1 A palavra do Senhor veio a mim, dizendo:

2 — Filho do homem, vire o seu rosto contra o monte Seir e profetize contra ele. 3 Diga-lhe: Assim diz o Senhor Deus: "Eis que estou contra você, monte Seir. Estenderei a minha mão contra você e o tornarei em desolação e espanto. 4 Deixarei desertas as suas cidades, e você será desolado. Então saberá que eu sou o Senhor. 5 Pois você guardou uma inimizade sem fim e deixou os filhos de Israel entregues ao poder da espada, no tempo da calamidade e do castigo final. 6 Por isso, tão certo como eu vivo, diz o Senhor Deus, farei você sangrar, e o derramamento de sangue o perseguirá. Visto que você não odiou o derramamento de sangue, este o perseguirá. 7 Farei do monte Seir extrema desolação e eliminarei dele os que por ali passam e os que por ali voltam. 8 Encherei os seus montes de cadáveres; os mortos à espada ficarão caídos nas suas colinas, nos seus vales e em todas as suas correntes de água. 9 Farei de você uma desolação perpétua, e as suas cidades não voltarão a ser habitadas. Assim vocês saberão que eu sou o Senhor."

10 — "Porque você disse: ‘Esses dois povos são meus e eu vou tomar posse dessas duas terras’, sendo que o Senhor estava ali. 11 Por isso, tão certo como eu vivo, diz o Senhor Deus, procederei segundo a sua ira e segundo a sua inveja, com que, no seu ódio, você os tratou. E eu me farei conhecido entre eles, quando castigar você. 12 Você saberá que eu, o Senhor, ouvi todas as blasfêmias que você falou contra os montes de Israel, dizendo: ‘Já estão arrasados e nos foram entregues por pasto.’ 13 Vocês se exaltaram contra mim com aquilo que falaram e não pouparam palavras contra mim. Eu ouvi isso muito bem."

14 — Assim diz o Senhor Deus: "Enquanto toda a terra se alegra, farei de você uma desolação. 15 Assim como você se alegrou quando a herança da casa de Israel foi arrasada, assim também farei com você. Você será arrasado, ó monte Seir e todo o Edom, sim, todo ele. Então saberão que eu sou o Senhor."

1 And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man Set thy face against Mount Seir,and prophesy against it;

3 and thou shalt say to it Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Behold me! against thee Mount Seir,Therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, And will make thee a desolation and an astonishment:

4 Thy cities, will I lay waste, And thoua desolation, shalt become, So shalt thou know that I, am Yahweh.

5 Because thou hast had an age-abiding enmity, And hast delivered up the sons of Israel unto he hands of the sword,- In the time of their misfortune, In the time of the final punishment for iniquity,

6 Therefore, as I live, Declareth My Lord. Yahweh, Surely regarding blood, will deal with thee, Blood therefore, shall pursue thee,-Since blood thou hast not hated, Therefore blood, shall pursue thee,

7 So then I will deliver up Mount Seir to desolation after desolation,- And will cut off therefrom him that passeth by and him that returneth,

8 And I will fill his mountains with his slain, As for thy hills and thy hollows and all thy channels, they who are thrust through by the sword shall fall therein:

9 Desolations age-abiding, will I make thee, And thy cities, shall not be inhabited,- shall ye know that I, am Yahweh.

10 Because thou hast said, the two nations, and the two lands, mine, shall become, that we may possess it Whereas Yahweh, had been there,

11 Therefore as I live, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, I will even deal according to thine anger, and according to thine envy, wherewith thou hast dealt, out of thy hatred with them,- So will I make myself known among them as soon as I shall judge thee

12 And their shalt know that I, Yahweh, have heard all thy reviling which thou hast uttered against the mountains of Israel saying, They have become desolate, To us, have they been given for food;

13 And so ye have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, And have caused to abound against me your words, I, have heard!

14 Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, When all the earth is rejoicing, la desolation will I make thee:

15 As thou didst rejoice over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it had become a desolation, so, will, I, do unto thee, A desolation, shalt thou become, O Mount Seir And all Edom all of it, So shall they know that, I, am Yahweh.
