1 Moisés e os anciãos de Israel deram ordens ao povo, dizendo:

— Guardem todos estes mandamentos que hoje lhes ordeno. 2 No dia em que vocês passarem o Jordão e entrarem na terra que o Senhor, seu Deus, lhes dá, levantem pedras grandes e pintem-nas com cal. 3 Ao passarem, escrevam nessas pedras todas as palavras desta lei, para que vocês entrem na terra que o Senhor, seu Deus, lhes dá, terra que mana leite e mel, como o Senhor, o Deus dos seus pais, lhes prometeu. 4 Quando vocês tiverem passado o Jordão, levantem essas pedras no monte Ebal, como hoje lhes ordeno, e pintem-nas com cal. 5 Ali vocês devem construir um altar ao Senhor, seu Deus, altar de pedras que não tenham sido trabalhadas com instrumentos de ferro. 6 Construam o altar do Senhor, seu Deus, com pedras toscas e sobre este altar lhe ofereçam holocaustos. 7 Também sacrifiquem ofertas pacíficas; comam ali e alegrem-se na presença do Senhor, seu Deus. 8 Nessas pedras, escrevam, de forma bem nítida, todas as palavras desta lei.

9 Moisés, juntamente com os sacerdotes levitas, disse ainda a todo o Israel:

— Fique em silêncio e escute, ó Israel! Hoje vocês vieram a ser o povo do Senhor, seu Deus. 10 Portanto, obedeçam à voz do Senhor, seu Deus, e cumpram os mandamentos e os estatutos que hoje lhes ordeno.

11 Naquele dia, Moisés deu ordem ao povo, dizendo:

12 — Quando vocês tiverem passado o Jordão, estas tribos devem se colocar sobre o monte Gerizim, para abençoar o povo: Simeão, Levi, Judá, Issacar, José e Benjamim. 13 E estas tribos estarão sobre o monte Ebal, para amaldiçoar o povo: Rúben, Gade, Aser, Zebulom, Dã e Naftali. 14 Os levitas testificarão a todo o povo de Israel em alta voz e dirão:

15 — "Maldito o homem que fizer imagem de escultura ou de fundição, abominável ao Senhor, obra de artífice, e a puser em lugar oculto." E todo o povo responderá: "Amém!"

16 — "Maldito aquele que desprezar o seu pai ou a sua mãe." E todo o povo dirá: "Amém!"

17 — "Maldito aquele que mudar os marcos de divisa do seu próximo." E todo o povo dirá: "Amém!"

18 — "Maldito aquele que fizer o cego errar o caminho." E todo o povo dirá: "Amém!"

19 — "Maldito aquele que perverter o direito do estrangeiro, do órfão e da viúva." E todo o povo dirá: "Amém!"

20 — "Maldito aquele que tiver relações sexuais com a madrasta, porque profanaria o leito de seu pai." E todo o povo dirá: "Amém!"

21 — "Maldito aquele que tiver relações sexuais com um animal." E todo o povo dirá: "Amém!"

22 — "Maldito aquele que tiver relações sexuais com a sua irmã, filha de seu pai ou filha de sua mãe." E todo o povo dirá: "Amém!"

23 — "Maldito aquele que tiver relações sexuais com sua sogra." E todo o povo dirá: "Amém!"

24 — "Maldito aquele que matar o seu próximo às escondidas." E todo o povo dirá: "Amém!"

25 — "Maldito aquele que aceitar suborno para matar pessoa inocente." E todo o povo dirá: "Amém!"

26 — "Maldito aquele que não confirmar as palavras desta lei, não as cumprindo." E todo o povo dirá: "Amém!"

1 And Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandment which I command you this day.2 And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over the Jordan to the land which LORD thy God gives thee, that thou shall set up for thee great stones, and plaster them with plaster.3 And thou shall write upon them all the words of this law when thou have passed over, that thou may go in to the land which LORD thy God gives thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, as LORD, the God of thy fathers, has promised t4 And it shall be, when ye have passed over the Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shall plaster them with plaster.5 And there thou shall build an altar to LORD thy God, an altar of stones. Thou shall lift up no iron upon them.6 Thou shall build the altar of LORD thy God of unhewn stones. And thou shall offer burnt-offerings on it to LORD thy God.7 And thou shall sacrifice peace-offerings, and shall eat there, and thou shall rejoice before LORD thy God.8 And thou shall write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.9 And Moses and the priests the Levites spoke to all Israel, saying, Keep silence, and hearken, O Israel. This day thou have become the people of LORD thy God.10 Thou shall therefore obey the voice of LORD thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.11 And Moses charged the people the same day, saying,12 These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye have passed over the Jordan: Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin.13 And these shall stand upon mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.14 And the Levites shall answer, and say to all the men of Israel with a loud voice,15 Cursed be the man who makes a graven or molten image, an abomination to LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.16 Cursed be he who dishonors his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.17 Cursed be he who removes his neighbor's landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen.18 Cursed be he who makes the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.19 Cursed be he who distorts the justice to the sojourner, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.20 Cursed be he who lays with his father's wife, because he has uncovered his father's skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen.21 Cursed be he who lays with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen.22 Cursed be he who lays with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.23 Cursed be he who lays with his mother-in-law. And all the people shall say, Amen.24 Cursed be he who smites his neighbor in secret. And all the people shall say, Amen.25 Cursed be he who takes a bribe to kill an innocent man. And all the people shall say, Amen.26 Cursed is every man who does not continue in all (LXX/NT) the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.
