1 — Se você notar que um boi ou uma ovelha de seu compatriota se extraviou, não se omita, mas, sem falta, leve os animais de volta ao dono. 2 Se este não for o seu vizinho ou for alguém que você não conhece, leve os animais para casa e fique com eles até que o dono venha buscá-los; então você os entregará a ele. 3 Faça o mesmo com o jumento, com a roupa, ou com qualquer outra coisa que o seu compatriota perder e que você achar; você não pode se omitir.

4 — Se você enxergar o jumento ou o boi que pertence ao seu compatriota caído no caminho, não se omita; sem falta ajude-o a levantar o animal.

5 — A mulher não deve usar roupa de homem, e o homem não deve vestir roupa de mulher, pois quem faz isso é abominável ao Senhor, seu Deus.

6 — Se, no caminho, você encontrar um ninho de ave, em alguma árvore ou no chão, com passarinhos ou ovos, e a mãe sobre os passarinhos ou sobre os ovos, não pegue a mãe com os filhotes. 7 Você pode ficar com os filhotes, mas deixe a mãe ir, livremente, para que tudo vá bem com você, e para que você prolongue os seus dias.

8 — Quando você construir uma casa nova, faça um parapeito no terraço, para que você não traga culpa de sangue sobre a casa, se alguém de algum modo cair do terraço.

9 — Não plante outra semente na sua vinha, para que não se profane toda a produção, tanto da vinha quanto da semente que você plantou.

10 — Não lavre a terra com junta de boi e jumento.

11 — Não vista roupa feita de pano de lã e linho misturados.

12 — Coloque franjas nos quatro cantos do manto que você usa.

13 — Se um homem casar com uma mulher, e, depois de ter tido relações com ela, passar a odiá-la, 14 e lhe atribuir atos vergonhosos, e a difamar, dizendo: "Casei com esta mulher e, quando tive relações com ela, descobri que não era virgem", 15 então o pai e a mãe da moça levarão as provas da virgindade da moça aos anciãos da cidade, junto ao portão. 16 O pai da moça dirá aos anciãos: "Dei minha filha por mulher a este homem, porém ele passou a odiá-la. 17 Eis que lhe atribuiu atos vergonhosos, dizendo: ‘Descobri que a sua filha não era virgem.’ Mas aqui estão as provas da virgindade de minha filha." E estenderão a roupa dela diante dos anciãos da cidade, 18 os quais pegarão o homem, o açoitarão 19 e o condenarão a pagar cem barras de prata ao pai da moça, porque difamou uma virgem de Israel. Ela ficará sendo mulher dele, e ele não poderá mandá-la embora durante a sua vida.

20 — Porém, se isso for verdade, ou seja, se ficar provado que a moça não era virgem, 21 então a levarão à porta da casa de seu pai, e os homens de sua cidade a apedrejarão até que morra, pois cometeu um ato infame em Israel, prostituindo-se na casa de seu pai. Assim vocês eliminarão o mal do meio de vocês.

22 — Se um homem for encontrado deitado com uma mulher que tem marido, ambos devem ser mortos, o homem que se deitou com a mulher e a mulher. Assim vocês eliminarão o mal de Israel.

23 — Se uma moça virgem tiver casamento contratado, e outro homem a encontrar na cidade e tiver relações com ela, 24 vocês devem trazer ambos ao portão daquela cidade e apedrejá-los até que morram; a moça, porque não gritou por socorro, estando na cidade, e o homem, porque humilhou a mulher do seu próximo. Assim vocês eliminarão o mal do meio de vocês.

25 — Porém, se um homem, no campo, encontrar uma moça que tem casamento contratado, e a forçar, e tiver relações com ela, então morrerá só o homem que teve relações com ela; 26 à moça vocês não devem fazer nada; ela não tem culpa de morte, porque este caso é semelhante ao do homem que se levanta contra o seu próximo e lhe tira a vida. 27 Pois o homem encontrou a moça no campo; a moça que tinha o casamento contratado gritou, e não houve quem a livrasse.

28 — Se um homem encontrar uma moça virgem, que não tem casamento contratado, e a pegar à força, e tiver relações com ela, e eles forem apanhados, 29 então o homem que teve relações com ela pagará ao pai da moça cinquenta barras de prata; e, uma vez que a humilhou, terá de recebê-la por esposa; não poderá mandá-la embora durante a sua vida.

30 — Nenhum homem terá relações com a sua madrasta e não profanará o leito de seu pai.

1 Thou shall not see thy brother's ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them. Thou shall surely bring them again to thy brother.2 And if thy brother be not near to thee, or if thou do not know him, then thou shall bring it home to thy house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seeks after it, and thou shall restore it to him.3 And so shall thou do with his donkey, and so shall thou do with his garment, and so shall thou do with every lost thing of thy brother's, which he has lost, and thou have found. Thou may not hide thyself.4 Thou shall not see thy brother's donkey or his ox fallen down by the way, and hide thyself from them. Thou shall surely help him to lift them up again.5 A woman shall not wear that which pertains to a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment, for whoever does these things is an abomination to LORD thy God.6 If a bird's nest chance to be before thee in the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young or upon the eggs, thou shall not take the dam with the young.7 Thou shall surely let the dam go, but the young thou may take to thyself, that it may be well with thee, and that thou may prolong thy days.8 When thou build a new house, then thou shall make a guard rail for thy roof, that thou not bring blood upon thy house, if any man falls from there.9 Thou shall not sow thy vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest the whole fruit be forfeited: the seed which thou have sown, and the increase of the vineyard.10 Thou shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.11 Thou shall not wear a mingled stuff, wool and linen together.12 Thou shall make for thee fringes upon the four borders of thy clothing, with which thou cover thyself.13 If any man takes a wife, and goes in to her, and dislikes her,14 and charges her with shameful things, and brings up an evil name upon her, and says, I took this woman, and when I came near to her, I did not find in her the tokens of virginity,15 then the father of the damsel, and her mother, shall take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity to the elders of the city in the gate.16 And the damsel's father shall say to the elders, I gave my daughter to this man to wife, and he dislikes her.17 And, lo, he has charged her with shameful things, saying, I did not find in thy daughter the tokens of virginity, and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the garment before the elders of the c18 And the elders of that city shall take the man and chastise him,19 and they shall fine him a hundred [shekels] of silver, and give them to the father of the damsel, because he has brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel, and she shall be his wife. He may not put her away all his days.20 But if this thing be true, that the tokens of virginity were not found in the damsel,21 then they shall bring the damsel out to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has wrought folly in Israel, to play the harlot in her father's house. So shall thou22 If a man be found laying with a woman married to a husband, then they shall both of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman. So shall thou put away the evil from Israel.23 If there be a damsel who is a virgin betrothed to a husband, and a man finds her in the city, and lays with her,24 then ye shall bring them both out to the gate of that city. And ye shall stone them to death with stones, the damsel, because she did not cry out, being in the city, and the man, because he has humbled his neighbor's wife. So thou25 But if the man finds the damsel who is betrothed in the field, and the man forces her, and lays with her, then only the man who lay with her shall die,26 but to the damsel thou shall do nothing. There is in the damsel no sin worthy of death. For as when a man rises against his neighbor, and kills him, even so is this matter,27 for he found her in the field, the betrothed damsel cried out, and there was none to save her.28 If a man finds a damsel who is a virgin, who is not betrothed, and lays hold on her, and lays with her, and they be found,29 then the man who lay with her shall give to the damsel's father fifty [shekels] of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has humbled her. He may not put her away all his days.30 A man shall not take his father's wife, and shall not uncover his father's skirt.
