1 O deserto e a terra seca
se alegrarão;
o ermo exultará e florescerá
como o narciso.
2 Ele se cobrirá de flores,
dará gritos de alegria e exultará.
Receberá a glória do Líbano,
o esplendor do Carmelo
e de Sarom.
Eles verão a glória do Senhor,
o esplendor do nosso Deus.
3 Fortaleçam as mãos frouxas
e firmem os joelhos vacilantes.
4 Digam aos desalentados
de coração:
"Sejam fortes, não tenham medo.
Eis aí está o Deus de vocês.
A vingança vem,
a retribuição de Deus;
ele vem para salvar vocês."
5 Então se abrirão os olhos
dos cegos,
e se desimpedirão os ouvidos
dos surdos;
6 os coxos saltarão como as corças,
e a língua dos mudos cantará.
Pois águas arrebentarão
no deserto,
e ribeiros, no ermo.
7 A areia escaldante
se transformará em lagos,
e a terra seca,
em mananciais de água.
Onde os chacais
costumavam viver,
crescerá a erva com canas e juncos.
8 E ali haverá uma estrada,
um caminho que será chamado
de Caminho Santo.
Os impuros não passarão por ele,
pois será somente
para o povo de Deus.
Quem passar por esse caminho,
mesmo que seja um tolo,
não se perderá.
9 Ali não haverá leão;
nenhum animal feroz
passará por ele
nem será encontrado nele;
mas os remidos andarão
por esse caminho.
10 Os resgatados do Senhor
voltarão
e virão a Sião
com cânticos de júbilo.
Alegria eterna
coroará a sua cabeça.
Ficarão tomados
de júbilo e alegria,
e deles fugirão
a tristeza e o gemido.

1 The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad. And the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of LORD, the excellency of our God.3 Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.4 Say to those who are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not. Behold, your God will come [with] vengeance, [with] the recompense of God. He will come and save you.5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.6 Then the lame man shall leap as a hart, and the tongue of the mute shall sing. For waters in the wilderness shall break out, and streams in the desert.7 And the glowing sand shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water. In the habitation of jackals, where they lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.8 And a highway shall be there, and a way. And it shall be called The way of holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, but is shall be for [the redeemed], the wayfaring men. Yea fools shall not err [in it].9 No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast go up in it. They shall not be found there, but the redeemed shall walk [there].10 And the ransomed of LORD shall return, and come with singing to Zion. And everlasting joy shall be upon their heads. They shall obtain gladness and joy. And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
