1 I whakakitea anō tēnei e te Ariki, e Ihowā, ki ahau – nā, he kete hua raumati. 2 Nā, ka mea ia, "Ko te aha te kitea ana e koe, e Āmoho?"

Anō rā ko ahau, "He kete hua raumati."

Anō rā ko Ihowā ki ahau, "Kua tae mai te mutunga ki tāku iwi, ki a Īharaira; e kore tā rātou e whakarērea noatia e ahau ā muri ake nei.

3 "He auē anō ngā waiata o te temepara i taua rā," e ai tā te Ariki, tā Ihowā; "ka maha ngā tinana mate i ngā wāhi katoa; ka ākiritia pukutia atu."

4 Whakarongo ki tēnei, e te hunga i horomia ai te rawakore,

i meinga ai te hunga iti o te whenua kia ngohe;

5 e kī ana koutou,

"Āhea pahemo ai te kōwhititanga marama,

kia hoko wīti ai tātou,

te hāpati hoki,

kia whakaputaia atu ai te wīti e tātou?"

Ka meinga te epa kia iti, te hekere kia nui,

me te teka ki ngā pāuna tinihanga;

6 kia hokona ai e tātou ngā ware ki te hiriwa,

te rawakore ki ngā hū e rua;

nā, ko te wīti rukenga me hoko atu.

7 Kua oatitia e Ihowā te nui o Hākopa: "E kore ahau e wareware ki tētahi o ā rātou mahi ā ake ake.

8 E kore ianei te whenua e wiri ki tēnei?

E kore ianei te hunga katoa e noho ana i reira e tangi?

Āe rā, ka pari katoa ake nei hoki ānō ko te awa;

ka ākina e te hau, ka hoki iho anō,

ka pērā me te awa o Īhipa."

9 "Nā, i taua rā," e ai tā te Ariki, tā Ihowā,

"ka meinga e ahau te rā kia toene i te awatea,

ā, ka pōuri i ahau te whenua i te mea e mārama ana anō te rā.

10 Ka puta kē anō i ahau ā koutou hākari hei tangihanga,

ā koutou waiata katoa hei apakura;

he taratara tāku kākahu mō ngā hope katoa;

mō ngā māhunga katoa he pākira.

Ka rite i ahau ki te tangihanga ki te huatahi,

ā, ko tōna mutunga hei rā mamae.

11 "Nanā, kei te haere mai ngā rā," e ai tā te Ariki, tā Ihowā,

"e tukua ai e ahau he hemokai ki te whenua,

ehara i te hemokai taro, ehara anō i te matewai;

engari he hiahia kia rongo i ngā kupu a Ihowā.

12 Ā, ka ātiutiu atu rātou i tētahi moana ki tētahi moana,

i te raki ki te rāwhiti;

ka kōpikopiko, he rapu i te kupu a Ihowā;

heoi e kore e kitea.

13 "I taua rā

ka hemo ngā wāhina ātaahua,

me ngā taitama, i te matewai.

14 Nā, ko te hunga e oati ana i te hē o Hamaria,

e kī ana, ‘Kei te ora tōu Atua, e Rāna,’

me tēnei, ‘Kei te ora te tikanga o Peerehepa’ –

ka taka rawa rātou,

e kore anō e ara ā muri ake nei."

2 Y dijo: ¿Qué ves, Amós? Y dije: Un canastillo de fruta de verano. Y díjome Jehová: Venido ha el fin sobre mi pueblo Israel; ✝8.2 cp. 7.8.no le pasaré más.

3 Y los cantores del templo aullarán en aquel día, dice el Señor Jehová; muchos serán los cuerpos muertos; en todo lugar echados serán en silencio.

4 Oid esto, los que tragáis á los menesterosos, y arruináis los pobres de la tierra,

5 Diciendo: ¿Cuándo pasará el mes, y venderemos el trigo; y la semana, y abriremos los alfolíes del pan, y ✝8.5 Ez. 45.10. Mi. 6.10,11.achicaremos la medida, y engrandeceremos el precio, y falsearemos ✝8.5 Os. 12.8.el peso engañoso;

6 Para comprar los pobres ✝8.6 cp. 2.6.por dinero, y los necesitados por un par de zapatos, y venderemos las aechaduras del trigo?

7 Jehová juró por ✝8.7 cp. 6.8.la gloria de Jacob: ✝8.7 Os. 8.13 y 9.9.No me olvidaré para siempre de todas sus obras.

8 ¿No se ha de estremecer la tierra sobre esto? ¿y todo habitador de ella no llorará? y subirá toda como un río, y será arrojada, y hundiráse como el río de Egipto.

9 Y acaecerá en aquel día, dice el Señor Jehová, ✝8.9 Is. 60.20. Jer. 15.9. Mi. 3.6. Mt. 24.29.que haré se ponga el sol al mediodía, y la tierra cubriré de tinieblas en el día claro.

10 Y tornaré vuestras fiestas en lloro, y todos vuestros cantares en endechas; y haré poner saco sobre todos lomos, y ✝8.10 Is. 3.24.peladura sobre toda cabeza; y tornaréla ✝8.10 Jer. 6.26. Zac. 12.10.como en llanto de unigénito, y su postrimería como día amargo.

11 He aquí vienen días, dice el Señor Jehová, en los cuales enviaré hambre á la tierra, no hambre de pan, ni sed de agua, sino ✝8.11 Sal. 74.9. Is. 29.10. Mi. 3.7.de oir palabra de Jehová.

12 E irán errantes de mar á mar: desde el norte hasta el oriente discurrirán buscando palabra de Jehová, y no la hallarán.

13 En aquel tiempo las doncellas hermosas y los mancebos desmayarán de sed.

14 Los que juran por el ✝8.14 Dt. 9.21. Os. 10.8.pecado de Samaria, y dicen, Vive tu Dios de ✝8.14 1 R. 12.29,30.Dan: y, Vive el camino de ✝8.14 cp. 5.5.Beer-seba: caerán, y nunca más se levantarán.
