1 For Zion's sake I will not remain silent. For Jerusalem's sake I will not rest until its righteousness shines like the sunrise and its salvation burns brightly like a torch.2 »The nations will see your righteousness. All kings will see your glory. You will be given a new name that Jehovah will designate.3 »You will be a beautiful crown in the hand of Jehovah, a royal crown in the hand of your God.4 »You will no longer be called »Deserted,« and your land will no longer be called »Destroyed.« You will be named »My Delight.« Your land will be named »Married« owned as a wife. Jehovah is delighted with you, and your land will be married.5 »Your sons will marry you like a young man marries a woman. Your God will rejoice over the same way a bridegroom rejoices over his bride.6 »I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem. They will never be silent day or night. Whoever calls on Jehovah, do not allow yourselves any rest,7 and do not give him any rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it an object of praise throughout the earth.«8 Jehovah has sworn with his right hand and with his mighty arm of power: »I will never again let your enemies eat your grain, nor will foreigners drink the new wine that you produced.9 »Those who harvest grain will eat it and praise Jehovah. Those who gather grapes will drink wine in my holy courtyards.«10 Pass through! Pass through the gates! Prepare a way for the people! Build up! Build up the highway! Clear away the stones! Raise a flag standard for the people!11 Jehovah has announced to the ends of the earth: »Tell my people, Zion, your salvation is coming. His reward for us and recompense are with him.’«12 They will be called the holy people reclaimed repurchased by Jehovah! You will be called »searched for,« a »City Not Deserted.«

1 Por amor de Sião não me calarei, e por amor de Jerusalém não descansarei, até que saia a sua justiça como um resplendor, e a sua salvação como uma tocha acesa.2 E as nações verão a tua justiça, e todos os reis a tua glória; e chamar-te-ão por um nome novo, que a boca do Senhor designará.3 Também serás uma coroa de adorno na mão do Senhor, e um diadema real na mão do teu Deus.4 Nunca mais te chamarão: Desamparada, nem a tua terra se denominará Desolada; mas chamar-te-ão Hefzibá, e à tua terra Beulá; porque o Senhor se agrada de ti; e a tua terra se casará.5 Pois como o mancebo se casa com a donzela, assim teus filhos se casarão contigo; e, como o noivo se alegra da noiva, assim se alegrará de ti o teu Deus6 e Jerusalém, sobre os teus muros pus atalaias, que não se calarão nem de dia, nem de noite; ó vós, os que fazeis lembrar ao Senhor, não descanseis,7 e não lhe deis a ele descanso até que estabeleça Jerusalém e a ponha por objeto de louvor na terra.8 Jurou o Senhor pela sua mão direita, e pelo braço da sua força: Nunca mais darei de comer o teu trigo aos teus inimigos, nem os estrangeiros beberão o teu mosto, em que trabalhaste.9 Mas os que o ajuntarem o comerão, e louvarão ao Senhor; e os que o colherem o beberão nos átrios do meu santuário.10 Passai, passai pelas portas; preparai o caminho ao povo; aplanai, aplanai a estrada, limpai-a das pedras; arvorai a bandeira aos povos.11 Eis que o Senhor proclamou até as extremidades da terra: Dizei à filha de Sião: Eis que vem o teu Salvador; eis que com ele vem o seu galardão, e a sua recompensa diante dele.12 E chamar-lhes-ão: Povo santo, remidos do Senhor; e tu serás chamada Procurada, cidade não desamparada.
