1 Então Moisés subiu das campinas de Moabe ao monte Nebo, ao alto do monte Pisga, que está em frente de Jericó. E o Senhor lhe mostrou toda a terra de Gileade até Dã; 2 e todo o Naftali, e a terra de Efraim e Manassés; e toda a terra de Judá até o mar ocidental; 3 e o Neguebe e a campina do vale de Jericó, a cidade das palmeiras, até a região de Zoar. 4 E o Senhor disse a Moisés:

— Esta é a terra que, sob juramento, prometi a Abraão, a Isaque e a Jacó, dizendo que a daria à descendência deles. Estou permitindo que você a veja com os seus próprios olhos, mas você não entrará nela.

5 Assim Moisés, servo do Senhor, morreu ali, na terra de Moabe, segundo a palavra do Senhor. 6 Este o sepultou num vale, na terra de Moabe, diante de Bete-Peor, mas até hoje ninguém sabe o lugar da sua sepultura. 7 Moisés tinha cento e vinte anos quando morreu, mas os seus olhos não se haviam enfraquecido, e ele não havia perdido o vigor. 8 Os filhos de Israel prantearam Moisés durante trinta dias, nas campinas de Moabe; então se cumpriram os dias do pranto do luto por Moisés.

9 Josué, filho de Num, estava cheio do espírito de sabedoria, porque Moisés havia imposto as mãos sobre ele. Assim, os filhos de Israel lhe deram ouvidos e fizeram como o Senhor havia ordenado a Moisés.

10 Nunca mais se levantou em Israel um profeta como Moisés, com quem o Senhor tratava face a face. 11 Nunca houve ninguém que fizesse todos os sinais e maravilhas que, por ordem do Senhor, ele fez na terra do Egito, a Faraó, a todos os seus oficiais e a toda a sua terra. 12 Nunca houve quem tivesse tanto poder e fizesse os grandes e terríveis feitos que Moisés realizou à vista de todo o Israel.

1 So then Moses went up, from the waste plains of Moab into Mount Nebo, the head of Pisgah, which is over against Jericho,and Yahweh showed him all the landeven Gilead as far as Dan;

2 and all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh,and all the land of Judah, as far as the hinder sea;

3 and the South,and the circuit of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees as far as Zoar.

4 And Yahweh said unto himThis, is the land which I sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed, will I give it. I have let thee see with thine own eyes, But thither, shalt thou not pass over.

5 So Moses, the servant of Yahweh, died there, in the land of Moab, at the bidding of Yahweh;

6 and he buried him, in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Beth-peor,but no man hath known his burying-place, until this day.

7 Now, Moses, was a hundred and twenty years old, when he died,his eye had not dimmed, nor had his freshness fled.

8 And the sons of Israel bewailed Moses in the waste plains of Moab thirty day,then were completed the wailing-days of the mourning for Moses.

9 But, Joshua, son of Nun, was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands upon him,so the sons of Israel hearkened unto him, and did, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

10 And there arose not a prophet any more in Israel, like unto Moses,whom Yahweh acknowledged, face to face;

11 by all the signs and the wonders which Yahweh sent him to do in the land of Egypt,unto Pharaoh and unto all his servants and unto all his land;

12 and by all the firm hand, and by all the great terror which Moses wrought in the sight of all Israel.
