1 O Senhor falou comigo assim:

2 — Homem mortal, você está vivendo no meio de um povo desobediente. Eles têm olhos, mas não veem nada; têm ouvidos, mas não ouvem nada, pois são rebeldes.

3 — Agora, homem mortal, arrume uma trouxa como se você fosse um refugiado e saia antes do cair da noite. Deixe que todos vejam que você está saindo para ir a algum lugar. Pode ser que aqueles rebeldes o vejam. 4 Para que eles possam vê-lo, arrume durante o dia a sua bagagem de refugiado; e então faça com que eles vejam você partir à noitinha, como quem está indo para o cativeiro. 5 Enquanto eles estiverem olhando, abra um buraco na parede da sua casa e saia por ele com a sua trouxa. 6 Deixe que eles o vejam pôr a trouxa nas costas e saia no escuro, com o rosto coberto, para que você não possa ver aonde vai. O que você fizer será um aviso para os israelitas.

7 Eu fiz o que o Senhor mandou. Naquele dia, arrumei uma bagagem como se fosse um refugiado. E naquela tarde, quando estava escurecendo, fiz com as minhas próprias mãos um buraco na parede e saí. E eles me viram quando coloquei a trouxa nas costas e fui embora.

8 Na manhã seguinte, o Senhor me disse:

9 — Homem mortal, esses israelitas rebeldes estão lhe perguntando o que você está fazendo. 10 Agora, diga-lhes aquilo que eu, o Senhor Deus, estou dizendo a eles. Esta mensagem é para o príncipe que governa em Jerusalém e para todo o povo que mora ali. 11 Diga-lhes que o que você fez é um sinal daquilo que vai acontecer com eles. Serão refugiados, serão levados para o cativeiro. 12 O príncipe que os está governando porá a sua trouxa nas costas no escuro e escapará por um buraco aberto no muro para ele. Ele cobrirá o rosto e não verá para onde estará indo. 13 Mas eu prepararei a minha armadilha e o apanharei nela. Depois, eu o levarei para a cidade de Babilônia, onde ele morrerá sem chegar a vê-la. 14 Espalharei em todas as direções todos os que vivem em volta dele, os seus conselheiros e os seus guardas; e haverá gente procurando matá-los.

15 — Quando eu os espalhar entre as outras nações e por países estrangeiros, eles ficarão sabendo que eu sou o Senhor. 16 Deixarei alguns escaparem da guerra, da fome e das doenças, de modo que, lá no meio das nações, eles compreenderão o quanto as suas ações foram vergonhosas e reconhecerão que eu sou o Senhor.

17 O Senhor falou assim comigo:

18 — Homem mortal, trema de medo quando você comer e estremeça quando beber. 19 Diga ao povo deste país que esta é a mensagem do Senhor Deus para a gente de Jerusalém que ainda está vivendo na sua terra. Quando eles comerem, estremecerão; e, quando beberem, tremerão de medo. Tudo o que existe na terra deles será tirado, pois todos os que vivem ali são gente violenta. 20 As cidades que agora estão cheias de gente serão destruídas, e o país vai virar um deserto. Aí eles ficarão sabendo que eu sou o Senhor.

21 O Senhor falou comigo assim:

22 — Homem mortal, por que é que o povo de Israel repete este provérbio: "O tempo passa, e as profecias dão em nada"? 23 Agora, diga a essa gente aquilo que eu, o Senhor Deus, penso a respeito disso. Eu vou acabar com esse provérbio; ele nunca mais será repetido em Israel. Diga isto: "O tempo chegou, e o que foi dito está se cumprindo."

24 — Não haverá mais visões falsas nem profecias enganadoras no meio do povo de Israel. 25 Eu, o Senhor, falarei, e o que eu disser acontecerá. Não haverá mais demoras. Povo rebelde, vocês ainda estarão vivos quando eu fizer o que prometi. Eu, o Senhor Deus, falei.

26 O Senhor me disse:

27 — Homem mortal, os israelitas pensam que as visões que você tem e as suas profecias são a respeito de um futuro que está longe. 28 Por isso, diga a eles o que eu, o Senhor Deus, estou dizendo: "Não haverá mais demoras. O que eu disse vai acontecer." Eu, o Senhor Deus, falei.

1 Then came the word of Yahweh unto me saying:

2 Son of man. In the midst of a perverse house, dost thou dwell, Who have eyes to seeand have not seen. Ears have they to hearand have no heard, For a perverse house, they are.

3 Thou, therefore Son of man, Prepare thee baggage for exe, and exe thyself, by day, before their eyes,so shalt thou exe thyself out of thy place unto another place before their eyes, peradventure they will consider though a perverse house, they are.

4 Therefore shalt thou take forth thy baggage as baggage for exe, by day before their eyes,and thou thyself, shalt go forth in the evening, before their eyes, like them who go forth to exe.

5 Before their eyes, break thou forth by thyself through the wall,and carry forth through it.

6 Before their eyes, Upon the shoulder, shalt thou lift it. In thick darkness, take it forth, Thy face, shalt thou cover so that thou see not the land; For a sign, have I appointed thee to the house of Israel.

7 And I did so, just as I was commanded, My baggage, took I forth as baggage for exe by day, and in the evening, I brake forth by myself through the wall, by force: in the twilight, I took it forthon to my shoulder, I lifted it, before their eyes.

8 Then came the word of Yahweh unto me in the morning, saying:

9 Son of man, Have not the house of Israel the perverse house, said unto thee, What art thou doing?

10 Say unto them, Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, all the house of Israel such as are in their midst.

11 Say, I, am your sign: As I have done, so. shall it be done to them, Into exileinto captivity, shall they go.

12 Yea, the Bearer, who is in their midst, Upon his shoulder, shall lift it. In thick darkness, shall he go forth, Through the wall, shall they break to hear forth through it, His face, shall he cover, to the end that his own eye may not see the land.

13 Then will I spread my net ever him, and he shall be taken in my snare; And I will take him to Babylon. in the land of the Chaldeans, The which, indeed, he shall not see. And yet there, shall he die!

14 And all who are round about him to help him. and all his tops, will scatter to every wind,and a sword, will I make bare after them.

15 So shall they know that, I, am Yahweh By my dispersing them among the nations, And scattering them throughout the lands.

16 Yet will I leave remaining of them, men easy counted, from the sword from a the famine and from the pestilence,that they may recount all their abominations among the nations whither they have come, So shall they know that, I, am Yahweh.

17 Then came the word of Yahweh unto me, saying:

18 Son of man, Thy bread, with trembling, shalt thou eat, And thy water, in agitation and in fear, shalt thou drink.

19 Then shalt thou say unto the people of the land Thus saith the Lord Yahweh concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem, upon the so of Israel, Their bread, with anxious care, shall they eat, And their water in astonishment, shall they drink, That there land may be deserted of her fulness because of the violence of all them who dwell therein:

20 Yea the cities that are inhabited I shall be laid waste, And the land, shall become m astonish- men, So shall ye know that, I am Yahweh.

21 And the word of Yahweh came unto me saying:

22 Son of man What is this proverb ye have, concerning the so of Israel, saying, The days, are prolonged, Therefore shall every vision come to nought?

23 Therefore say unto them, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, I will cause this proverb to cease, And they shall use it as a proverb no more in Israel, But speak unto them, The days late drawn near, And the substance of every vision.

24 For there shall no more be Any vision of falsehood Or divination of deceit, In the midst of the house of Israel.

25 For, I, Yahweh will speak whatsoever word I please to speak, And it shall be done, It shall not be delayed any more, For in your own days, O perverse house, will I speak a word and perform it, Declareth My Lord. Yahweh.

26 And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:

27 Son of man. Lo! the house of Israel are saying, the vision which he seeth is for many days, Yea for times far away, hath he prophesied.

28 Therefore say unto them. Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, None of my words shall be delayed any more, Whatsoever word I speak, then shall it be performed, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
