koe i runga i te oneone poke,

ka whakaraua rawatia atu hoki a Īharaira i tōna oneone.’ "

1 ✝ 7.1 vers. 4,7 ASÍ me ha mostrado el Señor Jehová: y he aquí, él criaba langostas al principio que comenzaba á crecer el heno tardío; y he aquí, era el heno tardío después de las siegas del rey.

2 Y acaeció que como acabó de comer la hierba de la tierra, yo dije: Señor Jehová, perdona ahora; ¿quién levantará á Jacob? porque es pequeño.

3 Arrepintióse Jehová de esto: ✝7.3 ver. 6. Dt. 32.36. Jon. 3.10.No será, dijo Jehová.

4 El Señor Jehová me mostró así: y he aquí, llamaba para juzgar por fuego el Señor Jehová; y consumió un gran abismo, y consumió una parte de la tierra.

5 Y dije: Señor Jehová, cesa ahora; ¿quién levantará á Jacob? porque es pequeño.

6 Arrepintióse Jehová de esto: No será esto tampoco, dijo el Señor Jehová.

7 ✝ 7.7 ver. 1 Enseñóme así: he aquí, el Señor estaba sobre un muro hecho á plomo, y en su mano una plomada de albañil.

8 Jehová entonces me dijo: ¿Qué ves, Amós? Y dije: Una plomada de albañil. Y el Señor dijo: He aquí, ✝7.8 2 R. 21.13.yo pongo plomada de albañil en medio de mi pueblo Israel: no le pasaré más:

9 Y los altares de Isaac serán destruídos, y los santuarios de Israel serán asolados; y levantaréme con espada sobre la ✝7.9 ver. 11casa de Jeroboam.

10 Entonces Amasías ✝7.10 1 R. 12.32.sacerdote de ✝7.10 ver. 13. cp. 3.14.Beth-el envió á decir á ✝7.10 cp. 1.1.Jeroboam, rey de Israel: Amós se ha conjurado contra ti en medio de la casa de Israel: la tierra no puede sufrir todas sus palabras.

11 Porque así ha dicho Amós: Jeroboam morirá á cuchillo, é Israel pasará de su tierra en cautiverio.

12 Y Amasías dijo á Amós: ✝7.12 2 S. 24.11.Vidente, vete, y huye á tierra de Judá, y ✝7.12 Mi. 3.5,11.come allá tu pan, y profetiza allí:

13 Y no profetices más en Beth-el, ✝7.13 1 R. 12.29—13.1.porque es santuario del rey, y cabecera del reino.

14 Entonces respondió Amós, y dijo á Amasías: No soy profeta, ni soy ✝7.14 2 R. 2.3.hijo de profeta, ✝7.14 cp. 1.1. Zac. 13.5.sino que soy boyero, y cogedor de cabrahigos:

15 Y Jehová me tomó de tras el ganado, y díjome Jehová: Ve, y profetiza á mi pueblo Israel.

16 Ahora pues, oye palabra de Jehová. Tú dices: No profetices contra Israel, ni hables contra la casa de Isaac:

17 Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová: ✝7.17 Os. 4.13.Tu mujer fornicará en la ciudad, y tus hijos y tus hijas caerán á cuchillo, y ✝7.17 2 S. 8.2. Sal. 60.6.tu tierra será partida por suertes; y tú morirás en tierra inmunda, é Israel será traspasado de su tierra.
